Short, sweet, and not very long. That is what Legacy is. It's short, but only by 3-5 hours, if you do the side-quests, and to get the armor, which, all I did was get the gloves, boots, and the chest. It was only good for achievements, but not good for higher difficulty. I will say that the final boss is a beast on Nightmare, and if not to add insult to injury, they had to make us deal with idols and AI bots when doing these idols.

I felt like I was fighting the Archdemon's younger brother, but also, a bit more toward the Architecht and Broodmother from DAOA. Both were challenging, but very much so easy to complete. It gave me a sense of joy when I got every DLC achievement, but not a filling of my soul. I'd still say that this DLC kept some of the idea that we need more DLC like this, but what I would have loved is Interaction with your party members again, like in Origins. But only time will tell when that will be, maybe DA3 will give us our interactions once more, and a new character and more diverse story that deals with DA2's "temp vs magi" war. I'd bet that we get a DLC that is going to tell us where Hawke went/is in the mid-future of next year.

It was longer than I expected it would be and I have to say tons better than DAOA!! I wimped out and only made it through on hard lol!! While I find the story line of Hawke interesting, I think they could add to DAO.. Go back to the very begining and tell a story on how Wardens were created.. I dunno my 2 cents.. I couldn't agree more on the inter-acting with my party members I LOVED THAT PART!! Oh I was glad to have a dog back lol.. All in all it was fairly good DLC! Think I'll try DA2 as a Mage now..=]

How do you get through the blue barrier

To get through those color barriers, you have to activate a few power nexus, they look like big torches and will light up when you interact with them. Then you have to do a puzzle in a room where you have to align the torches on a wall. Its not a difficult puzzle.

Did anyone else's Warden's ears perk up from thousands of miles away when Janeka said "and this was the weakest blight yet" (rough paraphrase). His mighty "screw you" could be heard reverberating across Thedas.

I just finished the DLC. My initial thoughts: It was better than I was expecting, but then I wasn't expecting much at all from it.

I'm very glad Carver had a lot to say since I love him to bits, especially Warden Carver. I wish I'd been able to react to the idea that he's got the taint, though. Hawke said absolutely nothing about the prospect of her brother turning into Larius a few years down the line. Still, Carver was the best part of the DLC for me. I wanted to hug him in that final conversation, though. CARVER, Y U NO HUG ME? T_T

On the other hand, I'm very disappointed at how little Fenris had to say. No mention of the Fenris romance in spite of the Comic-Con panels saying that romances would be acknowledged. Booooo. I was hoping with a lengthy DLC involving your sibling that he just might have something to say about it, but no. Sadface.

I have to say, if Corypheus had been the main villain of DA2 from the start I think it would have been a much better game. If instead of the Chantrysplosion/Orsino/Meredith thing, Hawke had discovered that Corypheus was the cause of Kirkwall's blood magic/demon problems and general corruption, then went to destroy him and cleanse Kirkwall to prevent the inevitable civil war. And then he could have been the one to corrupt Meredith instead of the plot device idol.

As a side note, we now know Hawke's age, more or less. Leandra was either already pregnant or had just had the baby when they left Kirkwall, which was 25 years ago.

Also, Larius is totally possessed. Jerk.

Larius is a thinking talking darkspawn, Why else would he thank us for his freedom. since he excepted his calling.

One thing I found that was a "oh well' moment was that I did the saving Nathaniel quest this time around after I did Legacy with Bethany as a warden. It seemed to me that at the end of Legacy Bethany understood and was no longer angry at Hawke for making her a warden, but when I got to Nathaniels quest and Bethany was there she was back to being snarky again.

N.B. To the posters still responding to my picture of Hawke with glowy eyes ~ Yes it was the potion as is mentioned a few pages back...

I had the same responce with carver him being a templar. He stoped being a ass about magic for a moment then right back to it when I met him with the knight commander and orsino.

Larius thanked Hawke for freeing him because when Corypheus was killed, he went into Larius. That's my theory, anyway.

