Just played Legacy and it just made my frustration about not playing my Warden or a Warden in general even bigger.

I mean... just look at that awesome prison they build to bind that awesome ancient evil with all that awesome background informations and all the awesome wardens in their awesome armor!

I was like "Why am I playing that punk Hawke? Just let me be my warden, or a warden again. Please?"

A Warden wouldn't have worked with the lore Legacy had.

Why does it matter? The Warden would be doing the exact same things as Hawke, except (s)he'd be mute and slowly dying / going crazy thanks to the taint. No thanks.

The exact same thing? Not really. He would've been investingating the pressing matters that Stroud/Alistair mentioned in Act Two or investigating why the Carta are at the prison  of Corypheus. Stuff that would be more interesting than hanging around in Kirkwall for ten years and just react when things can't be changed anymore.

And the whole going crazy thing... Larius didn't looked that bad, even without undergoing his Calling

I understand that. I meant in general, since I wasn't impressed with the whole setting of DA2. The fact that the Wardens seem to do interesting stuff around Thedas, while Hawke is sitting in Kirkwall just intensified that feeling for me.

I dont understand.  Are you insinuating that you will be seeing your warden? Because if you are, I can tell you that the chances of that happening are slim to none.  If we do, cool.  If we dont, cool.  Honestly, Im fine either way.  My only request is that if we do see him, I want a dialog option to poke fun at Mahriel for being stoic.  Oh, and I want the option to mention that I killed his clan as well.  But honestly, I dont see any of those things happening.

If that's the case then that means there is going to be an inevitable fight between Hawke and my Warden.  To which,  isnt going to end well for my warden if that's the case lol.  Only way my warden would come out of that alive is if Flemmeth or Morrigan stepped in to break them up.

The Origins pc was the Warden Commander of Ferelden. Larius was most likely referring to Stroud, since he is the Warden Commander of the Free Marches.

Also, it would be odd seeing the return of the mute warden from Origins in a game where Hawke is voiced. Not to mention, with the different character models, an elf or dwarf warden would definitely look odd.

Hope no GW vs Hawke. I´ve read enough comicbooks to be sick of heroes (or kind of) fighting instead of comparing notes whenever there´s a crossover.

And hawke would lose. Hits harder, but wastes time in too complicated and pointless movements. Also has the disadvantage of gaining no HP at level up - another design choice I don´t undersatand, especially after 1.03 gave this to enemy mooks.

Ehh... I don't know how they'd do that if the Warden Commander went through the Eluvian. Plus, Warden Commanders are everywhere. There's a Warden Commander in the Free Marches, one in Amaranthine (ours), one in Orlais, etc.

It doesn't mean that the Warden Commander that was talked about is our Warden Commander.

You misunderstand me, Im saying MY warden would lose to Hawke.  Just mine.  Only me.  Why? Because I want to portray my warden as a typical arrogant Dalish Elf who would find it inconceivable that a shem could beat him.  And in that arrogance, he would lose.  (Not to mention that as I said before, the only way my warden would come out of that exchange alive is if an NPC stepped in because given the choice, I'd be controlling Hawke.)  And no matter what, the character Im controlling = Winner

(yes, that's metagaming and yes, Im a proud metagamer Image IPB)

But as a whole, the only reason my warden would attack Hawke is after I chose the option to tell him that I killed his clan lol.

Would be awesome to have the Wardens recruit Hawke but since he knows what happens to Wardens eventually as per The Legacy he may be a bit relunctant? However if we got to see our warden from the first game that would be epic! :-D

Ok, I have finally played Legacy to the end. And while it certainly was nice to see Bethany again (my sister in the game), and the secret revealed near the end made me think twice about sidin with Larius, I still did so, because as I see it, the ancient evil (Corypheus) is still the more dangeorus enemy here.

I enjoyed this as as dungeon crawl with the story thrown in for good measure. And the story does indeed shed some light on Malcom Hawke, so we know a little bit more about him. The best part of Legacy in terms of store is this: We get to know more Varric's backstory. Not that I don't like the story in Legacy. I do. It has just been done to -ahem- death in games. And I am tired of it e.g. slaying ancient evils etc. etc.

In terms of gameplay, the combat was definetely the best this time around. Fights were challenging and fun. I had to use more strategies than in all of DA2 put together. [I sort of like DA2's combat but the wave after wave of enemies made combat tedious and -yes- boring]. Not so in Legacy, different strategies were necessay to fight the Alpha Genlocks, the Alpha Hurlocks, the Revenants, and the ordinary hurlocks or genlocks.

As for seeing the Warden again, I think it is possible that we'll se him or her again - as cameo apperance maybe. And the same goes for Morrigan and Flemeth. I have an intuitive hunch that the whole Morrigan/Flemeth/OGB situation is not resolved....

My Achilles type Warden would pawn Hawke so bad it would not even be that funny watching him being ripped apart like a tissue paper. So yes DA3 has a lot to make up for. Yet I will try this one out in my own time when I can afford it.
