Shame and not surprised because...why?

I've got to admit, #5 has a very marketable appearance.

It's typical of white American males to go with the blonde everytime. I'm not a white male and I would like it if a game would portray one of their main characters as a person of color. Instead, it's the same ol same ol. Oh well, I won't lose any sleep over it and like I said, I'm not surprised that the obvious choice is what won out in the end.

I personally am attracted to white blondes, but I would not mind if Shepard had darker skin.  There are girls who have darker skin who I do find very attractive.  I just don't like the design of the only darker-skinned Shepard.  She looks way too emo for me.  And that is a huge turn off for me.

I am as well attracted to blondes, and a blonde can totally be a badass. Hence part of the reason for the vote.

I agree it should be a person of mix or color in that age. But white males are what play mass effect mostly so I guess that's there excuse.

Although I myself being a gay blonde hate dating someone who looks like me....so are straight white men really not more attracted to women of color more so?

"I'm not a racist because I'm not white but I love to sterotype white American males because I know everyhing about them"

That's what I got from your post and I loled.. :P

I'm a minority (Asian) myself but why do we have to bring race into EVERYTHING?

I wasn't the first one to bring race into this and I won't be the last. He asked me a question and I answered it honestly.

As a white American male, I have to disagree.  I prefer brunettes...

As a mixed American male, WHY THE HELL IS RACE BEING BROUGHT INTO THIS?

You'd think people could vote for who they like regardless of what country they or their family were born in, sheesh.

Think about all the people who voted for a certain shepard because of the fact she was lighter.....just being the devil's advocate.

Race is always involved. It's life.

Lol it's no different than the gay gamers wanting homosexual relationships or the female gamers/fans of female Shepard wanting a woman on the cover.

I understand that, and you are correct in that assessment, but this just leads to the eventual insults that come of it.

IF the reason for voting for an option is because you're pre-disposed to vote for someone who shares your skin color, I'd keep that inside, because someone's gonna call foul and light the place up with bad word this, bad word that.

I want this thread to remain nice with civil discussions and counter arguments to opinions rather than heading towards the, "*insert race issue thingy here*" thing.

Because somebody thinks America white males are all attracted to blondes.  Nobody cares about being racist towards white americans though...

I would be suprised if anyone did this, the only complaint I have about 5 is that her skin is to light actually, I dont know anyone who has skin that light.  I would prefer her to have dark hair, not because I would not accept her as a blonde but because I prefer dark hair, and am use to Shep having darker hair from the 2 games she has already appeared in.

Despite this I still think 5 is the best choice, the vote may have been different if 1-3 of the options where not identical with a hair style that people obviously would not like in large numbers, 4 has too much hair covering her face for me, but would have gotten my vote if it was pulled back behind her ear, 6 has straight bangs, I dont like straight bangs, I dont know anyone who does, yes, I realize they are out there, I just havent met them.

I didn't insult anyone or say any bad words, I was quite civil in my response. I also never said that all white American males are attracted to blondes, I just said that it was typical and was the reason that I wasn't surprised that the blonde one was indeed picked. There were endless threads about the other two minority groups I mentioned wanting to be represented, yet I just make one post and all of a sudden I get the "WHY ARE YOU BRINGING UP RACE?!?!" response. Why is it acceptable for certain underrepresented groups to have their say but anytime race is brought up, it's an outrage?

I truly believe she was picked because of her hair style, and not the color.  Of the five options available to vote for, her hair was the only style you would actually expect a woman to wear in reality, mayb a little messed up, but an actual hair style, and that has appeal.  Anyone who had a hair style from the other four choices would be  getting a lot of looks for her odd appearance, and that is probably why she chose it in the first place.

I can agree with 4 and 6 from a military standpoint, but the other 3 are rather normal.

Still, it fits the FemShep image. But it would be nice if after she wins we can pick between several hair colors.

Blonde,
Strawberry Blonde,
Black,
Red,
Auburn,
Brown

Why is this topic still up? Isn't the contest over?

It's just a toilet bowl of opinions at this point, festering until it makes everyone in the topic start saying stupid stuff.

I mean seriously...everyone knows dark eyebrows look better with blonde hair than...blonde eyebrows. Haha. Man, anyone born with blonde eyebrows...I feel for you.

I picked the blond.  I am not young or male, though I am white.   I just like the hair cut.  If they had given that cut to any of the others, I'd have picked them.  They are all good choices.
