I don't see any problem with Shep 5 being blonde or too pretty, really. The things that bother me is that she looks too young (they all do, though) and that her hairdo is impractical for a soldier. Jennifer Hale has a very strong and mature voice, and Shepard is a very strong character. I feel that that should be reflected in FemShep's face. Having long hair is fine, but it should be pulled back. Otherwise it is guaranteed to end up getting in her face and likely getting her killed. I would prefer FemShep to have red hair, really, but that is mostly for the sake of tradition.

Dude.

You need to realize that the world does not operate on a "What charmingcharlie would have done" basis. I know that's shocking and all, and you probably need some time, but just because you have an opinion on how it "should" have been done, doesn't mean everyone else agrees.

Eurhetemec "Dude" it isn't a case of the "world operating on what charmingcharlie would have done".  It is a case of "the basics of actually voting" if you want a femshep with red hair then you would vote for the femshep with red hair.  If you did not vote for the red haired femshep then it obviously was not that big a deal for your then was it ?

Eurhetemec wrote...
Lots of people have voted for 5 and said they wanted it with red or brown or even black hair. I know you think they should have voted for the red head, and said they wanted hair 5, but dude, that's not what they did, so trying to claim that because they didn't, their opinions shouldn't count, makes no sense.

There are just as many comments going "yeah blonde hair femshep woo hoo" but hey lets ignore them and the 25,000 that voted for a blonde haired femshep just because of a small vocal minority TROLLING the blonde femshep thread shall we.  The fact that red femshep isn't even polling half the votes as all the other femsheps pretty much says to me that red hair is not that popular and I would say some of the other hairstyles the femsheps have are absolutely awful yet they are still getting more votes than red haired femshep.

Just compare femshep 3 to femshep 2 they both look near damn identical the only difference is the colour of their hair yet femshep 3 has over twice the number of votes as red haired shep.

I'd say #5.

I like the idea of a kind of dirty blonde and messy hair for Shepard.

I think #5 also has a stronger looking, less feminine (not saying it looks masculine, just less feminine), no nonsense face in comparison to the other 5, which would suit Shepard as Shepard is a strong no nonsense character.

So yeah #5.

Funny, because a lot of the people hating on #5 claim that it looks too girly. hah

I think some people just see blonde hair and blue eyes and think girly, which is just racist.

All the other ones have a much less defined jaw bone and pointier chin, which makes them (to me) look girly.

I still stick by what I first posted.

Edit: perhaps people would notice it more if #5 was aged to look her age rather than looking like a 22 year old.

It's like saying only ugly woman can be strong. Come on. So what the new Shep is hot? Male Shep has the face of a model, something. Get over it.

Dude. Charlie.

From your perspective, they should be voting on the basis of hair color.

From their perspective, they should be voting on the basis of hair style.

Its that simple. They want 5's style but 3's color, so they vote for 5 but mention they want a color change.

They COULD vote for 3 and say they want 5's style, but they don't. That's it, end of story.

And in all reality, it makes more sense for them to vote for style anyway. Know why?

Cause if they all voted for 3 but wanted 5's style of hair, Bioware would(if they chose to) have to redesign 3 to have 5's hair style.

By voting for 5 and asking for 3's color, all it takes is a color swap edit.

I don't mean to say anyone has to look ugly, none of them could be described as ugly.

What they need is a strong striking face (much like maleshep), and I think that's #5, everyone has a right to completely disagree, this is a discussion after all.

True, the eye liner is a tad strong, a lot of the girls at my high school wore their eyes like that.

Perhaps that's what makes them look younger than some would like.

Dude. LPPrince yes they should be voting on the basis of hair colour if that is what is important to them. If they do not care about the hair colour then that is another matter.  I voted for No. 5 based on the hair colour because I WANT a blonde female shepard.  I don't particularly like the hairstyle but since No.5 is the only one with that hair colour I voted for her.

If red is the colour someone prefers and it is important to them, then I would have thought it would be blatantly obvious that you should vote for the femshep that has red hair.

Yes and as I said that isn't the correct way to get what you want, if red haired femshep demonstrated a strong trend of polling high say 15,000 or 20,000 votes you would get Bioware going "hm what is going on here ?"  Instead by voting for 5 they are saying "yeah blonde femshep".

I would also like to say we have no evidence to suggest those making comments in the blonde femshep section have even voted for No.5. As far as I am aware you can make a comment in the blonde section without even voting.  All those going "yeah hairstyle boo blonde make her red" are doing is trolling and trying to undermine the vote for blonde femshep.

