Isnt there something called a media blackout or something where a game company must be tight lipped until they are cleared to start hyping up the game? The guys at Bungie mentioned this once on a weekly update when they were making Reach. I forget what its called.

It wasn't until a few months before ME2's release the best info came out, it wasn't until a few months before ME1 the best info came out. We're still so early in the marketing - its to be expected.

No...MArketing basically tells people what they can speak on and what they need to remain silent about.. The devs explained this during ME2 pre launch

Yes. They avoided a lot of the interesting question and picked those that they have "answered" a thousand times before.
Like how many times did they answer "Will Tali's face be revealed in ME3?".
Ugh ... And then the same demo again and again. Sur'kesh. A level that I now hate before I have even played the game. I am sick of Sur'kesh.

I'm actually OK with him saying "your not finding out till March," The grin on his face makes me feel like it's something worth waiting for

I kinda agree, my point is that instead of making one question into another, I'd rather him to be blunt and say "I can't comment on that," My version of that is "I'd rather him not comment than spoil"

know what the point of Q&A's are when they're only allowed to
announce what's already been announced. Most of the time a question gets
asked and he goes off on a tangent and talks about something that

what was asked. I would prefer if they just said, "I'm not allowed to

To his credit this is a good one, I'm looking forward to seeing this in action, but I hope I actually get to fight them. This is causing me to rethink my Muck-up Shepard. rather than killing off all but 2 people in the suicide mission I might try to keep more alive if they can be enemys later

well obviously skills are still in the tweeking phase.
they're not going to announce abilities they're not sure about

if he said "soldiers will be able to do "this" it's really cool" but then due to gameplay mechanics, lore reasons, time issues, bugs, ect. it couldnt make it into the final game then people would use that quote to string him up.

so of course they're absolutely careful with what they say and announce.

i mean they've barely said anything about Vega and theres huge 10+ page hate threads going on about him, you kinda gotta understand their position when you have a community as crazy as this.

lol. It's not just Casey. I am also paying close attention to Guild Wars 2, which is at Comic-Con and they are doing the same thing. Although towards the end, they do say they can't tell us directly.

Hudson's doing a great job of building anticipation by reassuring old (and perhaps skeptical) rpg fans the devs are listening to them, exciting the shooter fans new to the series by selling the familiar-yet creative-gameplay features, and revealing bits and pieces of info on the story while being vague enough for the fanboys/girls to keep creating speculation threads.
