Shepard takes down Reapers with his pistol and "Ultra Super Maximum Cain" in a scene much like ME2's final boss except there's several thousand bosses. The Reapers jockey to be the one to take down that "insignificant ant" (attributed to the late Harbinger), thus inadvertently lining up for Shepard to take them down 1 by 1.

Khalisah Al-Jilani: Representive for the Reapers, Harbinger said that he would have been happy to give more technology to the races except that due to Commander Shepard's efforts in getting the races to share their technology and to work together on the remains of the collectors and Sovereign, most of the galactic races are already only 2 or 3 decades behind cutting edge Reaper technology. Some may say that despite the terrible damage to Earth, it seems the aliens get more for doing less. Also, two clauses in the agreement stand out and should be closely examined. They are, firstly the turian counciler is never to use this air quotes and secondly a specific reporter must be punched every year.
