Anyone got any suggestions, because the price difference is just ridiculous as these are the prices that I have found so far:

UK
Game: £69.99

US

Amazon: $79.96 = £49.13

If anyone can find cheaper alternatives for UK buyers, i would appreciate it.

Dunno what your complaining about. Living in Australia I have to pay $120 to get if from a store here or $110 to get it from a store in the UK.

I don't mind paying a little more. I hate a lot more that us in the uk/europe get the game 3 days later than the rest of the world.

All except for USD-based countries get ripped off majorly... UK is bad, Australia&NZ are getting ripped off too, and the Euro too in general (conversion course of 1 EUR: 1,2-1,3 USD, but they charge 59 EUR for a game which costs 59 USD... *sighs*)
And all US-based devs do that, sadly enough - besides the fact that if they develop an MMO, they all seem to think everyone on the world has an CC, the fools.

In Italy games cost €70. In Germany they cost €66. In France they cost € 65. Yes they charge a lot!

Swedes pay £97.62 for CE

Turkey was worse with a f*cked 300 TL which is 120 pounds. So I buy my sh*t from UK. Witcher 2 was 130 TL for example, which is 52 pounds, but while I was in the UK I bought it for 17.46 pounds.

The situation with digital download is awful as well.

For some reason, people from mid-south America and the Middle East are forced to use euros while making purchases through Origin. I am really eager to by the Digital Deluxe edition via Origin, but stupid EA is forcing me to pay with euros instead of dollars (we mostly deal with dollars where I live). Buying using euros is very expensive for me, and I am not gonna do that.

Me and some other folks complained in the EA forums, but our voice fell on deaf ears. EA representives responded that a fix is in the works. But it's been a few monthes and nothing has changed!
Please sound your voice in the EA forums:

They want to charge more locally, do it. I'll just do what all Australians have to do to get a good price - import. I have no problem waiting 2-3 weeks for a game.

By all means run an Australian digital store with the rip off as well, but if you are going to do that - run it out of Australia and pay the tax here instead of effecting the sale in the US/UK and pocketing the difference, as well as slugging us with a international transaction fee. And don't block us from accessing the overseas digital stores, or region lock on consoles.

But the reason why the rip off happens is because people persist in paying it. This thread and others are littered with people complaining about the price, but then dutifully paying the rip off when the game comes out. Don't buy the local rip offs, import it at the proper price and wear the fortnight wait, that is the only thing that will effect the price in your country. Local retailers would force pressure on the distributor, who in turn would ignore it forcing pressure on the publisher or put pressure on the publisher/government themselves. The seeds are already sown in Australia in regards to retailers, all we need is a big movement from customers away from the local rip off for the gears to start turning.

Moaning about it, yet still paying it - completely useless.

I cancelled my CE pre-order yesterday. Too expensive, and the fact that I HAVE to order it from Game is just silly. Do these publishers even WANT to sell games anymore?!

I'm still wondering if people who buy the normal edition will have to pay for the extra character like with Dragon Age 2. If they do that I'm officially done with Bioware. Don't threat your customers like s***!

Im on my last new EA games after ME3 and TOR. I wont be paying gouging prices for games no matter how good they are. Ill be doing what I do with most other game companys and waiting for price drops.

Im not going to keep buying CE versions just to get a complete game on launch. I dont mind that the character is left out unless you buy new, but not getting unless you go CE is a joke.

And EAs latest move of making Game the sole retailer for the CE versions is only to stop people around Europe from importing from the UK at cheaper prices. Amazon will always have good prices due to market competition between sellers. EA cant be having that!

I actually considered getting it for a while, but the price just takes the ****** and I'm not going to bother. If the extra character is released as DLC it'll still be about half the cost for me to just buy that and get the normal version.

Well, count yourself lucky 'cause in my country there is no Collectors Edition to buy. You have Dragon Age Origins and Awakening, Dragon Age 2, you get the point, but the only way is to buy them separately, meaning, you pay a lot more.

i have never been a fan of collector's editions. as much as i like mass effect, i dont think the bonus stuff is worth the extra money.

Anybody who is willing to pay EA/retailers over $100 for this CE deserves to be ripped off quite frankly. They are driving their customers underground at these prices.

Hrm... pay double the price basically for the exclusive character and mission (artbook, patch, etc = meh) or pay the regular price and download the exclusive stuff illegally at no extra cost on the PC? It's not exactly a difficult cost benefit analysis to make. Mass Effect 3 CE should be rated ARG for pirates at this rate.

When you've got over 20% real unemployment in most western countries nobody is going to give you a over a days wages for a video game.

Since it's a long time until release, I'll just wait and see if the price is adjusted.
If it doesn't change something is indeed very wrong.

Exchange rate: 1$ = 6,37 SEK
Price of games: 1$ = 10 SEK

This is ok because of the 25% etc. Usually standard editions of games can be bought for around 500 SEK on release.
The price of ME3 CE should then be 800 SEK, but instead it's 1000 SEK.

Price of ME3 CE: 1$ = 12.5 SEK

Wow I just checked how much the CE costs 1 028 kr.
ME 3 standard costs somewhere in between 422 kr to 628 kr.
A XFX HD6870 Black Edition 1GB costs 1 690 kr, thats pretty much as buying both the ME3 CE & ME3 standard.

Anyway Current rates are:
1.00 GBP     =     10.4209 SEK
1.00 EUR     =     9.08370 SEK
1.00 USD     =     6.34128 SEK

I think I'll also hold off ordering until later.

Let's face it - no amount of us talking about it will ever change anything.  The only real hope for Australian game prices is to get the ACCC to have a serious look into it.  I think it would make for excellent publicity for them if they investigated properly and found that retailers in Australia were slapping on margins of 80 - 120% for no reason other than they can.
