Honestly, I think that Jack and Paragon!Shepard in ME2 was the best love scene in the entire series. That said, I support more ME1-style love-scenes for ME3.
I wouldnt say out of the entire series.

ME2 had different styles for different characters, but ME2 love scenes loss more than they gained imo.

I don't really care. I don't get off on pixels, so my main question is this: do the romances actually add to the storytelling somehow? So it's less about the sex scenes, more about how the subplots are written.
Yes the romances do add to the story. They aren't the main portion of it but they are an important part.
[/b]The Count of Monte Cristo[/b] - Alexandre Dumas
Around the World in 80 days and every other Jules Verne
The Last of the Mohicans - James Fenimore Cooper
James Bond even had romances, true most were short lived but he did get married in one, even though she died, still romance was there.
They help define Shepard as a complete character. The romances are not mandatory so some Shepards are loners, some are players and some are normal characters who have found love in unexpected places.

I also want a sex scene where there is some sort of skin. Can't we have them romp around in underwear like in DA1?

lol what dry humping, I think your confusing ME2 for Origins and please don't say you consider Tali and Miranda being on top of Shepard dry humping. Anyway, if I had to choose, I would go with the ME2 style, I'll take individual scenes, tailored for each person, over the side boob hour any day of the week. Though in BW wants to throw some side boob in there, they shouldn't censor themselves because of idiots on Fox News. Though I would guess it also has to do with the large abundance of aliens in this series.FitScotGaymer wrote...
ME1.
I prefer a nice little discreet scene with clever camera angles ending in a fade to black.
ME2's ridiculous dry humping was painful to watch.

They can add things to the story, but they tend not to in ME2. Take Tali, Garrus, or Miranda, for instance - the actual "romance" entirely centers around vun undt exactly vun sex scene, doesn't actually delve into the characters at allm and is sort of tacked on to the end of their character arc. Any sort of characterization from these romances is something you're reading into the game vs. something that's actually in the game. Jack is sort of an exception, although that romance is problematic for unrelated reasons. Hopefully ME3 will be a step away from this, but honestly I think they've stretched themselves thin with all the romances.

However, if they're gonna go for more of a "sexy" approach in ME3, I wish they'd take a look at the scenes in The Witcher 2 to see how it's done - even the scenes with random prostitutes are sexier than anything spawned from ME.
Here's one with the gorgeous Triss Merigold. It's censored, but probably still NSFW.

The individualistic nature of the ME2 scenes with the sensual feel of the ME1 scenes. Every character is different--give them a scene that reflects their personality while showing the intimate side of the relationship (and a little fanservice)
Seconded....and more depth to the relationships.

They were actually different from one another. ME1 was the same besides dialogue.

I could agree on that, I just really think in all ME2 love scenes were lacking something.
Pretty much this.

But the scenes with fully clothed humping (Renegade Jack, Miranda, etc.) were quite odd and off-putting. I support ME1-style tasteful implied nudity in those situations.

The only thing better about the ME2 scenes was that they were different scenes for all of the available romance options. In ME1 Ashley's was pretty much identical to Liara's, though missing a couple scenes.
