Is there a manual trigger I can run?

Try these from the console, in DebugMode 1 at the Gate (control main character, no target):
rs ga_local_int("DoneOnce", "0", "")
rs b08_client_enter()
rs ga_local_int("DoneOnce", "0", "")
But if you have a save just before entering the dreamscape (ie. in the Skein?), just this should do:
rs ga_local_int("DoneOnce", "0", "d08_dreamscape_gate")
( voodoo ritual w/ virgin chicken required )

Your scripts report successful execution, but Araman still isn't there.
I have a save right before the Coven, a save right after the fight on the stage, and an autosave right in the gate room.
The Speak Trigger doesn't seem to do anything.

Do you know of a console command (script?) that spawns NPCs? I've seen one for roster members but doubt if it'd work here. i'd love to know of one ..
It needs Araman present. Let's go with your auto-save & a custom script (since I din't know of a spawnscript) ..CBorg wrote...

If your toolset is up and running (it sounds like it is), exit both game and toolset and create a textfile in your MyDocs->Override, call the file "spawnaraman.nss"
put this in it:
// spawnaraman
// 2011.07.24
// temporary fix that should spawn Araman in the dream-sequence
// under the Slumbering Coven (at the 'dreamy' Betrayer's Gate)
void main()
{
location lLoc = GetLocation(GetObjectByTag("sp_d05_araman"));
CreateObject(OBJECT_TYPE_CREATURE, "d05_araman", lLoc);
}Then open the toolset, go to FileMenu->Open Conversation/Script, and type in 'spawnaraman' in the Filter Text box. Double click the file to open it, in the toolset. Press F7
make sure it says compiled successfully. You should now have .nss & .ncs files, that can run from the console with the RunScript command.
rs spawnaraman()
at the DreamGate

i'm also wondering what could have stopped Araman from spawning, 'cause the scripts (internally) seem straightforward; ie. probly no conflicts

Obsidian carelessly used the same script name for the area on enter script of two different areas. So if the script for the other area is modded and placed in the override folder then Araman won't be spawned. That is why I asked about what custom content is in the override folder. Both my MotB Makeover and WRFan's NWN2 Plot Fixes both encountered this problem and then released patches. So if he has an early version of WRFan's stuff or the MotB Makeover installed then that would cause the problem.

Yes, I have had the Kaedrin PRC pack in override, though I've also completely reinstalled and subsequently attempted the scene completely stock with the same result.

Is it, that Araman is not there - or simply that his conversation won't trigger?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but can't you just alter the script by including an if statement in it that checks the tag of the area, and run different things that way?Kaldor Silverwand wrote...

you can try renaming your player folder, MyDocs->NwN2 (or equivalent), adding "_temp" or something to the foldername.
i don't like the look of that .. make sure you've got Dx9c and .NET 2+System.IO.FileNotFoundException
elsewise it's gobbledegook t' me
