I was curious so I compared the Facebook poll to this one, and was pleasantly surprised to see that both polls are actually really close, despite FB's 'multi-vote' loophole.
As of today...
Facebook: 68,477 "likes" vs. BSN (marshalleck's poll): 1,983 votes.
- Shepard 1: 11% vs. 14%
- Shepard 2: 7% vs. 8%
- Shepard 3: 16% vs. 12%
- Shepard 4: 18% vs. 18%
- Shepard 5: 43% vs. 41%
- Shepard 6: 5% vs. 7%
#5 is clearly in the lead by over 20% in both polls and only 2% lower on BSN. #2, #4, and #5 are all within a 2% margin. The only real difference is in their opinions of #1 and #3, with BSN leaning towards 1 and FB leaning towards 3.
The final choice will probably resemble #5 the most due to such an overwhelming preference by the community, but I wouldn't get married to any specific feature at this stage, like hair color. Chances are they'll look at the vote distribution and comments to make minor tweaks (like hair color, skin tone, face structure), and the modelers/artists will most certainly have to make some interpretations once it makes the jump from concept to model.
If they don't keep her blonde, it would be lame. That's what people voted for. Blondes are not cliche in Mass Effect.
Read the comments on facebook again.... a LOT of the people who voted 5 voted for hairstyle and specifically said... "number 5 but with red hair."
Did the majority of people who voted for blondie say that? These are our options, blondie wins, If they don't make her blonde in the trialer, Bioware's team has balls the size of snow peas.

I'll only be truly disappointed if they don't release the codes for them soon. They can put whomever on the box, but I just want the codes so I can get started playing with them in ME1. It's gonna take until ME3 releases to finish their playthroughs anyway!

It'd be pretty absurd for BioWare to significantly alter the winning design based on the comments. #5 has, what, 30,000 "likes"... to something like 3,000 comments?slimgrin wrote...

Pretty much this, only 10% of those that voted for Blonde shep made a comment (there is also no proof that those commenting in the blonde shep section even voted for blonde femshep). I would estimate of that 10% around half expressed a preference for a different hair colour. Then of that the preference is either for brown, black or red.slimgrin wrote...

I would be pretty shocked if Bioware altered the hair colour based on a 1000 odd comments and totally ignoring the nearly 29,000 votes that blonde shep got. At the end of the day they offered us 6 possible FemSheps you voted for the one you like the most and the one with the most votes wins.
Now if you don't want a blonde Shepard then you shouldn't have voted for a blonde Shepard (regardless of whether you liked the hairstyle).

That's not true. It's quite acceptable to vote for Blone femshep if Blonde femshep was the best of the six choices. That doesn't preculde preferring a different colour.
We'll never really know until someone does a poll of #5 with different colours.

Hm think I have had this argument before
It is very simple, we were giving 6 femsheps to choose from (I choose number 5 primarily because I want a blonde femshep). You look at the 6 femsheps and decide which you feel fits what you want and you vote. You should not be voting for Blonde femshep if you think that Bioware will change her hair colour to suit your tastes.

Wow, I normally had reservations about voting polls and their small sample size relative to the general population but the similiarities in the BSN and FB results is interesting, despite the huge disparity in the "votes" and "likes". It's a given that #5 wins, now it's just a matter of waiting for BW to make the trailer and produce other promo material with FemShep.

Yeah, made my male Shepard blonde too. There just aren't that many blonde people in Mass Effect universe. I guess blonde hair is a regressive gene or something and they just supress it in genetheraphy.

Problem is... no one wants that hairstyle that the redhead has.
(I voted for number 4... so... lmao)

Its not a perfect system. Yes there are some big flaws in it. But Bioware have given people a choice and its down to each individual to decide whats most important.

To be honest Bioware suddenly saying they're changing the # 5 hair's color seems pretty stupid. And it will enrage some people that actually voted for her.
So deal with it. She's blonde.

Which is why they would be better served to allowed her hair color to be changed at the CC screen.

I don't disagree with that. I'm just saying if you voted for #5 you voted for how she looks totally. Including the hair.
And if it's the one that wons (which seems pretty likely), it will be blonde, not redheaded.
Wheter of not they let players customize it later I don't know. It would be cool but seeing as we can't modify Sheploo, I wouldn't count too much on it.

It's scary how upset people are getting over this. Though I don't get how being a soldier makes you look older... or if it's required that you look older to be a soldier. In space. After being resurrected. I'm 25 and I'm told I look 12-19, no military for me.
It's not my Shepard so it doesn't really affect me.

I don't know if this has been
posted since I haven't been following this topic for a good few days but
what the hell. As some will know a few days ago a Kim Richards posted
an "article" on PCgamer that was less than flattering about Blonde
Femshep 5. Well it seems it rubbed another girl the wrong way and she
did a rebuttal which you can read :-
http://www.gamerevol...s-fine-bitches?
It is a pretty decent read and kinda rips poor old Kim Richards apart.
I agree with this article. One of my fave female characters of all time is blonde. The original Nikita
The comments on it kinda suck. Dudes that can't make a nice looking Shepard saying it's impossible (just cause you fail at it doesn't mean it's impossible guys)