Please tell me you are not serious with that comment ? it would take Bioware all of five seconds to shove the hairstyle from 5 onto 3 and do a quick colour change.

To me these FemSheps look like paintings, not photorealistic renderings. The skin is too airbrushed, the features too 'perfect' and the hair too much like paintbrush strokes. But I still think they're pretty. I would like to see the in-engine versions of these, though.

from what i keep reading everyone seems to think that being in your very early 30s means you look so old and worn out. with all that she does with working out and being rebuilt I feel she has a right to look rather young

lol, agreed and Number two with her short red hair and dark eyeliner on reminds me of a realistic, female version of "Gaara" from Naruto.

If red is the colour someone prefers and it is important to them, then I would have thought it would be blatantly obvious that you should vote for the femshep that has red hair.

There are several reasons why it's not blatantly obvious:

1) Hair style can be more important than colour for the voter but that doesn't mean that the colour is unimportant. I dislike #1 and #2's hairstyle so much that I would be horrified if #1 or #2 ever won. For that reason I would never vote for either even though I prefer the hair colour to #5.  I actually like #5 with blonde hair but I prefer #5 with darker hair so #5 is an acceptable option (even if I can't change the colour) and the others aren't.

2) At this stage (in fact, pretty much from the start) it is blatantly obvious that #5 is going to win. What's the point of voting for an option that's not going to win and making a comment to change it if you can vote for the one that will win and make a comment to change it? Your way there's no chance of getting what we want and our way there's a possibility.

It's a bit moot in my case, though, as I haven't managed to work out how to vote :D

I agree that long hair should be pulled back for practicality's sake... but if we're all okay with marketing Shep going into battle without a helmet -- and that's never going to change -- this really shouldn't be an issue. That, far more than any hairstyle, is what's silly. (Though I find #4 and #6's immaculate hair to be a special kind of absurd)

The original default FemShep had a pretty impractical hair style, too, as I recall. The only way it wouldn't get in her eyes all the time is if it were made of plastic. (Which it might as well be, in game)

Tweaking and aging her a little like the above image would work wonders (and yes, I know they are/might be all still concepts). And while I voted for NatShep #1, I would accept BlondeShep more if they could either:

A - Darken her hair to match those jet-black eyebrows.

                                     -Or-

B - Lightened her eyebrows to match her hair. Similar to Katie Sackhoff/Starbuck below.

And just for the heck of it, here also is an image of Katie with red hair and eyebrows.

Then obviously hair colour is not as important to you as the hairstyle is.  If No. 2 was the only one with blonde hair I would've have voted for No. 2 rather than go and vote for a totally different Femshep and then spend the rest of the contest trolling in that comment section demanding that my preference should be altered because of my comments.

Well that is defeatist talk, just because an option is winning does not mean you should throw the towel in because it looks like other femsheps are out of the game.  You should vote for the one you want to vote for, then if several Shepards get a good strong showing vote wise it would make Bioware think that maybe they should do an mix of the heavyily voted sheps.

Even if you make a comment in the blonde fem section you still won't get it changed.  If you vote for blonde femshep then it will be blonde femshep you get.  There have been nearly 25,000 votes for blonde femshep and less than 10% have made a comment.  Now of those 10% I would say at best half have expressed a preference for a different colour and at least half again have suggest black, red, blue, purple, green or day glo pink.  In short the 25,000 that have voted for blonde shep is all that will matter to Bioware not a few desenting voices in the comments section.

It is fairly easy you need a face book account first of all.  Then you go here :-

http://www.facebook....11091644&type=1

You have to "like" Mass Effect 2 before you can vote.  Once you have "liked" Mass Effect 2 then select the femshep you want and you should see a "like" button under the picture, just click that and you have voted.  You can only vote once for each femshep.  You can however vote for several of the femsheps, so if you like 1, 2 4 and 6 you can vote for 1, 2, 4 and 6.

How is it trolling to vote for something but voice an opinion to have it slightly changed?

That's my point. It's perfectly possible to feel that hair style is more important but still feel the need to comment that you'd prefer a change to the colour. I personally feel that this describes a large section of the people who voted for #5.

As it happens, now that I got my vote I voted for #3 and made a comment that I'd prefer #5's hair style. Then I made a comment in #5 that I'd prefer Black or Red  hair.

Hedging my bets :D

I actually prefer #3 to #5 as is but prefer black-haired #5 to both. I really dislike #1 and #2 though so there's no way I'd vote for them.
