Just finished my first playthrough, loved it. It was great to see more open areas with branching paths. I applaud the effort to make the enemy appearances make more sense, and the odd time that there was a wave, the enemies came from around corners or behind doors so they never dropped from the sky which was great.
Having all the new party banter and dialog was also fantastic, the extra effort there paid off.
The grey warden story was great, with quite an interesting ending from the choices I made. Looking forward to playing it through again with all my different Hawkes & with different party members.
I loved the inclusion of the fire & the pillar puzzles. More of this :D Felt like Origins again!
Final boss was excellent and lots of fun. Definitely best fight in all of DA2 now.
Took me about 2 hours 20 minutes on casual to get everything (all sidequests, full armour set). Easy to see it taking 3 hours + on harder modes.

Complaints? The start felt a little jarring. It did sort of feel like an 'extra' bit of story rather than something that integrated into the rest of the game. But really that's such a minor thing it probably doesn't matter.
A couple of small things involving Anders bothered me (how can I say this without spoilers... I expected something to happen before the final boss, but nothing did).

9.5/10. Bring on Exalted March!

Finished first run through last night. First impressions of it was that it was excellent. Some really challenging fights in there, especially the last boss fight. Liked the use of traps and puzzles. Loved the fact that the companions had fresh dialogue. Story was very good too.

Only real nitpick i have is i would have liked a little more romance specific dialogue.

It was a great DLC, I loved it (it wasn't perfect but what is?)

DA 2 felt really mediocre and should have been better but Legacy kind of makes me feel a bit better (still wouldn't mind a really good expansion though.)

The final battle kind of annoyed me though.

EDIT: To clarify I did like the final battle but found some of the moving around a bit tedious

Completed Legacy and it was great!
I expected more than one armor set and more cool stuff to carry into the main game, but that's hardly a serious issue.
Only real problem now is that the main game feels like a bland, salt-free cream ****** after playing Legacy...
It may be wishful thinking but I truly hope BioWare is considering replacing some of the recycled areas in the main game with unique maps, along with some more tweaks to combat and such.

I was dissapointed with DA2 as a whole but this dlc made me feel slightly better about it, and now I know more about the lore then before. Blew my mind away when they revealed who the final boss was. Final battle gave me a run for my money and for once I felt I didnt come across a map in da2 that wasn't recycled.

Only part that upsets me is that the weapon or 'key' you get doesn't improve with level up, instead it is set at the level you are at when obtained, which is dissapointing because it seems like a weapon I would like to use for a good portion of the game if not all.

All in all I am going to be ripping my hair out for DA3 or more DLC to come out for story, 'cause this dlc gave us more to think about that's for sure.

I loved the DLC. Like others have said, it felt like Origins, but with the nice unique DA 2 style. All around, it was well done. The new areas were imposing and fascinating, the story involved and exciting, and the new enemy styles were huge improvements to vanilla DA 2. And the boss fight was epic! (Especially for my mage, who ended up fighting one on one after my team was picked off.)

The only thing I was disappointed with was the look of the new armor. Everything else was new, but he armor is a reused texture? I was hoping for something that would replace my champion armor; but, it's only an aesthetic thing. I can still appreciate the boost in armor stats.

Thanks, Bioware!

There were some bits of armor (the green ones) that was based on existing models, however (unless you've missed it) there is also a unique set of armor that is totally unique (elbeit close to another model we see in the main game).I know this sounds very cryptic, but I don't want to spoil it for anyone.

I've just bought Legacy and installed it on my ps3. The statue is not in my house, I've tried multiple characters at different save points, including post-campaign save, and the statue is not in any of them. Can anyone help?

EDIT - Found answer now, you must be online and logged in to activate it. Thanks Bioware for not making that clear at any point.

the story might not be as good as LotSB but i liked it
no more waves of Darkspawn falling from the sky ,Kudo's for this
lots of new banter and dialog
liked the new Darkspawn design but could have been a little darker
the boss fight was hard lol itb really gave me a run for my money
shame that the companions were sort of stupid they all died in the first few seconds of the fight
but it is a satisfying but long fight took me all most 20 min
love the new armor did not expect that so after almost 6 hours i can truly say this is what DA2 should have been
it sort of plays like origins (more kudo's :))

it is really good value for 800 points

I found it to be mediocre.
The new/redesign enemies  were easy to beat
it was short and the ending was terrible,

I found the party banter to be good.

Just finished Legacy for the first time. I had loads of fun!

The story was great, and not one recycled area in sight. Yay!
I also loved that your companions had plenty of things to say. I LOVED to hear romance specific dialogue in the DLC too <3 (Aww, Anders) There were some really touching and funny moments in there, which made my playthrough wonderful. The ending was also touching if you ended the DLC after a certain quest that had to do with your mother in the original game. Truly a great ending to this DLC.

