Five looks spookily like my FemShep... so I voted for her.
In my opinion I do actually think she looks seasoned, and dangerous. I don't think blonde hair would necessarily make her less so.
But I don't believe it matters a huge deal.
I assume the mass extent of people will import their ME1/ ME2 characters anyway, so if anyone really hates the default femshep they choose they'll only have to suffer it through marketing, not the game.

I picked it back when voting was in the hundreds and because it was what I felt was personally the best shepard...it was either that or 4 for me...and 4 ended up reminding me too much of a pop star...

If you read the majority of posts its the hairstyle as most people are saying they love that one the most and would wish they would change the hair colour to red or darker so it's not the blonde aspect.

In the end 5 will win because of the style and will probably change to red due to popular opinion expressed here that 5 with red hair is what the majority of people are saying would like.

It's the hairstyle... as I wouldn't mind 5 either... if she had dark brown or black hair.

I'd prefer if Jane was an option, she was way better than these.

4 and 6 look like a 14 year old emo/goth girl. 1-3 all look like butch lesbians and not soldiers like they are trying to be portrayed as. 5 would probably be my first choice if I had to choose... but I don't really like that one either as she looks like a supermodel and again, not like a soldier. Still, since none of them look realistic, she's the 'hottest' option and i'd prefer to get a hot Shepard if we can't have a realistic looking one.

I like #5 a smidgen more than the others, though #1 and #2 are also good. #5 with red hair would be even more awesome, though. Most of my FemSheps have red hair... except for the Renegade ones, who are blonde... I'm weird.

I find it funny how people assume great looking women can't fight or they are inferior in any way. That an attractive woman can't possibly fire a gun or fire it accuratley or that she could not ever be someone with charisma enough to lead a team into battle. Being attractive actually has more of positive influence of forming groups and peoples following, being good looking physically has no affect on ones ability to fight.

I don't think anyone has said that. However, people have disagreed on what is a good-looking woman, which is fairly common. Also, by now Shepard is supposed to be in her early thirties. These models are not, which is the main problem to a lot of people. Thirty-something woman can easily be attractive, but the way to make her look attractive is not to cut ten years off her age.

Am I the only one bothered by how low the side part is on #5's hair? This seems to be a constant thing with female hairstyles in ME. The parts are super long and reallllly far to one side, comb-over style. For long hair I prefer Miranda's style (which is kind of what my hair is like IRL) or the ponytail on #3. Both look more like real hair. My hair would not do what #5's is doing unless I used a lot of hair spray as natural parts fall closer to the top of the head.

FemShep5's face is no bueno for me. FemShep3 is Near-Flawless. Face wise FemShep3 wins without a doubt imo, she would get more votes if she had FemShep5 hair I think. Either way, FemShep3 gets my vote!

how do you guys know that option 3 has a ponytail? .... and if she does... I hope to god it's not that awful version from the first 2 games.... ponytails don't stick up in the air and stay there without swaying or moving at all! =/

What I find funny is how everyone's trying to make the best-looking custom femshep they can, but are bothered by a hot default. 

Number Five all the way for me, although I do agree that it'd be better with a dark color. Red, or black maybe.

EDIT: And, jeez, what do people have against blondes? If official FemShep's white, I'd rather she had a hair colour that stood out, rather than be another brunette along with Ash and Miranda.
