You know it IS possible to have dark eyebrows and light hair. I've several friends who's eyebrows are dark brown and their hair is naturally blonde.

Just throwing it out there.

Thank you. Jeez, people thought I was crazy when I said that.

It's true. I have red hair and my eyebrows are dark brown! It's definitely possible.

Did the majority of people who voted for blondie say that? These are our options, blondie wins, If they don't make her blonde in the trialer, Bioware's team has balls the size of snow peas.

Just to get technical and play a bit of devil's advocate, 41% is not a majority. Greater than 50% is a majority.

Using a majority rationale, the final Shepard should have dark hair, since 50% voted for a dark haired Shepard on Facebook, and 51% voted for a dark haired Shepard on BSN. (#1, #3, #4, and #6 all have dark hair and the votes do equal a majority).

I agree, the chance that she'll be blonde with long hair is huge, but until Bioware says otherwise and we see the final outcome, everything can change and nothing is set in stone, especially when marketing is involved.

I like #1 and #5 the best. I think I voted for #5. However I think they should just do a high-res version of "Jane" and/or give femShep Jennifer Hale's likeness (JMO).

On the whole eyebrow color discussion extravaganza:

For the most natural look, her eyebrows should match her hair’s base color –roots and all the hair beneath the crown area – which btw doesn’t necessarily means her hair is chemically treated. Yes, her eyebrows can be darker, or lighter – just not dramatically so – meaning, not pitch-black but not” yellow” (or same shade as the actual hair) either. It can happen to have eyebrows in that same blonde color, and that usually means having a lighter skin tone as well – but most girls tend to darken them (with either dye or makeup) because it may make you look a bit expressionless, especially if they are too light. That is, with most cases, let me emphasize that I’m speaking in general here and I don’t mean this to be taken personally by anyone.

Now, assuming Shepard's a natural blonde (and it looks that way in the mockup pic as well as in the hair color option as presented in the two previous games, but even if not), it should be a dark-medium ashy blonde color – and the game actually has that option, I believe coded “5” (coincidence? LOL) in ME2’s Character Creator. The next best option would be “6” (darker), while not the ideal or most natural-looking for that particular shade of blonde, if you’re going for a “stronger” sort of look it’s perfectly acceptable if not best, and it may come down to a taste matter at that point so rock on.
Anything that’s darker or lighter, at least based on the color options available to us so far, will look “wrong” or “fake” or whatever you want to call it. Or just not the most natural or best-looking, like I said.

Edit:
Her eyebrows did look sort of kinda dark to me at first in #5's picture, but on closer inspection it doesn't look that bad at all. I think she looks fantastic, actually. More than the hair thing, I think, it's a lot about Shepard's eyes in that image,so maybe, had #5 been given lighter eyebrows, she'd lose a bit of that "impact", so to speak, especially compared to the others. :P

I don't know about you guys, but No5 is the only one that kinda actually resembles femShep in my mind - it doesn't have to do anything with blond hair, it0s just her facial structure - No5 is the one.

Eh, about a half of them look pretty much identical face-structure-wise.

Considering there are a bunch of face-structures to choose from in game, there's no way for one to "resemble femShep more"
This debate is endless. Every femShep is different. There is no one right way for her to look.

Don't know why they didn't use the default femshep from ME1 :/. She's still my favorite. Out of these I like number 5 the best.

Actually, you can see for yourself that both models have pretty much same nose, eye shape, but what they don't have is same facial structure and skin tone and texture. So no, femShep No5 has better face shape for me - the ratio between chin wideness and jaw wideness is better.

Still its quite evident that one designer made all of them from a base design which they then tweaked. Nothing wrong with that at all.  Its just interesting to see how they have been constructed when you look closely at the similarities.
Actually now I said it, im curious as to the designer now :)

I dont think the people who picked up those pics come onto the social network or know about this thread.  I think for those close-ups we will have to wait for Bioware to give us something.

Me too. And is that space dust or does blonde femShep has a beauty spot under her eye?

space dust  hehe

I think its a nice beauty spot.   I really quite like it.  Adds a bit more to her appearance and makes her look more human, rather then a "perfect human" appearance like Miranda has.

^ That would be so utterly stupid. I'm male and I play Female Shepard. But just because I'm male I can't vote? Seriously that's the most retarded thing I've ever heard.

I have the same rights to vote as anyone else.

Also to vote what would we have to do? Present our passport? Don't be stupid.

Moving on, do you realize people vote the one they like most? And well to some degree the poll was made to vote the most prettier (not hot) Shepard in your opinion.

/rant over.

Woah Woah, Calm down! There’s no need for a rant, I was just making a broad retrospective suggestion.
Maybe I should have mentioned that I am also a male and also like playing as Female Shepard. Maybe I sounded like some man hating feminist in my comment, if so, it was unintentional.

I’m sure there would be a relatively easy way to limit the voting to females. I’m not familiar with Facebook (I have no friends), but don’t you give your gender when you register?

Of course I realize people are voting for the one they like the most. Did I give any indication that I wasn’t well aware of that fact?

By “hot” I guess I meant sexually attractive. To clarify my point, it was obvious which candidate was going to win from the outset. This was because the largely male voters were always going the vote for the one deemed the most sexually attractive in popular culture. In this case the blond haired, blue eyed Caucasian. This made the vote obsolete and boring.

The reason I suggested the vote should be excusive to females is simply because it would have been less boring. This is because votes would not be primarily based on sexual attractiveness. I honestly don’t know which candidate would win in a female exclusive vote and would be more curious about the result.

None of this matters anyway because, as I have said, Shepard’s appearance is decided by the player. However I do wish we could have a few more variables in this area.

Issue is how many variables is enough though? You will forever be tweaking the design if bioware opened it up any more. Having six options is a good amount I feel as it shows enough variety. You just need to choose what most important to you. Anyway everyones opinion is valid as femshep can be played by everyone. I think each of them looks capable and a lot of the criticisms against blonde Shepard are unwarranted.

Heres a very good blog entry as well.

Why is it boring and obsolete if the most popular one wins? Ok I can see why you would say it's boring at this point a week after the poll started and #5 has built an insurmountable lead, but why the "obsolete" part?

Oh? I think she looks attractive like that, all red Terminator eyes and red glowing scars and putting on the puppy dog eyes when Liara has relationship jitters.
