Is she getting a default redo? What's wrong with default FemShep the way she is? She is cute and has personality. All the FemSheps I saw looked plastic

Because the default was just some random crap anyone could slap together using the CC. She finally will have a model comparable to Sheploo now.

Agreed, the original was fine. Apparently putting a female on the box requires that said female be fashion-model perfect.

I'm glad I can import my own face. Lets leave it at that.

You do know that the guy you have as your avatar, Commander Shepard, is modeled after Mark Vanderloo, right?

FemShep "classic" was just a random chick put together with the character creation tool. What they're doing is (finally) designing a default FemShep like they did with ManShep.

Though TBH that is only really because when they scanned him he had that whole "Rawr, I'm a marine!" style look... whereas of course if they had done it when he was looking like...

Default FemShep in ME 1 & 2 was okay, and I can see the points on both sides. It was funny that she was simply a combination of elements in the character creator while MaleShep was custom. If they create a custom FemShep, that's fine with me but it's a little late Bioware. Hopefully the original default FemShep can still be made for ME 3, using the character creator, or I can use my own FemShep design.

This. I agree she could do with a bit more 'grit' or whatever but I'm so thrilled they're doing this at all I don't care so much.

It's mainly because the Fans asked for it, so Bioware gave it to the fans and so we'll be seeing a 'FemShep' trailer and of course whichever one wins this contest will be on the cover of the Collector's Edition as well. If the 'face' is that of a model and like you say you can't 'create' it using the CC then that makes sense, if it is just another type of face we can create in the CC then I agree with you that they might as well have just stuck with default FemShep from the first two games.
