I knew ME1 would be the majority response.

I'd noticed how massively hyped the ME1 sex scenes were on here, so when I got round to actually seeing it I kinda realised why people felt that way. Can't really blame the majority for wanting them back considering Bioware went tame because some idiots spouted crap about them.

Since the fans begged for multiple LI, I would expect the scenes to be really short.
Why does this even matter anyway?

I didn't mind male sheps romance scenes really in ME2...I do feel like femshep got the short end of the stick though. That alone would make me wish ME3's were more like ME1's.

Yeah I always figured that FOX was the reason for the romance scene changes but for the most part I really don't care. I thought the Mass Effect 2 romances were done pretty well.

I definitely hope they're more like ME1, but I also think they should have a bit more variety like in ME2. ME1's love scenes were pretty much all the same, just with different character models.

I didn't have a problem with the ME2 romances, I just thought the ME1 ones (derp) were better. As long as it's not Origins' dry humping I'm happy, I found ME seems to do romance scenes better than DA.

I don't know about that, Alex.  I like how I could be at the party camp and kiss my LI in DA:O.  Or while out and about.  I laughed hard when I did that with Morrigan the reaction of the rest of the party was the best part.

There was dry humping with Miranda in ME2.  The others just were meh except for Tali's. That was the only scene with any type of passion between the LI and Shepard.  Even Miranda's scene seemed forced and quite odd that she wanted to do it on the engineering deck for everyone to see.Unlike ME1, DA:O, or DA2 for that matter.

It would be cool if they actually combined both styles of romances from ME1 and ME2 into ME3.  Just have them be naked.  Sex with clothes on is lame.

I preferred ME 1.

This series of games is for grown-ups; it would be nice to have the intimate scenes reflect that.

The love scenes from ME2 and DA2 both made me facepalm. I thought it was a giant step backwards from DA:O and ME1. :(

The individualistic nature of the ME2 scenes with the sensual feel of the ME1 scenes. Every character is different--give them a scene that reflects their personality while showing the intimate side of the relationship (and a little fanservice)

I would also like a mix of those two,but if I had to choose I'd say ME1.

As someone who romanced Garrus, I'd like a bit more than a forehead bump please (as cute as it was). However, an ME1 style scene might be (more) awkward and unfeasible, so I think the ME2 style of individualized scenes would be better in this case....

Very much agreed. When I saw the love scenes for DA2 and ME2, I actually walked out of the room and waited till they were done because of how rediculous I thought they were.

I wonder if there is any good arguments as to why people like the ME1 romances more than ME2?

Mass Effect 1 definitely had a better love scene than Mass Effect 2. Not because of the nudity, but because it showed a real connection between the two characters. It actually showed something that is quite difficult to show, and that is love.

In Mass Effect 2, it was, tear off her shirt, now dry hump till the end of the scene. Those scenes just made Shep seem like a horn dog. It showed lust and not compassion. Just like in Dragon Age 2. The worst sequel to a game had scenes were it was, awww yeah Hawke's getting it done. Even the one with Merril. The only good thing from the game, was still suceptible to a bad scene.

To all the haters, and those ****heads on the View, shut the **** up about a video game and its contents. There is a reason why a game has a rating on it, if someone's kid isn't old enough to play it, then don't buy it for them. They made a big fuss about the scenes in Mass Effect 1, but here's the thing, look in the lower corner and you'll seem, M. You have to be 18 or older to buy it. That's why I hate 90% of people, know one has common sense anymore.

ME1 definetly.

Whilst the build up, and emotion was better in ME 2, the romance/love scenes were seriously lacking in my opinion.

The romance/love scenes in ME3 should be tastefull, and sensual like in ME1, but with the emotion and depth of ME2.

Its not much to ask, Bioware has done it before. The problem they had with ME1 is that is was rated for ages12+. In my opinion that should have been fine, but apparently some extremely conservative parents, disagreed. ME2, and I am guessing ME3, had/will have an 18+ rating. And therefore the love scenes like in ME1, should have/had no problem fitting into ME 2 and 3.

If The Witcher 2 could get away with what they did, (which was way over the top by the way, and not something fitting for ME), then ME3 should be able to have love scenes similar to those in ME1.

Being able to kiss your LI whenever you want and have sex in camp whenever you wanted were both pretty nice touches definitely, but I was more referring to the sex scene itself. I've completed Origins six times, and after the second playthrough I just thought "Never again am I going to put myself through those scenes again" so when I see it beginning I just skip.

I'll get round to doing Tali's eventually, but I saw Garrus' on youtube and while the scene itself isn't exactly erotic in any way, I thought the dialogue in it was really powerful (apparently it's the same with Jack, still need to do hers as well). But yeah, I found Miranda a complete borefest too.

Like what people have said in this thread though, the emotion from ME2's scenes mixed with a sex scene similar to ME1's would be the perfect combination for ME3. Then again, on the other hand i have no idea how they're going to pull off the whole sex scene thing in ME3 since in the two previous games it's always been a "it could all be over in a few hours from now lets shag" whereas when ME3 begins its practically the apocalypse already, so ...

I did this. :pinched: Pixel people should be allowed to express their nakedness. I also find the one-character-fully-dressed-while-the-other-is-nude-or-in-undies,  post-coital chats, a strange phenomenon in BioWare games.

with me so as long as it is not DA2 romance scenes I do not mind.

But the difference in ME3 is going to be that there could be potentially be more than one romance scene per character.

Think about if you have got a relationship going on already your more likely to do it more than before the final battle.

I think there could be a more romantic scene in the beginning or the middle of the game and then a more emotional scene (not Jack kind of emotional I found that weird)

Agreed.  I'm modding the clothed dry humping OUT of my DAO for PC.  I'm not a pervert, I just don't like the WTf are they doing nature of the scene.

M'kay. I'll give it a look, thanks. ;)

EDIT: Wow. Watched it. I like it better than the ME2 and DA2 scenes. I think I need to look into buying Witcher 2 when it comes out on the 360. Looks interesting.  (And I swear I heard the same voice actor that did King Cailan)
