Yesterday I checked up on my module on the vault, and found that the score had dropped significantly and there were 4 new votes. I looked and they were all bot votes (and all low, apparently bots have no taste for wizarding). Today I checked and the top 15 module list is in disarray. I checked on several modules and the bots had struck there as well. Could we be witnessing the rise of the machines against us?

Bots have been pesky before. In the past the bots have voted 10 though

I prefer the high voting bot too. Who want's to buy hand bags and sneakers from a negative 3 voting bot?

Goot point Shaughn. If they want me to buy their merchandise, they need to reciprocate a little. I also would expect a little more constructive feedback. Sometimes I think those bots don't even finish the modules!

I emailed both Maximus and BeyondThePale about the spam bots. It's not a good state of afairs.
The NWN community is in a bit of a mess with the loss of the old forum archives and now the spam bots taking over...
Anyone have suggestions for fixing things?

Seek-and-destroy missiles which track the source of the spammers across the net and then fire simulatenously from multiple locations around the globe, obliterating the human source of the machine menace.

BTW, that louisvuitton4u guy seems to be a fan. You should invite him to beta test your next mod.
airjordan4u, on the other hand, seems to hate you. You step on his kitten or something?

One thing that is needed is a better way to report bots. Currently we have to email the vault administrators. Having a report link on a user's profile may be worth while.

In only 3 spams the bots single-handedly dropped me from 9.44 to 9.01.
But I got a pair of air jordans from 1987 for only seven bucks so it's a wash.

I've been considering adding a merchant who sells:
Macmakeup's Cosmetics: -4 CHA, +10 to hooking (look at those rosey red cheeks!)
rainfloor's men's Shoes: -10 to move silent (they've squeaking new shoes!)
airjordan4u's Sneakers: Permanent slow (just because)
rainyfloor2's Dress: -4 WIS & INT (that's what you get for buying a dress from bot)

I recently had my first spam post on one of my vault submissions. It's only happened since the number of votes reached 10 and my module is showing up in the Top Rated list (currently number 80 with a sling-bullet). I consider it a rite of passage.
Unfortunately I have no interest in acquiring a replica Hublot watch - although perhaps in my next module I'll create a replica Hublot sundial (that stops working after a certain number of game-days).

The SOZ Holiday project has a crazy amount of spam bots(uninvited Holiday relatives, methinks). I suppose I'll have to get around to contacting an admin, but the whole thing seems so silly. We ought to have a report button on the vault, but I suppose that's asking for a bit much.

Yeah, I noticed that. Non of my pages seem to have any, though I did get one post from a site admin which said "test" - and gave me a 10. No links, though, so I presume it's not a spambot. :-)

airjordan4u is an orc. It finds my module offensive.
