As you can see, a decent medium-length full beard would not pose any
restrictions - neither to movement, his ability to talk or any other
such thing.
One more thing for consideration: Dragon Age: Origins and Dragon Age 2 had an amazing spectre of beards, available to both dwarves and humans, i.e. this. Both the Warden (and later Hawke) also had several helms to wear, and none of them prohibited his locks from flowing freely.
The one and only thing I could consider a problem would be the masks worn in certain environments (think Derelict Reaper and the like). But even a medium-sized full beard would be catered to by the masks of the future, right?
