Kinda interesting to watch though.  Speculating why folks would take such offense to one option over another winning is kinda fun too.

The choices gave a fairly balanced selection of options, its not like BW hedged the bets from the start by making one pretty option and five ugly options.  The fact that one option has such an overwhelming percentage of the votes is a little surprising to me, but it is what it is.

Ugh, I cringed at that. It's basically a horribly written rant by a girl who is jealous she's not blond. She also makes a fool of herself in thinking that video games should be "Realistic" and not have any fighting girls with long hair or something. (ME2 had shoulder length hair)

She's also another person to sterotype #5 just because she has blonde hair.......
-examples "Barbie faced personality vacuum that is Shep 5."
"Now look at Shep 5 again – that is the face of a woman who cares more about her glue-on nails and handbag Chihuahua. "

Then she complains about hair even more, even relating to her own in the real world. Ok, Doesn't she know that Mass Effect is a game, the majority of all games are never realistic(just like the majority of all movies aren't either)

 Next up,she whines about how all people are only voting for #4 just because she's blonde/hot and assumes only men are voting for #5(I'm female and voted #5)T hen she tells people to vote for diversity( bascially telling people to vote 4) . Isn't that a hypocritical? She just accused people of voting for #5 just becuase she's a blonde, LOL, and now she wants people to vote for someone based off skin color?

And the funniest thing is, at the end, she says vote for personality. How? That's the gamers choice of what personality femshep/maleshep will have in game. Hair color/face doesn’t determine personality at all.

I loled at this article.

What an hypocritical article. She says vote for diversity, but look how of the 6 options, 4 have black hair. That's destroys any possible argument. She just has a sterotype inserted in her head that tells her blonde=barbie stupid mindless woman without personality.

Besides it's not like someone is imposing the blonde over the others, people voted the one they liked more.

What a fail. Just that line destroys any beleivability of the article. Well, to be honest just be reading the title you already know it's a biased article.

It's just funny the fact that if the blonde wasn't winning (or winning by far) there wouldn't be so many of these biased comments on it.

Kind of surprised by PCGamer with that one. Its an emotional wreck of a piece that contradicts itself.

I think the writer could have made the article far more constructive as the message is lost completely because of the authors own personal bias and opinion.

What makes me laugh is when she said that. It's like to ask guys to stop looking at porn. It is clear that the mass public will choose the blonde bimbo. It is the realization of a fantasm that will come at the expense of the credibility of female Shepard.

But, well  I do not care of the trailer or advertise. I hope just that in the game, we will have options for default Shepard, or more presets. :happy:

I chose #5 more because of the face rather than the hair style or colour.

It honestly surprises me how heated some comments against the blonde character is, in fact I'd go so far as to say it's racist or at the very least racist stereotyping.

Putting my two cents in, yes I know I barely post. I've found it very interesting that a blonde wins out. I'm curious to see if the result would be the same if she had the same hair, face, skin tone, but she was a brunette. If the result is the same then I stand corrected.

If not then I find it so interesting that many love blondes.
Obviously not game related but nearly all of my friends find blondes attractive, I on other hand have no idea why. It's just a very interesting result how much higher #5 is than any other

Aside from the gaping hole in her armour and the fact that her hairdo is rather impractical, this Shepard is spot on. She's gorgeous, and actually looks as though she could kill things, as opposed to looking like a grumpy teenager. I sincerely hope that Bioware take some inspiration from this Shepard's face when they render the final head mesh.

It's actually incredibly ridiculus considering the image is only ever going to appear on the BACK cover of the CC.

Not only is it not going to appear on the normal edition (or possibly even in game) you don't even have to look at it when you get the CC.

This of course has all been said before in this thread by myself and others.

It's pretty incredulous that so much drama has been made out of something that will mostly only ever see the inside of a book shelf.

She's still available. The new Default is going to be an option alongside the old one. You want the old Jane? Use her.

After reading this article I am confused is blonde shep going to have a different VA? Is she going to have different dialogue options? And if not how could anybody comment on her personality when it is the same as any femshep? This article doesn't make sense!

Making your title 'death to blonde Shepard' seems more than a little harsh. And possibly a bit emotionally unhinged. There's a reason why five is winning, and it's her hairstyle. We can blame blonde when it's a fight between the same hairstyle and six different colors.

The reason I won't vote four has nothing to do with her skin color. I happen to play, perhaps majorly, dark skinned characters. But four comes across as having too much character to be a default look for Shepard. And her hair is even more ridiculous than five.
