Number 5 however does to me personally fit the beautiful yet strong woman style I can imagine in Mass Effect. Being attractive is just as strong as being unattractive.

The images are all the same, no variance in the facial structure at all (let alone body shape and size). All we are seeing are different hairstyles, skintones and makeup. I guess this may be the next default Shep if the ME and ME2 Shep is a goner. But it won't a difference anyway, as the PC can be made up to one's liking in the character creation screen in-game. Honestly, the character looks like a FF clone.

If this was some choice for cover art or the like, I could see making a choice.

Childish or not it's still their reason for not liking number 5. I think she's ugly. To top it off she's blonde which I find unattractive with a limited number of exceptions. Childish or not these are my reason for not liking number 5. I like black fem shep and red head fem shep. If they won I wouldn't be posting on the forums "deal with it" every other post. That would be.... childish.

Only the dumb blonde ones are childish. But the rest are pretty reasonable. Like mine:

Blonde: it is a Stereotype of the beautiful woman. Whether it is true or not (it isn't in my book) is irrelevant but it feels like a copout for going the pretty face route.
Hair Style: type of hairstyle for a fact isn't very viable in a military army like the alliance. That hair would get in her way in the middle of a fight.

I play defaults in all Character creator games, so getting #5 would suck in my book.

You have the ability to make your own via custom character creator so getting vicious or aggressive towards what ends up being picked which seems to be number five is childish imho thats the aspect of some peoples attitudes on here I was talking about. I happen to like 5 yes I admit though I prefer darker hair you don't see me screaming "Oh dear god NOOOOOO!" At the thought of blonde etc. If I happened to like one other than 5 I would go "Meh I'll make my own femshep" and move on.

We have people running around without armor at all and you're worried about hair being her face? Breaking news: Shepard can be blind for all we care, as long you are can see, you'll hit the target.

I understand the 'hair is in her face' argument, which is one of my main complaints about 4 and 5. It's my biggest problem with new Ashley, too. :/

Another interesting note is that people seams to believe that the one that "wins" would be the final version. It isn't stated anywhere officially as far as I have seen. Bioware is asking for opinions, not the final choice - the final decision is still in their hands. Going with the most popular version is not always the best decision in the end, so I wouldn't assume that he are getting 5th Shep exactly as we see her until I actually see her officially confirmed.

Oh, I have no doubt they'll be changed. I'm actually kind of hoping whichever wins will be made to look a little less doll-faced and will have less makeup piled on. But you can only judge them against each other based on what we see right now.

Um the most popular when both consisting of the Bioware fanbase polls here and the general population who aren't on here via facebook as a more varied state of opinion.. Is the best decision... By siding with a minority opposed to the majority you end up upsetting the majority rather than the minority.

I'm also pretty sure it will take place given if turned around and said pick the one want to see in game and turn around and say "haha just kidding", the 15,000+ people aren't going to be happy they took part in something was asked to do then ignored.

Except Ashley's hair isn't in her face. It just looked that way from a specific angle, in another shot we could see clearly that it wasn't the case.
