PCGamer is so butt hurt that the blond is winning, they wrote an article about how diversity should "prevail" or some stupid **** like that.

Something tells me the woman that wrote the article is jealous of blonds, but that's just me.
Wow....she really thinks blondes are represented that much? I can think of twenty brunettes who are gorgeous then I can of blonde...., she needs to slow down. Besides it's not like any of the shepards shown are diverse anyway.

Not to mention it's downright offensive to women who actually did happen to be born with blond hair and blue eyes. Ridiculous. I'm all for women's rights, equality and respect. But this is just insulting to some of the women.James2912 wrote...
After reading this article I am confused is blonde shep going to have a different VA? Is she going to have different dialogue options? And if not how could anybody comment on her personality when it is the same as any femshep? This article doesn't make sense!

Totally. She talks about how #5 lacks character and attitude, based solely on her hair color. It's not like she's met the girl. Oh, wait. They're ALL THE SAME girl, with different hair style/color. So much anger in her words...PraetorianGuard wrote...

Finally, she claims Ginger Wynona Ryder should win. Well, I hope she's realized that they are the same with different coloring. So if one day Ginger Wynona decided to go blonde, she'd lose all her "character, originality and attitude", and start prancing around with "glue-on nails and a handbag Chihuahua".
It doesn't make any sense.
As a blonde, I wish I knew this woman's hair color so I could start being prejudice and angry and nonsense towards everyone with the same hair color - based on that woman's words and actions. I'd just assume they are all the same and immediately hate on them. Maybe write an article about how they should all die?
Despite the fact that I'd prefer 4 with more sensible hair or 5 with red hair, I have to admit, this writer saying that blonde is terrible and invoking all sorts of crude stereotypes, and then suggesting that red represents "diversity" is some hilariously dim insanity. If she was arguing for a non-white character, I could get behind that, but another white person with an unusual white-person hair colour? (and yes I know red hair does very rarely appear in other ethnicities) - That's just damn silly.
Goddamn it PC Gamer, don't make me start defending Blonde #5!

I'd rather not play ME2 for the fifth time as default FemShep, or play ME3 as default without save import to get the new default.

But, honestly? Why write an angry article about it. Personally the "default" femshep is of almost no importance to me. I never use Sheploo or the existing default Jane Shephard---I always roll with customs.

Honestly, as someone who isn't into the blond bombshell look at all, and digs dark, short hair styles and girls with tattoos, I say: **** no.
Not my Shephard, at least.

You can change your face on imports so i assume we'll be able to pick the default face with importsliuqi007 wrote...
Not sure if this has been brought up before, but does it means that if I import a ME2 save with custom FemShep I won't be able to play as the newly designed default FemShep?

No they don't. On the low res they all look the same but in high res you can really see the difference.

I could be wrong, but I thought diversity was an old, old wooden ship used during the Civil War era.
I want to read that article, but it won't load for me...

Casey Hudson Tweeted that we would be able to change our imports but did not say how much.

Uh, what you can see is that they all have the same face except 4, who has a slightly different mouth/nose, and 6, who has a different nose. Otherwise they are the same face. Cheeks, chin, jaw, forehead, brow, etc. are identical.

Just write a complaint email to the site - if she's an official columnist, though, realize that you're doing exactly what the site wants - generating more traffic. Tons of people who would never have seen that article have gone to the site because it's "controversial". That means more hits, which means more money from ads and so on. So unless lots of people AVOID the site because of her opinion (unlikely - it's very mainstream), all giving it more attention does is encourage it.
Her job is to make trouble - columnists are basically professional trolls, to a large extent.

It's even funnier how she refers to diversity to back up his "article", when 4 of the 6 Shepards have black hair.
And I agree that article is offensive to blonde people. You can't pretend to write an article in a site like PCGamer, in this case where a lot of people will see it, discriminating and being offensive to people with blonde hair.
IsaacShep wrote...

They do have some differences and some similarities. The face is pretty much the same overall, maybe #3 has a bit of a more elongated face, but that is all. However the makeup, hair style, eye color, skin color, nose shape and lip thickness are a bit different.

Honestly I thought this thing was a silly idea since people had already established what their femSheps look like, and since there had been no canon femShep before people are bound to hate whichever femShep is picked. It's like when an actor is chosen for a book to movie adaption and people hate him because it's not what they imagined.
It's even worse than with a book to film adaptation, because Shepard even has a voice, as well as a variable personality! With a film at least people have to accept that some actor must be cast - here there's an issue that it didn't necessarily even have to happen (not that it shouldn't, just saying!).

To be honest none of them is my Sheppard and I'll import character anyway. There is no perfect choice and there'll always be unsatisfied crowds. It was BW mistake that they didn't create official FemShep in the first place, along with male version.
Male version wasn't a mistake tbh.

I didn't mean male version was a mistake, I meant a mistake was not creating a female version as well.
