So wait, you're basing your entire opinion of the DLC on the loot

And the loot wasn't impressive?

Well, good. :) I have hopes that extra effort went into story. *checks more reviews*

lol  I didn't even pay attention to the loot.  Funny how that was the only thing the OP cared about.  I thought the story was quite interesting myself.  I used a save where I had already finished the entire game and brought a warden bethany along with varric and isabela.  Dialog was quite interesting.   It should be even more interestin if you bring Anders along.  I  will bring Anders along next time.

Oh it's good if you bring Anders along.... won't spoil it for you, but I recommend Anders in your party

$10 for 3 hours of game that's mostly filler combat? When you can get something like BG2 or PS:T for the same price on GOG? Yay paid dlc!

I'm sure if only you wait 10 years you'll be able to get this DLC for drastically reduced price, too Image IPB

I doubt people will be playing DA2 10 years from now.

But thats a complaint for all DLC not this specific one.

Yes, it's a complaint that applies to all paid DLC. Paid DLC is a massive scam.

Then don't buy it.  Real simple.  If you want to make a statement, make it with your wallet.

Exactly.

For Origins, ME1 and ME2 I've picked up all the DLC so I'm part of the problem as much as anybody, it's a total rip off in reality but the only way it'll stop is if people stop buying it. Voting with your wallet is the only thing these companies understand.

Yeah ok lvl 50. I'd probably think nothing of the DLC either. I played it with my mage lvl 18 and let's say I was entertained well enough through 2hrs +

I just finished it aswell. It was pretty good. Probably not worth the 800 points, but too late for that now. I did it with my Warrior and will do my Rogue next. Also have a Mage that I may do at a later time.

I think having exploited/cheated your character to level 50 gives you a very skewed take on the overall quality of the DLC.

There's always one isn't there? *Rolls eyes*

Right firstly I beat the game properly I then heard of an *exploit* which yes on my second playthrough I did use, however on my third and fourth and even fifth playthrough I did NOT use any exploit.

Given that the other issue with this game is that everything scales to your character it wouldn't have made any difference whether I was a level 10 or 20 or 40 when doing this Legacy quest as all enemies scale to your level.

So all in all nice try but you fail and I stand by my original take on the DLC.

you were level 50.. when you played it..-_-   i agree on the 7/10 score but dont boast your lvl 50 dude. <_<

the dlc was as good as da2 itself imo 7/10:bandit:

Just finished it, i got a good 2 hours + out of it. Played it from 3rd act. I like that the DLC recognizes ur love interest and provides banter specific to it. Maybe it depends on who it is, not sure, but it recognized mine. IMO there was TONS of history and lore. Thoroughly enjoyed the final battle. I think its definitely worth 10 bucks. Took, anders, varric and carver(grey warden) with me.

As awesome as those games were and still are, that's not a fair comparison because they were full priced software in their day. However I do agree with you that 10$ for a couple hours of added gameplay is absolutly stupid and for that reason alone I wont be getting Legacy. 10$ would be right for an eight hour expansion and 15$ for a 12-15 hour expansion sounds right. But this trend of WAY overpriced DLC is bull **** in my opinion.

They charge that much now because games cost a hella lot more to produce. Back in the day, you could charge ten bucks for a full game because it didn't require all these resources to make and the janitor was providing the grunting voice overs for the random swordsmen.

Anyhow, I thought it was great. Well worth it. There were actual added convos with our companions. Not just party banter. And there's a lot of replayability. To see all the new companion dialogue and to go through as the different classes. Different sibbling. So, very satisfied.

Although, I did play at level 13-15. And during the final boss, my party was dead by the second wave of it...and Hawke did the rest all by his lonesome. Still. Epic death scene. Nice reactions after the fact. Was incredibly pleased with Anders.

Back in the day (early 1990's) games cost quite a lot more than they do now. It wasn't uncommon to see new SNES games for example selling for 70 or 80 dollars new, upwards of 90 even in US/Canada. I dont know where you shoped to get new games for 10 bucks ;) I fully understand the lenglthy and costly process of video game development. However the emerging trend of DLC in the last five years is purly the result of piracy. And now that the big name publishers fully understand that kids will shove out dough or more commonly convice mommy to buy DLC, the days of the expansion pack are done. Theres no argument about that. 10 dollars for an extra couple hours of gameplay is pure publisher greed no matter how to slice it. Utter rubbish.

What part in my exposition made you believe you are in need to defend yourself, even insulting me throughout said process?
I think it is rightfully my privilege to roll my eyes on that disproportionate reaction of yours as I was in no way judging you, but merely pointing out a flaw in your perception my dear.

Secondly, the DLC is designed for a player with a level in the early twenties, for the simply reason there is no non-exploit/console way of achieving a higher level up to this point. That is what enemy composition and battlefield layout is designed around. The level-scaling of individual enemies is only a fraction of what overall difficulty is based on. So yes, having a maximum level for which this DLC was definetely not designed for does indeed fog your experience as opposed to a playthrough achieved by conventional means.

Next up is that loot also follows the same reasoning. Although it might scale along, the initial stats on which said evolution is based on is not designed for such high-level characters.

You can stand for whatever you want, but I advise you to refrain from calling someone "fail" when all that failed was your situational comprehension skill.

Thank you

So wait just because I used a level 50 character I am the one that fails because of an exploit I used that Bioware left in the game prior to patches basically meaning their quality control i.e. testers did not pick up on this? Wow ok right.

Secondly as I said before it does not matter what level character you use, the outcome, quality of gear and length remains the same so sorry your entire comment and lack of understanding simply causes me to to be amazed at your lack of lateral understanding pure and simple.

But overall the DLC is good but nothing amazing it is missing the wow factor.

I thought he was spot on.

From a general point of view; personally I never understood why people use flaws, exploits, cheat codes, any advantage whether intentially left in, overlooked, even a bug in a game to their advantage, whether that game is DAII, a shooter, an RTS, just ANY game; UNLESS they're completely stuck or just aren't very good players.  To each his own though.
