Am I the only one who is sick of Casey dodging questions?

True, true. And being able to read between the lines or not also somewhat factors in it, as yesterday's on-stage 'interview' basically confirmed some sort of multiplayer in ME3.RinpocheSchnozberry wrote...

Sometimes a simple "Yes or No" or "I can't comment on that right now" would be enough.

I feel like he did a good job. He seems like a professional about everything, and even keeps his cool about questions that get answered every other day. *cough* Tali's face *cough*
But yeah, I was okay with it.

Other questions cause him to sort of go more in-depth without answering immediately. This is not being dodgy, but him trying to explain reasoning or explain where the question is coming from/what it is about.

I think you are reading between too many lines.

My guess is, Casey has a mental list of everything he is allowed to say and does not go beyond that. When someone says "weapons" or "powers" in any context he probably just repeats his mental script. Its intended to reassure the audience that they have a plan for that area of the game without revealing much more.
I personally agree. I would much rather Casey say something like "We have a lot in store for that portion of the game, but we're still working on it and I can't discuss it right now or make false promises to you guys."
Bioware / EA could really do with some good PR, especially after the huge amount of fans that disliked DA2 (even though it was a different dev team, tons of people claim they're continuing to "dumb down content").

why not, it means he can move onto more questions quicker, instead of "what does Liara's Biotic Pull do to enemy shields? it rips them off? thats so interesting Casey, oh, and Garrus' Concussive shot pushes them back?<_<Candidate 88766 wrote...
I don't mind it too much. There
is very little he's allowed to reveal this early on, but he can't just
say 'I can't answer that' to every question.
Besides, its better than the Peter Molyneux style of just making things up instead.

not at all. After working long time in different companies, your learn
how customer service works. They can't answer question, because they
don't know the answer or it's not benefitial them to answer for them.
Learn to handle something what it's not in your control, because it's
your personal issue. Little like children asking, why I can't get what I
want.

My problem was him answering things unrelated to the question. Not him not giving us an answer on everything, read the topic before you post.Kyria Nyriese wrote...
While I would love to know
everything about the game before it gets here, since it's still 8 months
away, that would take away the reason to play the game. I know Casey
doesn't do a great job of no comment, he actually tries to make it seem
like he's answering the question when he's not. So I really have no
issue with the way things have been done thus far.

Or air Quote the turian ambasador "ah yes questions we have dismissed those as _______" (insert blank with what you wish) my suggestion "wild assertations"
Or quote Monuel "spoilers" "Time ---- age--- humanity---end---one---darkness--destroyer......----"
my opinion**** so they shouldn't reveal anything till march 5 2012 what do they reveal: *shepard is in the game that's ****all that is needed to be known****... and on Jan 18 if they push back the release date to finish the game I would be happy!

I have to admit when they did the BioWare Pulse Q&A at the end of E3 I already zoned out when Casey used certain phrases. And I have to agree with a previous post, if you can't answer questions because you'd spoil things, then don't ask for questions. Because the way Casey 'answers' sometimes it has nothing to do anymore with the question and he could just as well just talk about what he can talk from the beginning ...

He's being asked all sorts of stuff that he should never answer before the release. I don't think he should answer more than say 5% of story spoilers before the game is released. Game mechanics, stage of development, UI queries etc are all fair game because they don't spoil anything.
yeah that's the problem tho. There was a nice Article in GI last year about why Developers act like this and it is about people taking every statement they make in the wrong way or sensationalizing them even if it about subjects that are fair game. Followed by the fact that the feedback on such statements more than often is now a well thought analysis with added suggestion but a very broad 'OMG THE SUXXORZ" or "RUINED FOREVER"....without any explanation
now, Morons will do that one way or the other and a simple qualifying sentence (like...well everything is subject to change but, here's what we are doing now") would solve part of the problem. That said, Casey does tend to dodge questions a LOT I would really feel less insulted (yes sometimes the non-answers he gives make me feel like he believes we are all idiots to a point....I know it is not meant that way) if he just said "sorry we cannot comment on that now"
