Hi,
Just about to start my first play through of the The Aielund Saga , are rogues and wizards good in this mod? I usually go rogue/wizard - is that a bad build for this mod?

I played a character that got to 3 Rogue / 28 Wizard / 2 Arcane Archer and did fine in multiplay with a partner who played a pure Ranger. If you are playing single player, I think you will still do fine (I have only played SP up to level 8 Rogue / 1 Wizard / 5 Arcane Archer) because there are some decent henchmen throughout the series.
And, honestly, I don't know that there are any builds that really wouldn't work for the mod. The only optional suggestion I would make is to pick an alignment that isn't dead center neutral, because there are plenty of polar alignment-affecting (lawful vs chaotic and good vs evil) decisions that reward (with XP) choices that conform to your alignment. So, if you are lawful good, you will be pushed further toward that if you make lawful or good dialog decisions and will get XP for it. It's harder to do that with a true neutral character.

Hi Calgacus. How funny you should say that. I just finished Part I going the pretty much same route. I finished it up with Rouge5/Ranger4. It's been working out pretty well so I think you'll like it.

Is there a walkthrough to this mod - the first anyway? I can't seem to find Merin- the first or second quest. I found her house but not her.

Dang, both my henchies got killed very early, should I restart the mod(Part 1) or try to get them raised? Or is going solo(Ranger/Rogue) a good idea? the walkthrough seems to dscourage it.

Very early in the game, raise dead scrolls are probably going to be too expensive for you, if you're just a little ways in restart.
Remember to make saves early and often.
I'm playing through Aielund, in Act II now, as the first non-official module I've played. It scales to your level pretty relentlessly, you'll almost always be outnumbered with at least Challenging or better adversaries, and they are smarter and use every one of their abilities better than the official modules. I think it'd be pretty tough to solo. I got through most of Act I with one henchman.
At least keep the henchmen alive so if you try to solo it and get stuck on an encounter, you can go back and pick them up.

I would never play 'Aielund' solo, not only because I love henchies, no matter what module I'm playing, but here, just like with most of the let say 'cult modules', henchies are companions, and a must have part of the story. 'Aielund' wouldn't be what it is without Robert. I choose my gender because of him, and even my class. That's the sexiest module all the way, so it's charisma all around...
Sorceress, bardess...
I had a blast once with a barbarian, charisma for rage, the only one Robert couldn't control, ormate, sorry, match at will.
Strictly speaking on a roleplay point of view here.
As always.
One of the hotest serie around. Not to mention playing a barbarian at epic level is something any alleged NWN player's got to do at least once in his life to fully deserve such an holy title.

Have you tried respawning henchies with console command "dm_spawncreature <blueaprint tag of henchie>"?

I had been going north before going through the south road quest first, after reloading my autosave and going through the south road quest first the north road was much more managable as per the walkthrough. Of course its not my habit to read a mod's walkthrough first but you gotta do what you gotta do.

Dang, I was using a henchie a a mule and he left my party, can I use a console command or something to get my stuff back? Actually even before he left my party I was unable to get back a Robe of the Spirit Warrior +3. I guess I could edit the save game file but that last time I tried that it corrupted the game so I'd rather not.
-------------------
Nevermind, I had a saved game I reloaded before that battle and replayed and grabbed my loot before the henchman split. Wish I could use my utilities in this mod to avoid encumbrance problems but it doens't seem to support tag based scriptiing - or does it? My bigbagofholding needs it but it doesn't work here.

I just startred using the bigbagofholding in Aielund Part 2, to do so I had to open the mod and append these lines to the end of the onactivateitem script right above the return statement.
if (sItemTag=="bigbagofholding")
{
object oPC = GetItemActivator();
OpenStore( GetObjectByTag("mule"), oPC, -100, 100);
AssignCommand(oPC, SpeakString("activate bboh"));
}
Then I added a merchant to the start area and gave it a tag of mule and an empty inventory. I also set it to *sell mark up 1, buy markdown 0, will not identify items, will buy stolen goods, has max buy price of 1.
Now i'm using it in Aielund.
