To me this is just lazy as the feature is dead simple to implement.
Why is it still not possible to delete DAII characters from your profile?

Probably because it's linked to EA's personas system(which is terrible by the way). You can't delete a persona, therefore you can't delete a character. It's the same thing I suppose.
