I've made it to the end of the quest at Soldier's Peak--I killed Sophia and went to talk to Avernus. However, after I do, the background gltiches out and I'm actually transported several feet above the map and characters are lighted funny. I can find the door out and open it, head across the bridge and all that, but when I try to go back downstairs to leave, that door won't open for anything. I'm not in combat as I can save and I can still open the doors that will lead me back and forth between the tower and the shrine, but I am physically stuck in those two areas and the bridge. I didn't level up doing anything--in fact I only get the levels after I speak with Avernus. He tells me the veil is sealed and all of that, then glitch.
So far, resetting the console and reloading the save haven't worked. I'd like to not have to restart the entire game (and let's be honest, I probably won't and I'll just let it sit there. Forever. Unplayed.) to fix this, but I have no more options,
Is there anyone else who's had this? Is there even a way to fix it or am I just screwed forever?

The only thing I can think of is maybe deleting the game data and doing a reinstall. Maybe just Soldier's Peak would work. I don't know. Wish I could offer more.

Yeah, as far as I can tell this isn't the same glitch that everyone else is getting, so I didn't really expect much experience with it. I'll try reinstalling and see if that helps any, but I don't know what that would do to save data still inside the content.

Reinstall shouldn't do anything to the saves. I'm just thinking it may fix a corrupt file or something along those lines.
If all else fails, there's a sticky with how to get in touch with tech support. DAO is too good of a game not to play through at least once.

To be entirely honest, if I can't fix it I'll probably get over it after a few weeks and start it over. I didn't make it that far, really, and I ended up in Soldier's Peak on accident as I was trying to pick up Zevran. I will try a reinstall when I get a chance and see what happens. Thanks for the suggestion!

Well, turns out that didn't work, so I'm out of things to try. Looks like I'm restarting my save.

This just might be the result of my lack of experience with DLC, but my problem might be related. I just bought the Ultimate Edition for PS3, but the game isn't recognizing the DLC that is supposed to come included with the game. Did I do something wrong? Or, more to the point, did I not do something I was supposed to? I had rented Origins via GameFly way before Ultimate was ever even rumored, and the original game install was still on my PS3. Might that be my problem? Do I need to delete & re-install?
