That means the Chantry might actually have some truth to them...
Then that changes my perception to DA's Chantry and Andraste. I always thought Andraste was some fictional figure made up by the religion.

Did anyone else's Warden's ears perk up from thousands of miles away when Janeka said "and this was the weakest blight yet" (rough paraphrase). His mighty "screw you" could be heard reverberating across Thedas.
LOL, I had the same reaction and verbally said nearly the same thing to Janeka while playing.
Same here. =/

The best lies have some truth to them. It wouldn't surprise me if we learn the various things about Andraste's history that wasn't revealed, more about the magisters that went to the golden city, etc.rpgfan321 wrote...
I initially thought the Chantry was bogus and all. Like pfft. But after seeing Corpheyus start talking about the Golden City being corrupted and stuff... O.o

Maybe Cory died in the fight but like the archdemon, his essence simply transferred to the nearest with tainted blood? I know that if the archdemon dies and transfers his soul to a grey warden the warden will die but maybe not with this guy? Maybe the soul isn't as large? Also, are all darkspawn who are "intelligent" ala architect and the mother able to commune with the others via a hive mind type of thing or is it solely the archdemon who can? I find it interesting that he can do that seemingly more effectively than the archdemon himself as well because while playing you learn that Cory plays with the minds of grey wardens and is actually able to stay their hands and prevent them from taking him down.........hhhmmmmmm.....

Oh Cor. I don't think I ever had such a frustrating boss battle. Not even a High Dragon was this terrifying. At least with a High Dragon my characters could dodge or defend. But with you? You took out half of my team, twice, before I could end you. And I SAW that sinister smile Larius gave off camera. Damn it, I don't want to face you again ;-;

Also, Fenris was a total BAMF during the final boss. Through my negligence, Anders and Varric died pretty much around the 75% health mark (doh!) so it was left to Hawke and Fenris to fight through all the flames and rock etc. just the two of them. I was button mashing furiously then- @£$!!£! Hawke died when he was just under 50% health. Fenris did some serious ass kicking though and completed the fight on his own! xD I'm very intrigued by the end, I sided with Lorius (or however it was spelt) and it did seem like he was possessed (the evil smirk and him twice repeating his thanks for freeing him was a dead giveaway). It was also very interesting to see that perhaps the story of the original darkspawn wasn't just myth after all! Even though Anders was in denial about it before the fight, he couldn't ignore the evidence with the Tevinter pendant after it.
And as I played it with my end-game save, I had a very touching scene at the end of it all with Hawke visualising talking to her mother about her father in front of the fireplace, then opening her eyes to see she's alone - it actually made me tear up a bit
Need to replay it with my male mage Hawke also for all that unique dialogue! Love it, definitely worth the money IMO.

In the initial fight, attack as individuals using pause if you have to issue direct orders.
Whilst he's calling down fire, select all your team (PC: Ctrl + A or Mac: Cmd + A ) and keep them selected.
Use right click to put them on the steps of any alcove. When the hand icon appears, click it and zap the two guardians one at a time (all companions attacking at once takes them down fast).
Watch the sweeping fire and stay behind it, using the right click to place your team to move to the next three alcoves. Complete the alcoves and then attack Corypheus in the middle.
Move quickly to an alcove when he calls down the next element.
Follow the same procedure for all the other elements, waiting for a spaces to appear and right click your whole team into them. Pause is very useful here to plot your path!
You will need someone with stun :pinched:capability when Corypheus cloaks himself in rock. Golem's Fist is a good follow up to Cone of Cold or a warrior stun attack.
I had no extra elemental protection on any character and none was injured. Careful movement is the key.