Great job BioWare! I hope to see more DLC like this in the future.

Try going at it alone, naked and on Nightmare. That should give you the challenge you deserve!

Positives:

+ new dungeons.

Negatives:

- boring. Made me yawn through out the dlc.
- no conversation. No party interaction. Minor party banters do NOT make up for missing dialog.
- endless hack´n slash. I understand that kids love OMG-ultra-harderst-badass!!!11 level playing but for me the game should be about rpg, which it isn´t.
- no rpg.
- graphics like simple cartoon. (see TW2 for reference)
- Again, whats the idea with these anime weapons? I hate twisted oversized not-to-be-lifted-nor-used-by-a-normal-person weapons.
- Trash trash trash trash trash trash trash trash trash trash trash. For the love of the maker please stop that already.
- Still no possibility to to change companions armor.
- "my father was a blood mage?" this coming a from a blood mage. Please, a little consistency.
- There was no feeling of doom and danger in the tunnels. DAO had this much better. Darkspawn still looks like a buch of clowns on drugs. I noticed also the "Mouth of Sauron" in the game. Too obvious rip off.

Overall a minor dlc, it brought nothing new to the game nor did it change my view. Deffenetly not anywhere near the dlc level of the "shadowbrokers lair" contrary to some people claim.

I thought to play it through again with other companions but I just couldn´t care less anymore, too boring.

It seems obvious that Bioware wants to move from rpg to hack´n slash "awesomeness". I won´t be among those buying these games.

Conclusion: Money wasted.

I *really* appreciate, in principle, the acknowledgement the Sebastian friendmance receives (I hear),

Can anyone tell me WHEN does this happen?  I'm going to be seriously ticked if I have to keep restarting this DLC for anyone to say anything ...

Check out the Sebastian thread, which has been trying share who says what, when. It seems to be early, before Carta hideout, when you get all the banters (check out the pics from thread).

- Doesn't give any more real definition on the Hawke family, other than what little bit is explained that had been done through the Legacy storyline regarding certain family members. At the end, the story felt disjointed and without much purpose as to why this adventure was needed. (Maybe that is just me though).

Just on this bit it adds greatly to the lore and it gives further background to Hawke.

Yes, it did add a little lore, but seemed anachronistic in doing so, hence why I thought there was little point to it. The lore behind the ending boss was more than explained in Origins anyway, so I wasn't too surprised by much. For those who don't get into reading codex and journals, then this may be a revelation afterall. But, I take your statement well into consideration nevertheless.

This DLC has made it obvious that BioWare still doesn't get the importance of items or how to properly implement them. Getting to the end and earning your phat loot should feel good yet it doesn't in Legacy since you know that the phatness of the loot depends on your level. Meaning if you do the DLC early you get far worse items than you would if you did it later.

Bethesda received a ton of criticism for using this system in Oblivion and BioWare deserves even more for recycling it. Get rid of this asinine scaling or at least slap a levels up with the user tag on the items. You did it with Malcolm's Honor so why not the Key which should be a far more important item?

LotSB is (still) hands down, the best DLC ever put out by Bioware.

I don't see how LOTSB is much different especially in terms of choice. I've only played LOTSB once but doesn't it come down to either restarting the Liara romance or not and if you didn't romance her there's even less.

Ahh, but there is a choice with Liara for romance in LotSB, as long as there was a romance to carry-over. I don't know if there's a possibility otherwise since I have never played LotSB just as Liara's friend from an ME save.

I finished the last fight and i get to see the cut scene with Vallric & the lady chanter, grilling him for details - wam! game crashes. Apart from that this new DLC does some justice to the story, improved graphics, speech & game play. A nice touch to the new type of darkspawns and the puzzle in the chamber was a classic, i really enjoyed that bit.
There is a bit of confusion in the codecs under Characters after three years etc. The stories just don't fit the original game finish.
One other thing i did not like is the dark emporium - what a crap house? I would have loved to visit the Hangman for a cuppa & the ladies of the night establishment. This should have been made accessible in game. Plus, i found it too short for a DLC under 35 minutes and it done.

You compared it the Harvester/Orsino scenario, which was a complete rehash from GoA. I was pointing out that the battle with Corypheus was completely original. In that context, I asumed you would be able to figure out what I meant instead of guess that I thought there were two different versions of the same battle.

No, I wasn't comparing the originalities of the battles, just the similarities to the creatures, hence my comment "Ending boss looks (my emphasis) were too reminiscent of The Architech from Awakening', hence my "originality" complaint.

You said there was no real companion interaction, which I pointed out isn't true. Simple. You never originally said that you wanted to initiate the dialogue yourself. If that's your definition of companion interaction, then I guess you're right by your own terms, but I was origianlly unaware of those.

Fair enough, I should have elaborated, so apologies, that is what I meant.
