I don't like any of these. They all look too young. Shepard is in her early thirties.
As long as she looks like she's in her early 20's but looks battle-hardened (like Aris Ravenstar's photoshop - see sig and avatar), I'm happy.
I like your avatar. I'd have pegged her at 24-26, which is... acceptable. There is something about the set of the cheeks and texture of the skin that makes her look appropriately aged. I would like to change my vote to "Aris Ravenstar's photoshop."
If I might ask, what is it about a FemShep in her early 20's that appeals to you?
On a related note I would submit that the rigors of military life and the stresses of combat being what they are, Shepard should, if anything, look older than her years.
I sort of see early 20's as a nice balance between keeping with the lore, but not to the point that it's inconsistent with the way they've already made people look in the games.
According to the books, humans generally look younger than humans today (big medical advances, of which one consequence has been longer life expectancy (~150, I think?) and another is that people generally look younger by today's standards (e.g. Kahlee Sanders, despite being in her late 30's/early 40's still looked like she was in her 20's - so apparently anyone with reasonable health care in the 2100's ages like a celebrity).
The problem, however, is that this wasn't really reflected in the games - I think all the human characters we've seen whose ages we know look how they would look if they were in our time. So basically, early 20's, to me, is a nice balance between being respectful to the lore, without being jarringly in contrast to everyone already seen in the game. Plus, it would indeed be easy to explain that since Shepard is a very busy soldier, as you say, that that will add a few years to her appearance; and we can say the same for folks like Anderson, Kaidan, etc..

Do they allow you to modify the default Sheploo? I would love to tweak any of the choices. It annoyed me to no end that I couldn't tweak the default Femhawke in DA2.
We weren't able to tweak the default FemSheps in ME1 or ME2 either so I'm guessing no. If a facecode system is implemented for ME3 like in ME2 would be neat if the default facecodes were supplied so players could enter them in the CC and then alter as they like.

I think all of them should be presets, but 5 is the one i like the most.
I agree with this, I would want them all to be presets, I think that would be fair, the one who wins is the default and the one who appears in trailers etc. The rest can appear in the game as presets. I would like #1 to win though

I don't want to seem like a troll; I seriously am curious about the eyebrows. As for the eyeliner, I guess its because she's a bad-ass. The heavy eyeliner works better on the short haired Ellen DeGeneres (sp?) Shep, or the darker skinned ones.
I voted for 5 anyway.

Yet, Bioware has a history of being "progressive", so in an effort for them not to be called a racist company; I would wager they would pick four.
Interesting on how the one who actually does look racially black doesnt have the fro or even dreadlock hair, which a stable of their heritage.
Its a shame you cant go all the way, Bioware. Put a nice afro on number four and push it to be the top choice, or is that a bit too un-politically correct for you right now?
After all, we all know in this day and age of the racist whiteys who are oh-so-pretty. We need them to have traits of all kinds so we wont see a difference between them.

Why does the blonde have black eyebrows and Jack Sparrow eyeliner?

someone mentioned earlier that natural blondes can have darker eyebrows and I can't say if that's wrong or right, but I think it's because it's supposed to give the impression of dyed hair, since natural blondes are all but extinct (the only one we know of is kahlee sanders and her color is more of a dark blonde, nothing quite so bright as this femshep's)

+1
5 is my least favourite cos she's blonde (all my sheps are raven, personal choice) I really want to use that hair. I just hope it isn't locked to the preset. Dont really mind whos in the trailer/CE just want the hair options!!

I wish they'd allow us to make minor modifications to her, even though she's gonna be the high res preset, but I'm happy with how she looks.
Hopefully she translates well in game.

And both are racial slurs, while ''blondie'' is most definitely not. Because, you know, there is no such thing as a ''blonde'' race.Nyoka wrote...
Yes, and darkie refers to skin color, and slanty-eye refers to the shape of the eyes.

I dont think they need to give her an afro to make the point, as a black man myself i was just happy to see that the time was taken to make a ethnic option for femShep. with the racial blending that is so wide spread today id say they did a great job making and Shep that could be percived as a wide number of ethinc groups
