Hey all,
Maybe I'm just slow but I'm stuck in the room with the columns. Never been good with puzzles, i prefer to simply kill things. How do you lower the barrier?

I just did this ... If only I could see what you have done. I remember turning the very first column by the exit to look to the entrance door and the column that goes to to send the beam thing to the other ones. Not really sure how to describe it on a forum page.

Thanks anyway, Killer. Appreciate the post. Finally figured it out, would help if I looked at the columns more carefully. Noticed the glowy bits and just had set it up right. My brain hurts.

It kinda tripped me at first too just because I didn't know what the goal of the puzzle was, lol. Was I noticed the glowy bits, it's actually pretty easy.

That room is far easier than the one with the fires you light. But then again that puzzle is easier than the similar one in the Witcher 2. I couldn't figure out the Witcher 2 puzzle, but did DA2s on my own.
=== Door ===
|1| - - - - - - - |4|
|2| - - - - - - - |5|
|3| - - - - - - - |6|
=Sarcophagus=
1 affects 6
2 affects 3 and 6
3 affects 2
4 affects 1 and 5
5 affects 3 and 6
6 affects 3 and 4
I tend to mess around with them for a while until most are light, then use the note I made to light the last. If someone wants to figure out the order to light them all, knock yourself out.
Edit: I think this is the solution...
Hit - Result active
1 - 1, 6
4 - 4, 5, 6
1 - 1, 4, 5
2 - 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6

In your diagram, hit 2 and 4. That lights everything up in 2 steps.

2 and 4 both affect 3 and 6. Thus cancel eachother out so you just end up with 2 and 4 light.

Actually, using only 2&4 resolves the puzzle without any problem. That's how I did it.

Apathy, I'm pretty sure you posted the right solution to the wrong puzzle. What you posted was for the torches and the sarcophagus before entering the tower. I'm fairly certain the original poster was wondering about the column and light puzzle further inside the tower. I'm currently stuck on it as well. The premise is to turn all the columns so that each beam of light is connected to its start and end points on the wall. It could be that I'm just too tired to see it, or that I'm just missing the connection somewhere (pun not intended).
EDIT: Just solved it. Doy...

How do you connect all the light columns together with 4 colours red blue green and orange? Orange is the default one.

Least favorite part of the DLC. I kinda hate "maze and puzzle" crap.

I just randomly turned every single column an arbitrary amount of times and it seemed to work out in the end. Mindless stupidity can sometimes work too!

For those of you who are like me and feel like time is of the essence here and you shouldn't waste time on annoying puzzles here's the solution:
http://ziedrichsblog...riannons-floor/
I will note, you just get a crappy helmet, at least for Act 3, may be more useful in Acts 1 or early Act 2. If you have the item DLC packs its even more worthless. That said the puzzle grants XP so it may be worth doing.

Solving Colour Puzzle In Riannon’s Floor
First you need some points of reference – Notice that there are two openings in the room – one leads to a broken pathway, the other leads to a pathway leading to another area. These are your points of reference - the broken pathway will be on your left (west) and the un-broken pathway is at the top (north) See my diagram here - www.exposedvisions.com/Web%20Images/Riannon%20Puzzle.jpg
The diagram shows the 9 pillars containing movable nodes, 3 of the pillars have no beams connected - These are numbered 1, 2, and 3. Also note there are 6 pillars (numbered 1-6) which need repositioning. These are colored per the primary beams they affect.
Let get started – Go to pillar 1 and turn it 3 times (X) – you should have a red beam going to it, and a red beam going to pillar 2.
Go to pillar 2 and turn it 3X till you get a blue beam going to it, and a blue beam going to pillar 4. You’ll also notice a red node on pillar 2 pointing towards pillar 3.
Go to pillar 3 (which still has no beams) and turn it 1X till you have a red beam going to it and blue beams flowing from pillar 4 through it (P3) to pillar 6
Go to pillar 4 and turn it 2x - the red node on the wall turns to a white beam.
Go to pillar 5 and turn it 3X till the white beam turns yellow. It should be flowing from pillar X to pillar 5, and from pillar 5 to pillar 2
Now go to pillar 6 and turn it once – yellow and green beams turn white.
That’s it. Done! The shields to all the blocked rooms are now down.
Anyway here’s the short version using the diagram as a reference….. Pillar #
1 – 3X
2- 3X
3- 1X
4- 2X
5- 3X
6- 1X
NOTE: this walkthrough assumes the beams are at their default settings – that is you haven’t touched them yet. If you have, I suggest you go back to a save before messing about and start from there. That’s what I did.

Easiest thing to do with the Larius puzzle (short of looking up a map of which way each bottom sconce should point, which I do now - wish I had a scanner, I'd put it up on the wiki or something) is to go activate all three sconces, then come back and solve for blue. Blue only has one correct solution and it's pretty easy to figure out, you can only send each beam in one direction and make it work. That should get all the others very close to complete as well, and you should only have to rotate a few more columns, avoiding those on the blue path. There is one column on the blue path that you may have to rotate 180 degrees, but other than that it's pretty quick, with minimal backtracking if you get all the beams going at once.

Well it seems to be multiple ways to solve this puzzle as I found my diagram doesn't always work the way I advertised it. Seems it depends on how you initially solve the first one.

I was seriously disappointed in that encounter. I thought the room was going to be some kind of moving pillars of flame that you had to avoid during the fight, then solve after the carta were dead.
The puzzle itself was simple enough.

Sim Sym Salabim!

Booya Shaaaka!

if you go in order...
just move the pillars in the middle section to join the ends.
same rule of thumb for all the puzzles in this room.

Here is one guide.
i think osne of the earlier posts had it right; it all depends on how you initially solve the issue to get out of the room. since ii can't reset them and start over, i guess I'll just have to live without the item set bonus and really cool helm (yes I'm still in Act I.)
Thanks for the link, I appreciate the help. I haven't given up yet, but I'm real close to it.

FYI I gave the controller to my boyfriend who simply played around with ikt for ten minutes and had it solved. I guess our brains just work differently lol.
