Yeah I agree.  She's 'Darwinian' in her approach.  This doesn't mean she seeks out others pain deliberately.

Maybe 'takes pleasure in others misery' was a bit extreme. My character actually was fairly good friends with her, 80% or so. She is very cynical and nonchalant though. And I still think she would get more pleasure out of making Alistair squirm about the whole deal (in the metaphorical sense, not the literal....) than the sleeping with him.

 Ok I have to put my 2 cents in here.

Yes, it's a single cutscene / animation set for that scene of the game, get over it.

They reuse a ton of animations all over the game to save on cost. It doesn't mean they're being lazy, it means they want to actually ship the game at some point. And frankly to people who work in Game Development it's a bit insulting that people would think it's lazy because you want a custom animation for this one single special case. The animation they use works very well, and all things considered this is one serious nit you're picking at.

And for those who want to cry that you paid for the game therefore you deserve to tell Bioware what to do, frankly that sounds just as stupid to me. 

Consider this, how many hours of gameplay are there in the game? How many different combinations? Have you seen some of the different expressions and animations used in the dwarven origin versus the Dalish elf one? Have you seem all the different possibilities in the game with different romances and how they effect things in other areas of the game? Have you seen all the different sidequests you have available, with all the different creatures you can fight? All of them with their own set of animations.

The point is this game is HUGE, and there is a MASSIVE amount of content everywhere. Just consider how long Dragonage was in production and realize that each year of development litterally cost millions of dollars in opperating costs alone. That's not counting things like mo-cap sessions and salaries of all the great voice actors that have thousands of lines to read for every single possibility the designers could think of. Quite frankly you're getting a huge deal at an insane value when you get this game considering how much went into it, even if you say splurge on the collector's edition. So quibbling over a relatively minor detail like this is definitely silly at best. Sure given enough time and money they could add more to the game, but at some point you're talking about a massive investment for very little return. Not to mention adding several more years to the development time.

Oh, Morrigan is a physically attractive lady, I must say!  So, I'm sure Alistair enjoys it on a physical level.  They are saying he doesn't enjoy it at a mental level, if you want to separate physical from mental.  This isn't an easy separation imo <_<

Allistair he's Innocent (virgin at the of start the game and remain virgin if you you aren't romancing him has a chick) . Also if you talk to him has a male character .. he ask you about what you think of the companion and when he talk about Moriggan he clearly say how much he find her unattractive(she's look like a barbarian) and how much he hate her.He find her unattractive because he hate her.Also he ask me if i feel it's important for him to lose his virginity.He his seriously not the horny little teen living in the usa that watch porn on the internet and want to lose it to become a *man* .. Oh man i find this one funny.

I did the Dark Promise with Morrigan and Alistair on my first playthrough and I remember thinking to myself how WELL that scene seemed to fit.

From what I remember he had a pretty terrified look on his face and looked like he was about to crawl up the bed or jump off at any moment.

I laughed so badly about it. I was thoroughly entertained by his obvious cringe and fear. He was trying to back off as much as he could and I though he appeared to be still hoping that someone tells him he is off the hook and is allowed to run away from there.  For me, it was a perfect cutscene.

I mean it isn't unreasonable to expect your love interest to at least come cuddle with you on what might easily be your last night together - but no instead they chill downstairs with dog and Sten  Obviously not much thought has gone into that. And let me state that Zevran calling you "my friend" before you head into the city is rather annoying too

But considering Alistair/Morrigan scene the "You're not gonna suffer quite as much as you think" probably refers to her putting a Charm spell or something like that on him. She's a witch and a seductress so it's makes pefrect sense after all...
Also there's a thin line between hate and attraction and sex with someone you originally disliked can be "interesting" *cough* not that I'd know anything about it of course

Even if he were finding her unattractive I think he's making the best out of the situation. He knows he has to do it, and at least he can try enjoying it somewhat although he doesn't really look comfortable with the situation.
