I know everyone says how much a better VA jen Hale is And she is talented But i just did a quick start up of a ME2 Fem Shep And Male Shep Side by side and I dont See Why people are hating on Mark Meer I think He does a fine Job Both him and her nail lines and both miss some i just wish people would stop whining about these type of things what do you guys thinkand if you like mark meer let it be Known

Hey, Meer was great! It's like when you have two wonderful boobies... Can you choose just one? Sometimes yes, like in the ME voice acting, sometimes they're equal, like in DA2's voice acting.

Ya. i don't see why everyone is so down on Meer and up on Hale. I've played both and their about on par.

Mark Meer does a fine job. Just because I like Jennifer Hale more (for the vast amount of work she's done in several Bioware games) doesn't mean I think Mark Meer is terrible.

I prefer Hale for paragon Shep and Meer for renegade. I think his voice goes perfectly with Sheploo and renegade actions. I think he does a good job. Alot of people don't agree with that though, and expressing that opinion isn't necessarily whining. There's been way too much complaining on complainers on this forum lately. People are entitled to their opinions.

I've never understood why some people complain about Mark Meer so much anyway. Maybe it's just those who only play as FemShep.

I perfer Hale over Meer, that doesn't mean I hate Meer's VA though. I think he suits perfectly for a male Shepard. I just prefer to play female for gender reasons that should be obvious. ._.

Is this accidentally posted from the past or something?

No-one is ragging on Mark Meer these days. That's so Mass Effect 1. Whilst I like Hale's performance better myself, Meer's one is a lot of fun, and I always play-through as both genders.

In ME2, they both nail about the same % of lines, though for me, Meer does the romance better, and Hale the "big speeches". In ME1, it was fair to say that Meer wasn't quite up the same standard, but that's ME1.

I have to admit I had the same thought when I read the thread. I haven't seen anyone complain about Mark Meer in a long time.

Meer's VA fits perfectly for my male elf mage in DA:O and he's just fine in both ME1 and 2, i'll find it odd if someone else VA'd maleshep in mE3... like it's "whhoA! who's that"

Meer is a really talented Voice Actor. He does that vorcha after all which is very impressive!


I just prefer Jen Hale and her portrayal of Shepard far more which makes it difficult for me to like Meer's stoic style of Shepard. Anyway its individual tastes so some prefer this attitude over femsheps.

I thought Meer did a fine job. He's the recognizable voice of Shepard for me.

The renegade option talking to the merc on Miranda's LM is classic Meer and it's stellar:

I think Jennifer Hale does a better Commander Shepard, then Meer. That's not same as saying Hale is superior to Meer in terms of voice acting. In truth, I think Meer is excellent, and he has surprised me before when I heard him as the elf Jethann in Dragon Age 2 and the Vorcha Crash mentioned. Meer is good, but I just prefer Hale as Shepard. =)

I like Meer's voice in both games. I preferred Hale's in ME but I have to give ME2 to Meer. He really stepped it up in the sequel.

I like them both, it's like 51.1% / 49.9% for Meers favor, just because I get a Bastilla vibe from Hale

Hale has much more VA experience, and I generally like her work.

But Meer does a way better Shepard than she does.

Hale was better in ME1, Meer was better in ME2.
Thinking about FemShep talking to Jacob makes me cringe. Why am I being all seductive when I'm asking about improving the ship?
