I don't believe I've ever said anything about hair. Long hair is okay with me, as long as it is on a ponytail or braided. It's a far better option than the #4 type, short that gets into your eyes.Dragoonlordz wrote...

I wouldn't call her pug-faced. In fact, I find her fairly attractive, and I adore the fact that she is that in a non-stereotypical way. These new ones all seem to fall into the "hey, let's make a basic good-looking female" category, and consequently are pretty predictable. Not to mention too young.
You call her what you want and I'll call her what I want, being different for the sake of being different is no better than being sterotypical. You don't have to have short hair to be a strong female and you don't have to always look trim and proper if your constantly fighting in fact I would say the opposite is better, long hair unkempt and sligthly messy is better than short and tidy.
The main reason why I prefer game characters with short hair is that so far in every game I've played, the graphics get confused, and I end up with a char whose hair goes straight through her armor collar or shoulder pads. If they decide on a long-haired default FemShep, they hopefully will have fixed that issue.

I think of it more as pissed off sort of look, lets face it everyone always shooting at them, council always calling them liars and surrounded by death so no matter how much they think the hills are alive with the sound of music... In the end they wont be happy bunny at way universe treated them and situation its in which means imho the faces look about right expression wise personally.

I voted for #1. But it's difficult to see their facial features, an image zoomed on the face would have been better. #5 is good too, I just don't see Shepard as a blond.
Xhyn Shep for president!
Its the No.1 face on the face database for a reason.

Not only do ALL the choices look like 17 years old supermodels, and NOT experienced marines, like FemShep is, but it is absolutely degrading and just sad that the appearance of FemShep is put to the vote.
Here I thought things were looking up when it was announced that FemShep would get an own trailer and would be on the boxart...but apparently Femshep will not finally be acknowledged as an equal counterpart to MaleShep, but is thrown to the mercy of the fans and degraded to a stupid beautycontest to determine who is the "hottest spacebabe".
Seriously Bioware? You let the people decide who declared Jack too ugly? Ashley too manly? The people who create mods to show more cleavage on the female characters? The people who altered Miranda's face because it wasn't pretty enough for them?
Is that really the direction you want ot take? Why can't you design an equal to MaleShep? A seasoned, experienced female Soldier and present to us YOUR design, and then STAND TO IT.
Let the haters rant, but PLEASE don't stoop down to this levela and don't make FemShep a friggin Fanservice for those who want to look at a hot woman when playing the game.

Would love to see 35 year old female Shepard there.
But hey, it's only default Shepard. Don't worry about it too much. People take this thing WAY too seriously.

Do you realise the hypocrisy in your own statement where in reality you are the hater ranting because you don't like the popular opinion. Heres the truth for you the most popular will sell the most games as it appeals to the larger audience. That is why in films and such actresses like Kate Beckinsale are used more because they sell more. Thats just how the cookie crumbles. If they pick the most popular they will make more money, simple reason regardless of your attacks on others for liking one thing more than the other and why they picked it; its what they like the most and if the majority like it the most then it will sell more copies.
You might feel bitter about being part of a minority and rage about why you think others are wrong but thats life and just because your opinion differs doesn't make everyone elses stupid or free to attack.

This is the main thing that bugs me in this whole issue. Because they did. Fine, Jane didn't have a real-life face model like Sheploo does, but she works. She's credible, she's realistic - all things considered - and she's appealing. Was there really a good reason to replace her with supermodels with too much make-up? If there was, I'd like someone to share it.Yenaquai wrote...

Edit: Marketing-wise, most fans would have recognized the Jane model in the trailers. Now, those who aren't as obsessed forum and Facebook freaks as we are, are going to go: "Who the h*ll is that?"