Was sad panda face that Fenris-love was not acknowledged. Thought something would be said when Varric called out Hawke for sleeping around ("she's no virgin" lol) but not a peep. The only time Fenris said anything sort of cute was at the beginning where he said something like "Well we need to kill them so they won't bother you anymore."

ಠ_ಠ

I saw some dialouge for Anders, and absolutely squee'd with delight for Seb's dialouge (although I wish a Dev could put to rest the rumor about rivalmance getting a cutscene kiss, that was clearly a troll) but was a little disheartened Fen wasn't in there, especially with a post game save where we have over come his awkwardness. The siblings comment on all the other LIs except for him, as it stands.

I think my favorite part was at the end with Bethany talking about how Carver was the little soldier and I was the little scoundrel. Love that word and description. ^ㅂ^

Sorry for trolling you guys with Seb kiss, I just really wanted a romance cutscene in Legacy. Not just for him but all LIs, especially Anders after he goes all Justice rage on his love.

Was that a romance dialogue? I noticed it was different. On my (rival) romanced PT, he said "They won't have a chance to attack again" or something like that and seemed really ferocious. But on my unromanced (full friendship) Fenris on another save, he just said something like he couldn't believe someone would try to attack Hawke. I didn't know if it was a romanced/unromanced thing or a friendship/rivalry thing.

And YES. I expected at least a cleared throat, a raised eyebrow, something when Varric said that! :P

Nice DLC, very short but enjoyable. I played it as mage and rogue, couldn't say there were any major differences except for the final blow on Cory. It was nice to have some challenges too - the puzzle to merge the 4 beams, and the final boss fight.

The only disappointment - there is no mention of the Fenris romance. He acts like nothing happened (compared to Anders, who keeps calling you 'love' and says he's worried for you). That was probably to make it easy for the devs.. but they could have ran a check - if you go in DLC after finishing the game, add a cutscene with Fenris, really would that have been so hard?

That's what I am saying, I think it's supposed to be acknowledging the romance but it doesn't really seem like it. Anders says something along the lines of "I judt don't want you to get hurt" which is clearly a romantic line, but with Fenris, not so much. I get that Anders is more comfortable with his feelings considering that this is one of the few "romantic" lines for him that didn't bug it defintely leaves more to be desired.

There's a youtube video of some lines said in what I think is an Act 2 playthrough where Hawke/Fenris have broken up but still have feelings for each other, but I haven't come across any dialouge that is applicable for post game saves, or even had either of the siblings make a comment about the relationship...

just to add to that, I totally got the same feeling with Janika.....I was soooo pissed when I had to just watch her walk away.

Agreed. I sided with Janika the second time and it was even more blatant. She thanked Hawke for making her a 'new person'.

One problem. Although it's pretty much guaranteed Corypheus will return: the wonderful end of quest line in the journal: 'He is dead. For now.' Wouldn't Corypheus be destroyed if he transfered into a Grey Warden?

Corypheus in not an archdemon, he is an old magister and as such is likely privy to the same body hopping techniques as Flemeth...

Oh yeah, that's true. That comparison is interesting, could Flemeth be a Tevinter Magister?

hmm I personally don't think she is but its worth the consideration, for me she seems way to concerned with helping the grey wardens and making sure people meet their ''destinies'' lol

Overall I enjoyed Legacy. It was nice to interact with Bethany/Carver again, especially since they're absent for most of the game. The 1-on-1 family moments were touching. It was also nice to talk about Wardens and darkspawn instead of mages and templars. It kinda felt more like I was back in Fereden (just kind of though). My Warden was actually referenced a few times! That was definitely refreshing to hear.

As for the lack of romance refernces, I too am dissapointed. I brought Merrill and Fenris along (during seperate playthroughs) hoping that they'd make refernce to that fact that they're in love with Hawke. Alas, nothing. I haven't tried it yet with the Anders relationship, but I hope there's something considering what Anders ends up having to do in Legacy.
