So why do kid shows suck these days?

I recall that my favorite show for many years was 'The Twins of Destiny' - unfortunately I can't seem to get it anywhere now. It never got a VHS/DVD release, and nobody has it beyond episode 1 on youtube, so may well be lost forever...

Other than that, however, no children shows really interest me.

Most kid shows in the 80's and 90's aren't really better. Don't be swayed by any feelings of nostalgia.
Batman the animated series
Superman
Ren and Stimpy
Batman Beyond
Animaniacs.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Duck Tales
Darkwing Duck
Chip N Dale
The Tick
just a few of the ones that stack up today.... Nostalgia has nothing to do with it.
This...I do however disagree about ren and stimpy.
Now compare any other Shows on this list with say...Beyblade.
Don't tell me a show about people "battling" with a Jojo or Top, screaming things like "super mega rectal spinning turning attack" 10 times in 2 minutes is a good show...
Edit: And what's with all the Miley Cyrus crap!?

You need to earn the right to feel good about yourself?

Is it the spoiled, bratty characters? The loudness? The disgusting, obnoxious humor? It seems like all the good shows have either ended or been canceled. The quality of shows on Nickelodeon seemed to decrease after they took out Invader Zim. I've wondered if this was just nostalgia on my part. I mean, you see remakes of shows from the 80s and 90s all the time, but I can never get into them. Maybe it's because the writers are trying too hard to capture the attitude of those particular shows without realizing that people have moved on and want a more serious narrative?
I'm not into many kids shows, present day or the mindless shows I grew up watching.
I'm guessing from your post, however, that you have never watched Avatar: The Last Airbender or My Little Pony Friendship is Magic.
Both of these are much better written than anything I ever watched as a child.

Everything has lost its quality and is cheesy after year 2000, except video-games and some movies.

Hellz yea. Just like the golden age of horror was the 70's and 80's. Although some of the classics like Woody Woodpecker and Looney Tunes were the goods too.
And Slimgrin, remember the awsome Tales From the Darkside intro ?

I invite you to try to watch more than three episodes of a programme you enjoyed as a child and see if it brings any enjoyment other than nostalga.
Then watch a child viewing a contemporary show. Who has the most fun?

It is. It's not something I'd watch every day, but it is incredibly smart and clever. Everyone's waiting for the show to drop now that Lauren Faust is gone, though.

There are many reasons why the cartoons in the 80's were great but the main reason was because they actually taught morals and gave children lessons in life.
Id go as far as saying that they were superior in some aspects to the movies that are released nowadays.
There were also some great animated movies like "Flight of Dragons " and "The last unicorn".