First i enjoyed the setting seeing more of the grey wardens, getting more of the lore about he darkspawn hawke family and the breaching of the golden city. I especially liked how the story seemed to validate parts of the chantry religion much like how some ireligions put their own spin on real world events of the past and even the present. It really fitted in well with the main story and could have easily been one of chapter finale crisis points, which brings me to my problem with it.
The problem for me is that this wasn't additional interesting information its parts of the story that are vital to understanding what is going on in Kirkwall and Thedas in general especially when you combine what you learn from this DLC with the engima of Kirkwall. When you find out that one of the original tevinter magisters who breached the golden city is buried not far from kirkwall and that Kirkwall itself may be the location from which the Magisters attempted to enter the city everything from the weakened fade to crazy blood mages and primiveal thaigs starts to coalesce into a coherent story or at least theories in the minds of players you only have to look a the threads discussing it to see this happening. That it was DLC that did that speaks well about Legacy but really badly about story and plot decisions taken within he original game.
Now my side bar into bashing the core game is over anyone else think during the implied body hoping at the end immediately of flemeth? i'm pretty sure she won't end up being anything we've seen before, possibly the dread wolf (it is said he could walk between both races of gods and if the old gods are the forgotten ones then it makes sense that the dread wolf could indeed appear as a dragon). I am interested to see where some of what Corypheus mentioned goes such as potentially being tricked by Dumat or that the black city was already black and possibly never golden to begin with.

I personnally thought Legacy was great. The lore followed what DA:O had put in place, the new DLC items were great, and the character banter... Hilarious :-). I do however think that the Hawke's Key is kind of worthless lol no matter what upgrades you put on it. But that's just my opinion. I think the disscussion with Corypheus could have been longer and more coherient with all the freakin puzzles they put you through to get to him.. which by the way were nice to see :-).
All in all, great job guys. If I had one thing to gripe about its: if I'm paying 10 dollars for a DLC, I would like at least the same about of new items that you would get from a 5 dollar item pack, plus some additional story input. So I quote The Wolf "Pretty please, with suger on top. Keep making quality DLC's".

... boy was I wrong.
The story's alright. I liked it fine, love the ramifications of it, and can't wait to see what's going to happen now that Cory's free.
Loved the character stuff, the dialogue was great, talking to mom was great, the sibling stuff is, yes, great. It was all well done. I sided with the crazy guy on his Calling the first time around and then the Mage who thinks she can take Cory second time around. I didn't like the mage woman. I don't think there's a single person out there who heard "I can brainwash an ancient evil" and believed her. I did like the "Oh, ****" bit. But while that was hilarious it kind of underscored the fact that there really isn't a choice here.
Well, not a logical choice anyway.
The side missions were well done. And I loved the level design. The desert, the carta fortress, and the Deep Roads were all well done. The Deep Roads will be my focus here since they're the second time I've actually felt like I was traveling through the ruins of a dwarven city (the other being Cadash Thaig). It was great. I loved it's look, atmosphere, and feel.
All around it's probably the high mark for the series in terms of DLC. It's only contender being Soldier's Peak. And from the outside looking in it looks like Mark of the Assassin will blow Legacy out of the water. So keep kicking ass, BioWare.
EDIT:
Oh, and the Genlock design is a vast improvement over the Origins design. They look great, they fight well, and I just love the design --- bestial, primal, and vicious. They're almost like mini-ogres. In fact, Darkspawn combat is shaping up to be very interesting now. I actually can't wait for the day when we can fight with ogres, genlocks, hurlocks, and sheiks again. Perhaps an Emissary or two as well, but I hate them.
Not because of their look but because of that AoE fire spell of their's.

What I though was most impressive though was the new lore they put into it. Corypheyus definitely looks like he could have been one of the first magisters to bring the blight back from the fade. Out of all the darkspawn designs, he looks the most...human. And I don't know about the rest of you, but he put some serious thoughts into my head when he said that the Golden City was a lie. That it was already black and corrupt when they got there. I'm really looking forward to future DA games and DLC. I want more of the lore and story filled in. We're left with just too many questions!! lol

Ack ... it was a hard fight, yeah. My team died multiple times T.T At the end, it was just Hawke and Anders, and I had to keep pulling Anders after Hawke b/c the silly git would just stand there in the line of rotating fire lol

What happens to Carver/Bethany if you bring them along before "The Deep Roads"? Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't they leave after Legacy? What happens in/after the Roads then?
I'm also wondering what will happen if you try to play Legacy after the Deep Roads and... *SPOILER*
