Hello, I'm brand new here and just bought ME2 on recommendation. I'm not really a FP shooter game person but thought I'd give this a try after reading Mass Effect Revelation from the library. The graphics are great but i can't get the first bypass puzzle to work. It should be a simple matching game and the instuctions say to highlight and select a matching pair but when I do, nothing happens.

I'm wondering if|I missed a step earlier when passing through all the mechs and in viewing the laptop. I know this is a total newbie question but I don't know this is a glitch in the game I bought or not because I've tried everything I can think of to get past this on my own.

Can anyone suggest anything?

Thanks

Time limit to match the pairs.
There are actually two different timers to contend with. The first is the obvious one counting down until you fail the puzzle, the second less obvious one is when you click on the first of a pair. You will notice a dot as chosen and if you look REAL careful you will notice a timer on it as well. What this means is you have a limited time to chose the second dot of the pair, and if you take too long it unchooses the first. This of course isn't really explained anywhere, but the usual issue is not getting to the second dot fast enough. Also mind you the patterns of the lines actually mean something, ie they actually connect the dots, so you can ignore dots to a point that can not be connected to the dot you are looking for. If you get good enough you will be able to pick out the pattern without even looking at the symbols, which is what I do, I just see the lines and go.

Thanks. That clears that up. Just a matter of practice and keeping at it, I guess. I appreciate your help.
Cheers.
