Hi guys,

I've had Dragon Age Origins on the PS3 for roughly a year now but I've just got a new laptop and would like to know if I can run Origins and all the expansions.

DxDiag says my specs are;
Intel ® Core™ i5 CPU M 430 @ 2.27GHz (4CPUs), ~2.3GHz
3072MB DDR3 RAM
Integrated Graphics (this is the main part I'm wondering about)
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (6.1, Build 7601)

More info on graphics card;

Name: Intel ® HD Graphics
Manufaturer: Intel Corporation
Chip Type: Intel ® HD Graphics (Core i5)
DAC Type: Internal
Approx. Total Memory: 1307MB

DirectX Features;

DirectDraw Acceleration: Enabled
Direct3D Acceleration: Enabled
AGP Texture Acceleration: Enabled
DirectX Version: DirectX 11

So do you guys think I'd be able to run it? I think I would prefer PC version more as I heard Origins was made with PC in mind.

If I'm posting in the wrong section , sorry :crying:

Thanks for reading :)

Your graphics card is definitely not up to spec, but you can pick up a card that is more than capable of running it for ~$60 if you aren't bent on the highest graphics settings. It is definitely a better experience on a PC. Gorath Alpha has a lovely list of GPUs running around this forum somewhere. I'll see if I can track it down (or more likely, he will link it before I get that far)

Wrong. You only think you can. Intel is only able to make crap for video; that's the best they can do. Go ahead and waste your money on the game to find out.

DA2 is less demanding than DAO.

Missed that mobile part on your specs. D'oh! >.<

You might be able to run it, but you will be running the risk of overheating the poor thing and causing damage. You can certainly try. I would turn the graphics down, get a cooling pad, and limit gameplay time so you don't kill off your hardware.

There are two integrated versions included in the Sandy Bridge CPUs, for which, if you can get a working driver, one is at the same level as the lowest Radeon from last year, the HD 5450, which is Dx11, but will CHOKE on high and very high, same as Sandy Bridge.

The other Sandy Bridge video chip is about equal to a Radeon Chipset video chip, the HD 4250. It also will choke on high settings and very high. All four can "walk" (crawl) this game, if that's what someone wants to do, but none can "run" it.
