Has anyone played it while romancing Fenris, and if so, does the romance get acknowledged if he's already done the running away thing?

Or, in other words, if I want the romance to be acknowledged, do I have to do the DLC in Act 3, post "Alone"?

What interested me about the dlc was the fact that the golden city might ont have actually been golden it may have been filled with nothing but darkness. So the maker might actually be related the the darkspawn in some way since he did turn the magisters into darkspawn. Maybe it was always the black city hmmmmmm so  this means that the maker is something evil/ filled with darkness?. I gotta say though this is the best dragon age dlc I have played.

Did anyone pray to Dumat's Alter? And does it help in any way? I could only find Dumat's Dagger, the three other things seemed rather illusive to me.

I have to say that the final boss was really original - it took over 2h to beat him on Nightmare. I should say is a great DC, specially on Nightmare - few of the fights are gonna make u insane :)

P.S. - About "Helm of the Fortress" - if I recall correctly it is on the last level, before the final boss level - in the north east. Hope this is helpful.

Well the crow is on the same level as the dagger - a little before it.
The other two are on the same level as the altar - one bofore it ( on the wall?ooo?) and one is after the altar where u will face spiders and lizards.

U will get a belt ( not that impresive ), so u may want to just do some rampaging and kill few extra demons insted.

You get a pendant or something, and corphy mentions it too I believe.

The whole thing about the golden city got me, he said it wasn''t even golden it was black before they even set foot in it. There was no golden city, Only A black city which make sense as demons have domains wouldn't surprise me if the Black city was the domain of the most powerfulest demon in the fade.

About how long is the DLC? Is it worth the amount of Bioware points?

I also took about four hours.  And it is very much worth the Bioware points.  I thought it was the best mission of the game.  Excellent character interaction too, especially the dialogue with Carver and Varric.  And Corphy makes a compelling villain.

Yeah I am starting to think the maker is just some uber demon now after that scene.

I think I am going to read up on the golden city on the dragon age wiki now. The fact that the golden say was actually filled with darkness is wavering in my mind :X

Making it already tainted, but by what?

Demons hate mankind they are jealous of man so why not corrupt a few and watch them blight the lands.

Maybe the city  always tainted as you said demons hate mankind. Also i just remebered something, remeber that orphanage from DAO and that demon/spirit said that maker is not real or something like that. Maybe the maker is actually a demon thats why demons AND spirits get confused when humans ask about the maker. I am starting to really think the maker is so form of demon now since he tainted the magisters, he cannot be good at all and the fact that the city was not filled with light but darkness.

As someone who was uncomfortable with plenty of the DAII changes and remained a Warden fan, I have to say I really liked Legacy.  It wasn't as long as I'd have liked (and I haven't yet finished the final battle, have an operation tomorrow and needed a nap!), but all I enjoyed thus far was very fun.  It felt like something that would have perked the original DAII release nicely with a bit of extra story on launch, but I'm still very happy to have it now!  Took my blood mage Hawke (who was apparently still shocked about his father's secret, you know, THAT one? lol), his romanced Fenris, and Varric and Carver.  Some lovely dialogue and laugh out loud bits (Varric's comment about him not being a virgin was my favourite).;)

Had some niggles in the final battle with my entire party standing around in the fire and getting caught on the rocky obstructions!  I tried several times to get them to stay with me, move along, etc, but whenever I turn around they're all standing in the fire again or caught on rocks, dying!  Anyone else have this problem or any tips?  They all seem to have totally lost their common sense and survival instincts involving fire.  I also saw that other mages were having awkwardness with the final battle.  Some of the "getting caught on rocks" looked glitchy at one point so I hope I can minimise it!

I've had fun with this today, thank you so much Bioware. I was initially peeved that there was no relevance to the Origins Warden despite it referencing the Wardens, but having said that the Wardens in Legacy kind of annoyed me so I'm glad my own Warden was kept at a distance from them.

Looking forward to more, original and well-backgrounded expansions like this one!  Now if my mage can stop his companions from committing suicide in the flames, I'll be set. :wizard:

;] Maybe theres a reason why Dwarfes don't dream, and we know that Sandal does. With his magic resistants does he see things differently in the fade, or see things for what they actually are?

I litterally paused the game, switched to a campanion and made them run up the stairs to the statues then attack the guardians inside the enclove... that kept em alive mostly.. My problem wasn't so much with warrior types, but ranged attack types who would attack the guardians while standing out side of the enclove.......

alternative is to run inside the enclove and -not- activate the statue till your campanions are inside it with you.

Regroup inside the enclove before summoning creatures your stupid party mates will attack from range...while standing in line to the flames.

Thank you so much, I'll take that into account when I next try  I really appreciate it!

And with regard to posting feedback and gameplay questions, I saw it was called the Legacy thread and spoilers were allowed, so I didn't want to mention the final battle or anything dodgy in a spoiler-free thread.  Saw that some others were doing it, and I'm a bit fraught about my operation tomorrow so I apologise if I posted hastily.  Glad to read that others are getting good out of it too! :)

It's a note fairly early on in the game... what i quoted was just a snippet of the note... but it was on one of the lootable carta members if I remember correctly....

Finished today in around 4 hours - took Fenris, Isabela and Bethany. I completed it in Act 1, so only flirted with Fenris a little so I had no acknowledgement of a romance, although the banter between him and Isabela was pretty good. The boss scene was trying as at level 9 no one is really skilled. And apparently they all want to die via fire!

I'm also wonder where the helm is.

Alathin wrote...

also... Where is the helm? I explored everywhere on my rogue except behind the life savour coloured rainbow doors near the end... Might have to re-load a save before the DLC in order to get that damn helm lol.

The helm is indeed behind the coloured wards, the ones you have to unlock by trifling with the torch-defense-thingies.

I think you find them in that area just before you head underground. The one where you face two bronto's, with carta dwarves prancing out of sneaky side-rooms and everything. I think I found the boots near the area where you get the key to open the gate.

And I'd actually like to know this, too. I got a few references out of Anders on my Rogue, saw in this thread that Carver acknowledges a Merrill-romance, but I haven't gotten anything relating to Fenris yet.

During the final battle if you select all party you can move them out of the fire. One of the reasons they will stand in it is to fight the 2 shades that spawn after touching a idle. The burn doesn't seem as bad if you stand all the way up the stairs as it passes.

I sided with the ghoul and it was easy to tell something wasn't right when he turned around thanking for his freedom with that smirk on his face. If he wasn't pocessed then he now has Cory's power.
