First of all, I'm on xbox 360.

My problem is, when I'm on my main gamertag, and I load up either one of the Mass Effect 2 disks I get as far as the menu that displays Press Start. I do this, then it fades out to the black screen as normal, but freezes on that black screen.

What's weird is, If I sign into a different gametag and do the same, everything will run smoothly and function correctly.

I've tried unplugging everything, clearing the system cache, signing on two pads with one with the main gamertag and one with a different gamertag, none of this has work.

I was wondering if my saves were corrupt, but when I check on memory on the dashboard nothing is corrupt, the only other thing I can think of is that it is DLC doing this, but none of them ar corrupt either, and I wanted to ask here before I try deleteing them all.

Any advice?

Thanks

Freezes tend to be random on console; for the most part I would just reload and see if it occurs again.

Your post indicates some things which leads me to suspect the thought you have behind the problem as being inconsistent; mainly I refer to the presence of dlc. If the dlc were to be a cause of disruption I would expect both Gamertags to be effected in the same manner rather than just one.

Clearing the system cache is a standard thing to do to help alleviate the freezing, and since you've already done that and it has not helped it seems that course of action can be disregarded now.

Corrupt saves might be possible. Have you a spare storage device so you can move your saves to in order to see if the game will boot up? I would try that first if you are able.

Gamertag corruption is perhaps another possibility, so you could consider recovering your Gamertag as well.

That's all I can think of.

Ok thanks.

I'll try moving all my saves first, then if that doesn't work I'll try recovering too.

Thanks again

Edit: Moving saves onto a memory unit didn't work, I'm now trying moving DLC, I will try the memory unit in, and with it out.

Ok when I move all dlc and saved games to a memory unit and take it out it works.

Then I tried moving all my saves back too my harddrive, and having the Memory Unit out and it froze. Am now trying recovering my gamertag.

Problem Fixed:

A save I changed some ME1 history on using Gibbed was causing the problem.
