I disapprove of the omniblade.

It was a gimme for Halo fans. Sorry, not ranting, just saying it straight up because its reality

Omni-tools are technologically advanced interfaces with multi purpose-tools. Basically this:

so with the omin blades i assume we won't be throwin elbows anymore

I hope we can still throw a few as a Vanguard and Soldier. :D

The new "normal" melee, both with pistols and rifles, looks much better than the elbow spam.

I know, but I'd like to see some elbows mixed in to the animations, all the same. ^_^

As for the omni-blade itself, I don't see what's so bad about it. When some enemy is that close, I want to make him regret it with a passion.

You guys are probably putting more thought in this then the developers themselves. Which is wrong.

They're more-or-less explainable and look cool to an average player. That's all there is to it, opinions aside.

I'm not an average player (a position which seems to be shared). A few lines of extra text in the codex to at least try and make a feasable explanation wouldn't be that goddamn hard to code.

Well, as Zaeed said, a rifle butt to the head is faster. :P

Am I the only one who find the omni-tools and the blade stupid?

Probably not, but if the in-game description makes sense, then why wouldn't they fit with what we already know about omni-tools?

Personally, I would have preferred the blade to retract into a mechanism built onto the forearm armor plating, rather than have the entire structure glow, but maybe there can be some tweaks to that part. :D

So, I have no problem with the actual blade itself, only with what happens to the blade when it's not needed.

i want headbutts. instead of the nonomni blade pistol whip itd be awesome to just run around droppin hay makers with your forehead.

krogan should actually only melee with head butts.

Agree with Krogan statement.

I thought it looks great and fits well with the style of the setting. I just wish the Sentinel melee animation wasn't so terrible.

I was just thinking about Krav Maga, so I think we could easily skip elbows, after all, we just need bayonets now.

some ain't right here. I know that some people don't like blade because it doesn't look real. SO here what I want. please, change that lame blade by real one like Assassin's creed hidden blade but uses 26C technology with real material.

If you ask how they work they will suddenly stop working. So don't question it.

I'm sure they'll add a codex entry for it. What makes you think they won't?

I'm pretty sure they have tweeted that they will add a codex entry for the omni-blade.

Though, I'm just as sure that people will bit*h about that too.

That feature is only a PART of the omnitool but it's not the only element within.

Seriously why does no one complain about the Shadow Broker's big glowing orange shield which is basically the same tech of the omniblade?

That shield THREW my Shepard across the room. I'm pretty sure that same tech can stab objects as well.

And everyone would scream how that Mass Effect is ripping off of Deus Ex: HR.

Seriously, no one would be satisfied. :P

I'd assume it works basically the same as the Sentnel's Tech Armour, which is also technically a hologram, but can stop projectiles and absorb damage and generate shockwaves when disabled. Exactly how either of them work, though, i do not know, but the ideal of 'solid' holograms is not new to ME3.

Fitting reply!

The shield was, well a shield.  I'm pretty sure Shepard was thrown back by 500+lbs of Yahg slamming into him;)

I'm not saying the tech shouldn't exist.  I'm saying the tech as seen so far looks silly and TRON-like.

Wong.

I'd be satisfied

I don't understand why people don't like the omni blade. It works in a similar way to Tech Armour but instead of taking damage it dishes it out. I mean weren't people asking for something like this?

Oh well.

If we keep this up, they'll scrap the next gameplay demo or action-packed cinematic trailer in favor of 30 seconds of Neil Ross reading the codex entry for omniblades.

Casey Hudson will pop on the forums to say "Well, we were gonna show you a sneak peak of this awesome ten minute cinematic of Wrex leading a krogan horde against a reaper invasion, but instead you get a stern talking to about science!"

I'd take a good explanation (and possible re-design) on the Omni-Blade over any spoileriffic cinematic anytime to be honest ...
