So saving earth is the premise if the entire series?
So it would seem. What are these "Reaper" things, anyway?

The Mass Effect series has been about advancing humanity's position on the galactic stage, so yeah it is.
Maybe when its all said and done its about what humanity did as a galactic legacy: heading a force that stopped the Reapers' slavery of organic life and its sole existence as being merely a crop.
But poor Garrus, Liara, Wrex and Thane. And Tali. They fought on the front lines, too.
Imo

It makes the decision more meaningful to see which character will react to you not being able to save their world.

Maybe someone already mentioned it, but what about Rannoch and the Quarians/Geth?
The Quarians just have to keep jumping every 33 minutes in order to avoid the Reapers since they don't have a planet to hold. The Geth on the other hand could just rebuild themselves.

Nice BSG reference. Best episode.
Earth is already a wastleand so I don't think there's much to sacrifice there. As long as humanity remains, Earth is just a symbol. Plenty of new planets (or old planets) to occupy after the war. But I would sacrifice the krogan homeworld & race to defeat the reapers. A dying race gets to die with honor, what's not to love?

Long term the asari are the greatest threat to humanity. Over countless generations they will infiltrate and influence us. The other races are just military rivals.

If I was able to save any other home world as well as earth
it would be in this order:
1. Tuchanka- I’d feel really bad letting them be completely annihilated after all the crap they’ve had to endure (Nuclear wars, early uplifting, genophage)
2. Sur’Kesh- Those sneaky salarians are my favourite council race.
3. Thessia- The Asari have been around for quite some time. I think that the population of Asari in the galaxy is high enough to deal with the loss of their home world.
4. Batarian- I’ve already killed 300,000… I’d rather help them than the turians.
5. Palaven- I say let it burn… I don’t like their attitude towards other races and especially towards humans. They think they’re so superior with their huge fleet and military, well they certainly don’t need the stupid human’s help.
As it burns I’d go out of my way and take the Turian councillor to Palaven’s orbit in the Normandy (if he survived). Then I’d point out of the window and ask him if he still thought the Reapers were a figment of the crazy human’s imagination.
I don’t know if we’ll be able to help anyone else, but I’d like to be able to help the elcor and the raloi. The greedy volus I don’t really care about and I think the yahg would just kick the reapers’ arses if they landed on their world.
Edit: fixed crazy formatting.

My thing with the asari is that when they marry/pair up with other races, their child will be asari... Then they outlive their partner and maybe pair up with another and possibly have another asari child. Am i blowing it out proportion or will the galaxy be full of asari after a few thousand years (if we survive the reapers).

That makes the most sense but I would still sacrafice the Asari since I bet they could rebuild themselves.

But yeah probablly would sacrafice the asari..... the galaxy eventually would be populated with nothing but asari as they borrow DNA and remain asari..... any races that think a child they have with an asari is preserving their own species heritage is mistaken... the child is blue through and through, it's not even a hybrid of the two species, it is just asari.

Just like all former colonies were doomed when mother england no longer supported them?
The human race just needs to adopt another planet to survive....Earth is pretty much depleted mineral wise as far as those scans go, so the planet has no -wealth- to offer other species anyway. Earth is just a habitable rock like any other in the galaxy... The death of earth by natural means won't mean the extinction of the human race if we are able to colonise other worlds.
If we sacrafice earth, it means taking the -fleet- with us..because you know, we are not sacraficing the fleet to save earth.
