Battle of Denerim party: is this a crazy idea?

So.... my Warden is standing in the hall outside Riordan's room at Redcliffe Castle, and I'm thinking about Denerim. Normally, my party for the final battle would be Warden/Alistair/Leliana/Wynne; that's a time-tested standard that has served me well on every play-through. The writer in me has the urge to do something else this time around, though. The idea of Warden/Alistair/Morrigan/Julan the Wonder Dog is suddenly very appealing - ending with the same party that began the journey just seems really right this go-around (probably because I never took either Leliana or Wynne out of camp, other than for their personal quests).

- Warden is a Dalish rogue, archery mostly, but proficient enough with a pair of daggers... tosses lots of bombs, sets a lot of traps, uses poison. She has the first three Ranger summons and will probably level before reaching Fort Drakon, at which point I'll pick up Master Ranger.
- Alistair is his regular old sword-and-shield self, only more so than usual... he's dancing around the battlefield like Baryshnikov with a blade, and his War Cry occasionally kills low-health enemies. (I am so in love...)
- Morrigan does have basic Heal and the first two Spirit Healer spells; pretty much all else is damage dealing and crowd control. I'm not ashamed to use potions, though, so the lack of a dedicated healer isn't much of an issue.
- And y'all know what The Dog does.

Umm... what else? I play on Nightmare difficulty, I prefer that no one dies and if at all possible, I don't like to use any of the allied armies. My trepidation is that the auto-pilot ranged attack I'm used to getting from Leliana at Fort Drakon will suffer as a result of my Warden trying to wear too many hats, in both attempting to play general and needing to plink-plink-plink away at the Archdemon, and that I'll really miss that  second archer with Arrow of Slaying at a few specific points (Denerim Market... all those ogres! Fort Drakon entrance... the double Dragons,  and the pair (or is it a trio?) of Emmisaries!).

Is this a crazy idea? Any advice? War stories? Encouragement? Dissuasion?

My current playthrough with my Human Noble is using only those same 3 for this playthrough. A man (Warden), his woman (Morrigan), his best friend (Alistair), and his dog (Duke). I'm having a lot of fun. As for your situation, I'm not sure since I have yet to play on Nightmare level yet. I think you should be able to get through it though, so go for it! It will be more difficult than your normal setup though.

I dont see any problems.

Ive done this Fight with 4 warriors, 3 shapeshifters and dog, 3 rogues and a spider form morrigan.
Many combos, never had much of a problem.

Trying out different variations is the salt (and pepper) of games like this, so I'd say go for it.

Pees on landmarks?

And, more importantly, he chases the Stick. If I do go with this party (and I'm really loving the idea at this point), maybe we'll just annoy the Archdemon to death with Feast Day gifts:

Archie: ROAAAARRRRRR!!!!!  [translation>Hey! You puny Grey Warden wannabes! Come and get me!]
Warden tosses Stick at Archie, JTWD happily trots off and retrieves it.
Archie: ROAAAARRRRRR!!!!!  [translation>Hello? Archdemon! Over here!]
Warden again tosses Stick at Archie, JTWD happily trots off and retrieves it.
Archie: ROAAAARRRRRR!!!!!  [translation>Did no one tell you amateurs what the drill is?]
Morrigan sticks pin in Alistair doll repeatedly. Alistair squirms uncomfortably, mumbles to himself, and walks into a Hurlock.
Alistair: Excuse me. I'm so clumsy today.
Hurlock shakes his head and walks away. Arl Eamon and First Enchanter Irving double over, laughing.
Archie: ROAAAARRRRRR!!!!!  [translation>Now that was funny, but still... wouldn't your energies be better expended on trying to actually kill me?]
Warden tosses Stick at Archie yet again, JTWD happily trots off and retrieves it.
Archie: ROAAAARRRRRR!!!!!  [translation>This. Is. Ridiculous. Duncan would be so ashamed of you.]
Warden: Alistair?
Alistair: My love?
Warden: The puppet. Use the puppet!
Alistair whips out Grey Warden hand puppet, giggling to himself as he plays with it.
Archie: ROAAAARRRRRR!!!!!  [translation>Nooooooooo!!!!!! Not the hand puppet!]
Alistair then leaps on Archie's head, brandishing the puppet. Archie tries to shake him off, but has neither the strength nor the will to do so, and expires, just to make the unbearable irritation end. After resting the puppet on Archie's head, Alistair does an awkward yet endearing happy dance, while JTWD pees on Archie's tail. Old God essence then swirls out of Archie, seeking a new host, and finds the nearest "Grey Warden" - the hand puppet.
Morrigan (gesturing pointedly at her abdomen): Uh, Wardens...? Did the two of you forget something?
Warden and Alistair (exchanging sly glances and snickering): Nope.

Yeah, that could work...

Archdemon disposed of! Actually tried to throw the Stick, but it (apparently) doesn't work in battle. Oh well... :(
