Does anyone else feel a bit punished for not using the Sheploo face?

I think it's funny how Sheploo will look way weird in some places (Raper face! XD) But the customs look 3x as worse. *imo* and make me fear for whoever I am talking to.

No matter how hard anyone tries, no one will ever be able to make a face as quality as Sheploos with the current CC. Playing as Sheploo then making a custom faces feels like a step back, thus my canon is sheploo.
Hopefully BioWare sees all of this.
Also, the custom faces in ME1 looked a hundred times better than they did in ME2. I know they changed the engine and all, but...really?

EDIT: I personally feel that custom Shep is > Sheploo because the Shepard that you make is a personification of what you imagined him/her to be.

Femsheps on the other hand I can easily create by just doing superficial changes (colors, hair style, etc).
What's weird is that I have the exact opposite problem in Dragon Age where I can create a good looking male character but not a female one.

Face textures are what custom Sheps are most in need of, imo.
This would at least make the custom MaleSheps look realistic, and not made of plastic and/or wax.

Try to get better. It took me 30 minutes to make a good-looking Shep. Fem-Sheps are easier since they have decent looking presets.

That's cute:) I was curious how long it was going to be before someone made the "hurr durr get bettar" comment. By the way, that site went down quite a while ago.
Don't you think you're being a little oversensitive here? Note I typed "Try to get better", not just "get better" and leave. It's not easy to make a custom male shep, but it's not impossible, which is why I posted a link (that I thought worked) with examples you could take and make your own.
What should you say to someone who's struggling to do something?
Give up or try to encourage them?
I guess I failed to encourage you though.
Sorry if I offended, just trying to help.

from Farscape, who I kind of envisioned my Shep from so I couldn't get
it much better anyways.
Just never got custom right in ME1, I hated the base it started from, I always wished could adapt from Sheploo as a starting point. But anyways got used to good ole Sheploo and didn't want to change it for ME2. I've used customs in ME2 they can look good, but they never seem "right" to me. I actually like Sheploo.
But it is fun to see creations instead, but at this point, doesn't feel like "Shepard" to me, as I'm sure Sheploo feels an imposter to others who are happy with their custom.

So, I based mine around some of my old Punisher comics for ME1. But for ME2 I just ganked a face code off the ME2 face generator site that appealed to me since the imported face from ME1 looked like ****.

But in all seriousness, I agree that textures and customization options could be expanded. However, I actually really love my custom Shepards so it's not THAT bad where good customization is impossible or simple-looking.

Having said that, you need patience with the character creator. The difference between a "reasonably OK" Shepard and a great-looking one can mean the difference between spending 30 minutes with character creation and spending several hours with several retries to see how he looks in-game. Also many people are unaware of how subtle changes make faces look very different and tend to go all-out with the sliders.
Maleshep is disadvantaged though. The lack of decent hair and nose options is jarring. Or is it just that men's noses always look ugly and we only notice it in cases like this?

I'm not being punished. Though custom Shep needs some more hair and eye options. For serious. It's pathetic how few options we get.
