Yeah, I know you don't understand, Dragoonlordz. As I said, my point was probably over your head, and that quote proves it definitely is. Sorry dude, but worry not, I won't try to explain it to you again!

Eh, I don't think the whole thing is worth slitting my wrists over. I just wish femshep didn't look like a goddamned Bratz doll.
How does blonde hair make her a Bratz?
Why exactly does Femshep have be some grizzled, scar riddled, super ribbed chick with a crew cut to be considered "tough" and "edgy"? Please keep in mind I am both intentionally generalizing and exaggerating here, so as not specify to anyone. I merely dislike this supposed notion that if Femshep dips into being more feminine she is immediately pegged a doll or whatever equivalent.
^^This.
She's feminine, attractive and blonde and suddenly she's a porn star/doll *yawn* It's getting incredibly tedious.
Some of you obviously liked the manly, lopsided and slightly ugly Shep from before (and if you do then you can use her, can't you?) but those of us who didn't finally have the opportunity to have a model we do like.

My complaint is that according to their own statitics 18% play as femShep, but with a popular vote the 82% who don't play her (and a portion of those are the people who scream on here how she shouldn't even be an option at all) get to dictate how she looks for those of us who DO play her, and I happen to hate the one those dudes are picking. LOL I have my custom femSheps, and will be sticking with them regardless of what default Jane ends up looking like. I just find it unfair that the same guys who a few months ago were on these boards telling us that we should be happy to even have an option to play as female because it was a waste of resources in a military game are the ones with the numbers to determine the outcome.
It is not BioWare that I am irritated at, it is the hypocritical voters.
^^ I agree!
This is exactly what I meant what I said I didn't like the idea of a poll. People who don't play her are voting on how she looks and it's turning into a "whoz da hotness" contest to them.

That's nice, but realize that you're telling people that they're not allowed to have an opinion when you post this, DuckSoup. You've posted similar things several times, and I don't think you understand that saying "You're not allowed to complain because I like it" is kind of rude behaviour. You're welcome to do that, but please stop pretending to be shocked when people don't like it.
Also, heavy black eye-makeup and pretty, artfully messy hair is not the same thing as "feminine, attractive, and blonde". It's significantly beyond that.
One complaint that does seem like it's valid from the shots BW put on Facebook, but not from the actual close-ups at the 'Con is that they have doll-like perfect skin. So that's probably not going to be a problem.
Also, do you're a serious hypocrit to whine about this whilst calling current FemShep "manly, lop-sided and ugly". You're complaining about people insulting the thing you like, whilst being extremely rude about the thing other people like.

All the femsheps look like 17 year olds. They look almost exactly the same, just with different weaves. Miranda looks like a confident adult woman. Samara carries herself as a dangerous, beautiful warrior. These femsheps look like they should be getting ready for the SATs. I don't want ugly, I don't need scars up the yin yang and they don't need shoulders the size of krogans. I do want someone who looks like a soldier past the fresh flush of tweenhood. Make up, hair, not as big a deal for me. Don't give a s--t if she's blonde or a redhead or brunette.

I just find it upsetting that the same dudes who actively said femShep shouldn't exist, we should be happy to have the choice at all and quit wanting to see any marketing with her are voting 5 up with comments like "She's HAAWWTT, i'd totally tap that."
It is irksome. I am allowed to express that opinion, just as they get to express theirs while I wrinkle my nose at them and call them hypocrites for it. How is that stubborn? And why are you so angry?

Do you understand that heavy eye-make-up and artfully messy, very pretty hair are not the same thing as being simply "feminine"?

I know exactly what your saying and thats you don't think they gave you enough choices to be 'good enough' you have even said so yourself in almost those exact words. Well boohoo cry me a river I'm sorry but they are under no obligation to give you enough to satsify your own individual desires such as make up, eye colour, hair colour, freckles, birthmark or tatoos even one eye bigger then the other, half bred with another race, cybernetic implants choices.
They gave you a selection you pick from that selection and stop moaning about not enough choice for you.

No, I'm not saying people can't have an opinion at all. What I'm saying is that I, as a blonde, find it offensive when people automatically call the blonde option a 'pornstar' etc. The point is, those who dislike the design of the new FemShep can, if they prefer the older style, still use it. However before I had no option but to use it even though I didn't like it. Therefore, we now have potentially more options. Including other possible presets with differing hairstyles and so on. Do you understand?
And yes, I think she does look more feminine with those minor changes, like it or not.

As a poll, it wasn't a very good poll. If they'd made it narrower or wider, it would have been more effective. For example, if all the FemSheps were blonde and white, and they just showed the different haircuts, or if they had every haircut with every hair colour with everyskin-colour, both of those would have provided far more useful data if they wanted data.

Seems clear enough to me.
My response about how much is enough being subjective is valid. imho

Well, if it's greasy, unwashed and unbrushed, it fits ME lore perfectly:SarEnyaDor wrote...
It isn't the color that bothers me on that one (I voted for 4, btw) though it is sort breaking with the lore, it is the fact it looks greasy, unwashed and unbrushed.

Then why did you need to be so extremely rude about the current FemShep's look?
As for "no option", what you're saying you couldn't use the face generator? What do you mean "no option"?
Yes, this is an addition, and that's good, but that doesn't mean people aren't allowed to have opinions on it that aren't positive.
I do think people ragging on the "blonde" bit are barking up the wrong tree, but the eye-liner and pretty-messy hair are open to critique.

LOL, I hate that hair, too. I use the buns and ponytails precisely because of the greasy look.

The male 'greasy bangs' counterpart wasn't much better lol. Even Miranda's hair that looked the best were still kinda yucky. ME3 hair we saw on Ashley finally look really goodSarEnyaDor wrote...

Aren't other people being extremely rude about blondes? I thought I'd be just as rude and immature too. Except I'm not directing it at anything REAL. FemShep doesn't actually exist.
As for the face generator? No, it didn't work. As I've explained in other posts and other threads, unless you made your Shep ugly she ended up looking almost identical to every other Shep created (except for the hair colour/ style). This isn't something I've picked on randomly; it's something I've seen by studying a large selection of FemSheps across the internet.

But people who LIKE current FemShep ARE real! So you think the fact that "Dudebro X" insulted blondes because he's a twit means it's fine for you to insult everyone who likes the current FemShep? What?!
Seriously, DuckSoup, by doing stuff like that, you're becoming worse than half the people you're complaining about.

So let me get this straight - you believe all non-ugly FaceGen Sheps look the same. Okay, fair enough, that's your belief. But you seem to think the solution to this is that there should be a "default" FemShape face - doesn't that do exactly the same thing? Lead to all Sheps looking the same? I guess it might lead to two looks - the "FaceGen Pretty" Shep and the "Default" Shep. I guess two is better than one but that seems... questionable.
All this said, I've just seen a close-up of the new FemShep and she looks uncannily like my little sister, so I'm a bit weirded out by all this right now lol!
