I was thrown the most off by the comparison to Adrianna Lima.

NOTHING CLOSE.

If she DID look like Adrianna Lima, albeit a more battle ready one, I might've actually picked her. lol

Yeah, I don't see that at all.

To me she looks a lot like this particular image of Aishwarya Rai, but with Holly Conrad's hair.

Why does everyone hate blondes

They don't, otherwise blondeShep wouldn't be winning the polls.

Personally I don't care about her hair colour, but #5's hair is an impractical mess.

What about it is impractical?

The way I see it(goes to see it again before I stick my foot in my mouth), her hair isn't long enough to get in the way and the longest parts are behind her ears(which means the hair won't move in game).

I think #4's is the most impractical. Now THAT is over her eye, unless it only looks that way because she's pointing downwards.

I agree that #4's is most impractical, but she isn't the one who's winning, so I didn't mention her. Of course #5's won't move in game because it's tucked behind the ear, but you could say that #4's hair isn't impractical because it won't affect her in-game in combat. From a realistic point of view, tucking long hair behind your ears (with a few strands hanging in the face in an artful-messy style) isn't practical for a soldier/ex-soldier either. Especially when compared with Sheloo's very military buzz cut. Which is why I prefer #3.

Hmm. Makes sense.

Although shoulder length hair in the military(some I imagine as not all work the same) is acceptable for women, so I can see #5 as making sense.

#4 though is just begging to ****** off her superiors however.

As a Spectre that's not an issue, but a competent Spectre would know not to walk around looking like that unless you're on assignment as an undercover agent that has to look the part of a civilian.

A. I love Aishwarya Rai(not really, but you get what I mean from a movie stand point), so you get points for putting a picture of her on here
B. But I don't see Aish in her AT ALL. Like, at all.

I don't think she looks particularly like her normally (aside from the stunning eyes), but in that particular image and angle I see a resemblance.

I thought they had to tie it back? I suppose I just like to think it would be more equal in the future (like if men have to cut their hair short in the military, then so do women).

Heh, I think #4's hairstyle might suit a renegade in that "F*ck you, I do whatever I want" way renegade's have. Posted Image Not Alliance-approved. And I doubt it would present a great image for a Spectre.

I also haven't seen any nasty racist comments about #4 on FB at all (what about #6 btw?) (if they do exist show me, and I will help report them)

On FB it looks like either I've lost track of the racist comments, or they've been deleted, and I'm guessing it's the latter, so that's good.

On here, even in this thread, if you go back through it, you'll see people calling number 4 stuff like "Beyonce" (which just makes no sense - might as well call #5 "Glenn Close" or something equally crazy)and so on. In some of the now-closed FemShep threads there's even nastier stuff, like saying she "should be on stage in a bikini" (I mean seriously what?) or that she looks like a dumb [word that gets blanked out by BSN]. I'm not disagreeing that there's more against #5, but that's because she's winning and that makes dimwits mad. I hate to think what sort of stuff would be being said if #4 was winning.

Like I was saying re: #6, it's weird, I've not seen anything nastier than "I don't like her hair". I think she's so racially indeterminate that people just assume she's their own racial group.

I have to admit I saw Aishwarya Rai (though I didn't know that was her name, just an Indian actress I recognised) when I saw #6 too.

I don't even see the eyes as being similar. Then again, its a real person(and one of the most beautiful ones, at that) against art of a fiction person.

So ehh, not like I'm gonna expect Aish's eyes on anyone.

Although Morrigan's eyes stunned me about as much as Aish's.

I thought the comparisons were to Rihanna, not Beyoncé.

Which frankly, I'd think #4 would take as a compliment as both are attractive and unattractive, to some folks or to those who find them otherwise in certain photos.

Rihanna comparisons I have no objection to. She's had that haircut, and she's got a vaguely similar face. That's perfectly sane, like comparing 1 to Winona Ryder, or 6 to Ms. Rai. But when I say Beyonce I mean Beyonce - people have made that comparison and it makes no sense. Don't ask me lol!

------I went looking through #4 comments on FB and she mostly get's compared to Rihanna the most. I think #6 is barely getting anything said about her mostly becuase votingfor her is very rare now.I think she's the lowest(only has about 2,000
votes)

As I pointed out natural blonds are extremely rare in ME universe, but that doesn't that they don't exist. Kahlee Sanders from the novels is described as a "natural dirty blond" and she also mentions that people still dye their hair and wear contact lens that change their eye color (IIRC blue eyes are also very rare in the ME universe) so yeah it can happen. I also stated that I would have liked a silver (not grey but silver) to make her look more like an albino which is also rare.

But I rather think Shepard dyeing her hair blonde would be a more likely scenario than an albino Shepard.

I really don't want an albino Shepard. That'd throw me for a loop all the time.

Just because of the fact that that is ridiculously rare, I'd imagine even more so in the ME universe with advancements in medical tech.

Although there was that one albino guy at the party in Kasumi's Stolen Memory.

#4 and #6 are too emo and/or vampire for me. We must stop the Twilight incursions into Mass Effect canon. I like # 1 and think she looks the most like a soldier, but I was put off because of everyone saying she looks like Natalie Portman. No. Natalie Portman does not embody FemShep for me at all. And have you seen Black Swan? Creepy. I'd like #5 with maybe red or brown hair, but I'll take her as a blonde too. I do have a thing for blondes, so that kind of sells it for me.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure that they have the technology in the ME universe to select eye and hair color at birth (we're getting closer to that technology now even).  Is that the case?  Because it wouldn't be far-fetched if blonde FemShep's parents selected blonde hair for her.

True, but a lot of people today grow up watching television and movies where people in their late 20's ande 30's portray teenagers, they think people who appear 28 look like teenagers because they constantly see people who are 28 and are told they are teenagers.

I wasnt even going to mention that the average lifespan of a human in the ME universe is 150, since I think she only looks slightly younger then the appropriate age which is fine by me, but others have brought it up.  If people are living to be a 150 but the aging process has not been slowed at all I think I would still want to check out by 100.

It's typical of white American males to go with the blonde everytime. I'm not a white male and I would like it if a game would portray one of their main characters as a person of color. Instead, it's the same ol same ol. Oh well, I won't lose any sleep over it and like I said, I'm not surprised that the obvious choice is what won out in the end.
