Ok also just checked out Witcher 2 - wow.
Although I agree with previous posts that one party naked (or nearly naked) and the other usually clothed (or mostly clothed) is odd. The games are rated M for a reason.
I thought that the romance/sex scene in DA:O was far better because you could kiss your LI whenever you wanted, and again, I agree with previous posters that I find it difficult to believe that if you are in a relationship you're only doing it once and "waiting" until right before the battle??
As for preference - I'd say a mix of Witcher 2, DA:O and ME1 for the sex scene, but more romance scenes in general, and more dialogue!
Once I'd romanced Thane and discussed his wife and seeing a desert, there wasn't anything left!!

Cosmo, I think those of us who enjoy the romances generally want better quality scenes as well as a greater quantity of conversations. I just wonder why the heck BioWare seems intent on stripping that element down to the bare bones on their more recent games. They are the romance masters, after all.

I think the romances are quite popular, and likely to become even more so as a wider range of gamers discover them.

ME1 please. If Bioware is unwilling to be as daring as CD Projeckt is with tasteful nudity, then at least put in some well angled shots like ME1 did, as in no full front nudity but side and back full body shots.

Agreed. 

If they're not going to do what they did in ME1, it would be better to just do something like the Thane scene and have a kiss, then fade to black with implication. 

No Dry Humping In ME3.

I'd say ME1 without a doubt. ME2's romance scenes just seemed cheesey and crappy. ME1 was very well done. I won't lie, i'd like to see some nudity for nothing more than realism. The issue you get with Hollywood movies is that they'll have sex scenes but the women will keep their bra on. I've never slept with a woman who has kept her bra on during sex. Done the right way it can pay off (Heavy Rain), but if its gratuitous it won't work.

Still, the implied nudity of ME1 worked very well and aslong as it isn't the same scene with replaced models, then it'll be great.

ME1 mixed with ME2 (more fanservice, keep the emotion, seeing glimpses of real flesh from miranda, tali, and jack would've been nice). And garrus shoulda gotten better. Though I wouldnt mind a fling with samara in ME3 and with Kelly (both while Liara is away getting the asari on your side .

Absolutely ME1. It should be longer sex scene though.

ME1 was artistic and tasteful, the style could work really well with all the new LIs that ME2 brought to the table. Just a few close-ups and glimpses of skin and movement, nothing overly pornographic.. enough to convey the emotion and get the message across and hopefully each LI will have a totally unique sequence (to add to replayibility) that suits each of them.

i think its the sr1 that makes it better in me1 the sr2 is cold and loud, just not so comfortable. i miss the sr1 nice and cozy

I'd like a mixture of both. Say the build up of the second one e.g Thane getting emotional, Liara crying for fear of losing Shepard again. You know the interaction the individual feel that each scene in ME2 had. Then this build up or interaction turning into a scene like the first game.

In my opinion, this thread doesnt deserve falling to the 3rd/4th page, so I bumped it up a notch, if thats against forum regelations, then I am sorry, and it wont happen again.

I think its important, that the developers see this thread. Because as far as I can tell, most people dont want the romance scenes to be like in ME2, but rather like they were in ME1.
