So I was looking at David Gaider's T-Shirt on the Comic-Con Writer Q&A, and saw it contained an unfinished hangman game that appeared to be teasing an upcoming Dragon Age 2 thing.

The letters were:

 _ _ _ _ _ _ D
_ _ R _ _

With N, O, Y, P crossed out as being wrong letters.

EXALTED MARCH fits inside the spaces, and could tease... an expansion maybe?

Discuss!

If so, that would be absurdly clever way of hinting it.

Ooooh.

That does seem like a plausible event to occur, to be honest. What might be interesting is whether the Templars take it upon themselves to start one without the official green light, such as it is. We are told they've gone rogue to hunt the mages.

Alternatively, a "LFM to raze Kirkwall, need tanks and dps" post on the Chanters board by Sebastian. I wouldn't rule that possibility out, myself.

I would love for an expansion relating to that issue myself.

It seems like an event that'd be way too big for any DLC. I'd certainly want them to deal with the inevitable Exalted March through an expansion.

Welp, my Hawke fanfic is solidified. I was going to leave it as an unknown thing whether an Exalted March would be called on Kirkwall until I knew the future of DA2 (I was going to do it, but I wanted to see what tricks Bioware had up their sleeve).

Now I know. So an Exalted March shall be called.

Y'know, given how successful the Exalted Marches have generally been, which is to say 'complete failures unless against a severely weakened/outnumbered target', I just hope we get the option to sit this one out. No, no, it's cool. You go ahead, Templar people. I, uh, think I left the kettle on. So sorry. Maybe next time?

Sit it out? I want Hawke to turtle up in Kirkwall until the Chantry and their Templars break themselves on his sword.

Oh, and I want my army of Morrigans please.

I think my Hawke will be getting marched on, all exalted-like.

I don't know, where there are Exalted Marches, there are armies of Templars. Where there are Templars, there are back-flipping armoured ninjas.

I hate those guys.

Which only means they'll likely try to cram it into a 45 minute DLC and wonder why people are ticked off when it doesn't meet expectations a la Witch Hunt.:pinched:

Exalted March on who? Mages? With what army? Didn't the Templars abandon the Chantry? Is Orlais involved (most probably)? Why?

Sounds interesting, will be awaiting further info.
Hopefully Bioware will write a real political plot this time.

And an event of such scale should not be relegated to a DLC, or even an expansion imo.

Now that might be interesting, if Orlais were wipping up the rogue Templars into starting their own unofficial march against the mages. I hear Ferelden is harbouring a lot of apostates these days, guys.

I would think that would be the only way for it to happen given the breakaway of the templars.

Unless, as the anime description implies, the Chantry whips up the Seekers into Templars 2.0 to take down the mages and anti-Chantry elements.

Well, I almost thought it could be CHEESED ARRGH, but then I realised that the other R would have in been in place already, unless it's a particularly evil game of hangman where you have to guess duplicate letters as many times as they appear.

But then, that's the sort of evil thing I imagine David Gaider might do.

I bet the end of something like this would lead in to DA3.

Surely Thedas' version of the Crusades wouldn't be used as a gimmick that just gives you something to do for the length of an expansion and then never comes up again. It would be pretty terrible if they just let you "solve" a March in the 30 hours of gameplay, "Well, it did some stuff, but it's over now. You won! Celebration!".
