Am I the only one who is sick of Casey dodging questions?

At the Comic-con panel someone asks what new Tech and Biotic
powers there will be, he tells us that powers can be levelled up multiple times
as if we haven't heard it a dozen times before. Someone asks what abilities the
Solider will have to make him/her more appealing, he basically says he hits
harder. THATS IT

I understand that he can't tell us everything for whatever reason (hasn’t been
built yet, spoiler, ect) but I'd rather him say "I can't comment on that
right now" than him twisting the question into another question and then
answering that.

Anyone feel my frustration?

Casey doesn't care. He's on a boat, while you're at Kinkos flippin' copies.

Yes. They avoided a lot of the interesting question and picked those that they have "answered" a thousand times before.

Like how many times did they answer "Will Tali's face be revealed in ME3?".

Ugh ... And then the same demo again and again. Sur'kesh. A level that I now hate before I have even played the game. I am sick of Sur'kesh.

And honestly, I think Casey himself was getting a little tired of Silverman picking the question since he kept going off to the audience for questions we haven't heard yet (celebrity voice actors for instance).

Nope... I understand the situation he's in.. it's very much no-win, no answer he gives will appease... and the game is still 8 months away and an immense amount of things could change.. so anything he says about skills now could easily be changed months from now, then fans nerd-rage on him 7 months from now when stuff changes... stuff like this has happened all the time.

Also... soldier doesn't need to be made more appealing... the overwhelming majority of all Shepards were soldiers in ME2 (was played more than all other classes combined)... so clearly there's nothing about the soldier that is lacking in appeal.

Well you either have that or a flat out "I can't talk about that"

I'm not surprised.

If the gameplay element has not been finalized, he doesn't want make some false promises where we'll pounce on later.

Story-wise, if he says anything, we'll **** and complain about Bioware ruining ME3 for us like during ME2 fiasco. ;)

Unfortunately everyone does this when they can't give a direct answer to you, not just game developers who are trying to pick out features they're ready to reveal or have finalized.

I do wish everyone would just give straight answers to interviewers (saying "We aren't sure." or "We can't talk about that right now." would be nicer), but I guess twisting the answer makes them feel like they're giving a more elegant answer rather than a blunt one.

I wasn't annoyed at all- I understood that they cannot release spoilers or anything related to it- especially being so far away from release date

There's really not that much Casey could have answered without ruining the game 8 months in advance. And the questions themselves sucked and were repetitive.

The game is still 8 months away. Honestly I kind of expect evasive answers right now, since a lot can still change. If they're still being evasive 1-3 months out, you know something's up, ala Dragon Age 2.

Oh yeah. Whenever they say they're releasing "new information" I never really get my hopes up. I don't even know what the point of Q&A's are when they're only allowed to announce what's already been announced. Most of the time a question gets asked and he goes off on a tangent and talks about something that wasn't even related to the question and pretends that he just answered what was asked. I would prefer if they just said, "I'm not allowed to say at this time."

No.

If I was in Casey's shoes, and I'm thankful I'm not, I'd probably come across like Donald Rumsfeld at a news conference.

Can you imagine how annoying it must be to continually have to answer the same f--king questions all the time, even if you are getting paid for it? It would be even more annoying to be asked questions you can't answer without spoiling something or possible giving false information, due to the game still being far from finished.

And then people would start nagging about how BioWare's spoiling everything about ME3.

It's a fun little cycle.

I actually thought he revealed some big stuff (most of the melee powers were shown, he says that some consequences may lead to others leaving you and/or have a mortal conflict with you just like Wrex at Virmire)

After you watch multiple games be developed, you start to get used to it. Yes, I'm annoyed that no good question is ever answered, but it makes sense that they can't. As Pheadon said, we're still 8 months out from release. They had originally planned for a Holiday 2011; if this game had originally had a March 6 release date, I doubt we would have seen as much of it as we have.

Though I am a bit annoyed that they said we would see a new demo and all that was different was which class(es) was played. I love all the classes and will play them all; I would have rather seen a new stretch of game, maybe an expanded look at Earth or some more intro into Legion's cameo. Hell, even adding the Atlas fight up until the point where Shepard actually jumps in would have been better.
