ME 1 without doubt.
Which would you prefer, Love scene for ME3 like they had in ME1 or ME2?

Forget the love scene. My chick flick sense is tingling because the sexiest moment in ME1 is the Ashley Seduction Scene. I don't mind ME2 dry humping but I want some steamy persuasion beforehand. mmmm...

Me2, minus the clipping issues. Sex through the clothes makes me laugh every time.

Something like ME1 but not copypasta stuff. Every character gets something different...
OOOOH I wonder what they'd do with Jacob this time XD

like other people've said, a mix of ME1 and ME2... and please for the love of every deity ever, let's go beyond the headbump with Garrus eh? I would have expected a kiss! I dunno how that would work but goddamn it should... :<

I don't really care. I don't get off on pixels, so my main question is this: do the romances actually add to the storytelling somehow? So it's less about the sex scenes, more about how the subplots are written.
Yes the romances do add to the story. They aren't the main portion of it but they are an important part.
[/b]The Count of Monte Cristo[/b] - Alexandre Dumas
Around the World in 80 days and every other Jules Verne
The Last of the Mohicans - James Fenimore Cooper
James Bond even had romances, true most were short lived but he did get married in one, even though she died, still romance was there.
They help define Shepard as a complete character. The romances are not mandatory so some Shepards are loners, some are players and some are normal characters who have found love in unexpected places.
They can add things to the story, but they tend not to in ME2. Take Tali, Garrus, or Miranda, for instance - the actual "romance" entirely centers around vun undt exactly vun sex scene, doesn't actually delve into the characters at allm and is sort of tacked on to the end of their character arc. Any sort of characterization from these romances is something you're reading into the game vs. something that's actually in the game. Jack is sort of an exception, although that romance is problematic for unrelated reasons. Hopefully ME3 will be a step away from this, but honestly I think they've stretched themselves thin with all the romances.
Agree, ME2 left a lot to be desired. I also agree that they went overboard with the number of romance options and that diluted them, for me anyway. I did like parts of different romances, I thought paragon Jack's romance and Thane had some nice stuff like sitting holding his hand and just talking, I enjoyed flirting with Garrus but Garrus and Tali could never be more than friends in my games, I just never saw them as anything other than a friend.
I think it's probably too late for ME3 and I'm just hoping for the best, but future games, I'd love to see them do more developing the friendship and romance relationships with less romantic choices. Four would work for me, 1 m/f; 1 m/m; 1 f/f and one for both. If there is a character I can't romance I'll just cope with it and enjoy the ones that are available. I've always found at least one that is fun to do.
As for what I'm reading into the game that's not there, i do that with the whole game. Shepards all have a detailed back story that is what I've given them and relationships with different team members that is strictly in my head but works for me. Tali and Shepard go shoping whenever they hit civilization. Shepard has a whole closet full of shoes. I just need a little help from BW to set the romance mood, which in games like JE, KOTOR and DA they gave me.

Both have their strengths.
Mass Effect 2 for instance actually had personalizied individual scenes that differed for each specific character. Instead of it all being the same re-used scene for all of them.
But on the other hand, Mass Effect 1's had no shame in implying nudity, and more to the point, had much better dialogue and general character interaction then Mass Effect 2's did. With a huge pre-romance scene conversation, followed by a 'morning after' style conversation before the scene in its entirety ended.
In Mass Effect 2, it's boiled down to one line from Shepard which is either a 'yes' or a 'no'.
If I had to pick, I'd go with Mass Effect 1's style. All the same though, I'd like to see variation in romance scenes for each love interests and the manner in which that love interest is in relation to Shepard.
For instance, an Ashley who had already been in a relationship with Shepard in Mass Effect 1 should have a noticebly different romance scene to one who only just started.
EDIT: And yes, I'm aware of spelling errors. I'm tired.

If they go the ME2 route, then fleshing the scenes out a little would be good. Most of them were a couple of lines and then smoochies. DA2's were a little better in that respect.
I also liked the mood of ME1's.

Dragon Age II
It sort of combined both concepts which is what I would like to see in this final game in the initial trilogy.

ME2. The ME1 scenes didn't bother me (I did laugh a lot, though) but I didn't find them terribly sexy. I'd rather have another orbital kiss than a short, blued-out scene.

The risqué nature of mass effect one and the conversations, combined with the technical variety of me2.
For some reason it's always a middle-ground that seems the best option no matter what part of me it is. O.o

Doesn't matter, just slap on some Barry White onto the background and you're guaranteed to succeed.
