"Given Corypheus's confusion when he first awakens, could it be that the Architect is himself one of the original Tevinter magisters? Has he suffered some kind of memory loss, or simply gone mad over time and come to believe himself to be just an aberration among darkspawn, instead of one of their progenitors" DarkAger
This seems logical to me. Agree?

If i remember things right, supposedly the Old Gods were put underground by the Maker for teaching humans magic and making them turn away from the Maker and to worshipping the old gods. The whole trip to the golden city thing was an attempt of the old gods to free themselves.PsychoBlonde wrote...
It's just a theory--it doesn't explain why the old gods are buried under the ground, for instance. Perhaps whatever the magisters did caused some sort of terrible damage to the old gods, who retreated into hibernation as a defense.
It's... simple and logical enough chain of events to find it pretty plausible. Maybe the whole getting the magisters tainted and creating darkspawn was actually part of the old gods' plan, as opposed to granting the magisters power which they could use to free the old gods... considering the darkspawn does work relentlessly on trying to get the old gods out, ever since.

The old gods were powerful creatures. They may have been human or something that originated in the fade. But the interesting thing is that they always take the form of a dragon when they become the archdemon. I wonder what the significance of that is.

Old Gods when they were old gods were worshiped as dragons forms..... at least according to the wiki.
Maybe the Old Gods who become Arch Deamons to be slain and destroyed by Grey Wardens is part of the plan to kill the Old Gods off..
There were Seven Old Gods... there's been five blights..... two Old Gods left....

The fun stuff:
There are records that the Old Gods communicated with their worshippers.
Old Gods are really powerful ancient Dragons.
Regular High Dragons can also communicate with it's followers. Andraste the High Dragon, for example, the chief method seems to be by drinking their blood.
Drinking Darkspawn blood kills, but to those it doesn't, they are now able to hear the song of the Old Gods.
Feels like missing a piece of the puzzle here. Will take a smarter person than me to figure it out.

Yeah I was kind of thinking the same. Wasn't one of the sources of blood magic from the Old Gods as well as demons? I seem to remember that. The High Dragon near Haven was having the cults use a form of it. Maybe because most natural magic works with lyrium, the combination of blood magic (ie the physical) with lyrium combined with a physical presence in the fade did something which caused the taint. Which was the end goal. It allows the tainted to hear Old Gods so as to be found.
In that case perhaps the taint is one of the few things that can awaken an Old God which is why they are willing to subject themselves to it.
Now if you believe Flemeth an old god then you know they found a way to get around being tainted with the dark ritual.

It's probable that they actually are dragons. If it looks like a dragon, acts like a dragon, and mauls people like a dragon... you know.stewie1974 wrote...

Carver plowed through most of everything except for the final boss encounter.
I just finished my first play through -- had Carver, Merrill, & Varric with my femHawke Blood Mage -- Carver was the only one who could withstand the battle with Cory -- guess because he had the most life ... the others kept getting knocked out & poor Carver had to fight by himself until very end when he got a break and was able to revive the others (thank the Maker for Mythal's Favor) just in time for it to show his big sis killing Cory (even though it was Carver who was doing the attacking)

I'm... wow, it isn't very spoilery but it almost brought a tear to my eye. Archery Hawkes don't have the generic melee "finisher" on Corypheus but actually gets one of their own.
Props to whoever did those!
Huh, mine just stabbed him with and then sheathed an invisible weapon.
Did you get a different version of the Key weapon than you commonly use? IE, if you got the dagger but you mostly use the bow, it'll fire the dagger version of the cutscene because it checks the same flags as the key checks.
Now if only Mage Hawke could use the Fade Arms and rip Corypheus apart instead of blasting him with arcane bolts:O
P.S. Good job to the guys who got the VA for Corypheus (and giving him trash talking lines during the final boss fight

Sebastian was totally hitting on Bethany in mine. That chaste little prince lays one finger on my sister, and he'll be singing soprano for the Starkhaven Chantry Boy's Choir, and no image of Andraste on his crotch will protect him.

Sorry, but what's all this explanation all about if you don't mind explaining it to me? I just blitzed through the game today (I planned to re-do it again though to get all DLC items and stuffs), but I don't I've come across this so called explanation of yours...Thessair wrote...

That's just a theory made by one of the Wardens, though, and one that no one bothered to test.Thessair wrote...
I'm happy we finally have an explanation why every mage and their brother in Kirkwall is a blood mage.
True, but it's better than what we had before.
Was it that speculation theory about Kirkwall that you meant?

Sided with Larius both times, also fairly convinced Corypheus is just chillin' in his body now.
Didn't hear much from LI Isabella. Took Aveline and Varric along as well. Some of the inter-party banter was pretty funny stuff. Aveline makes fun of Isabella and asks Varric what will happen to her "character" in the serial he's making. He replies he lets the characters dictate the stories
If you have Carver as a Templar and didn't do much with him you have an option to ask him why he joined the Templars. He gets all huffy and pissy before storming off, at which point you gain +5 rivalry. The only redeeming quality in his response is that your father believed in what the Templars were doing and he felt he should as well. BUGGER OFF CARVER!

Thankyou bioware, legacy was wonderful. I was pleasantly surprised after the previous dlc we have been given. The only thing that made me sad was I had no romance banter from fenrisit would have been the icing on the cake, but apart from that you did a great job and I'm about to play it for the third time. Keep up the good work
I suspect the lack of Fenris is a bug.
