So, no enemies dropping from the ceiling, more party banter, puzzles and combat that's actually hard ? Sounds like it fits more in DA:O than DA:2, I am intrigued.

I really enjoyed it, but then I enjoyed DA2, It did feel like retrodden ground in some aspects... Ander's even comments "This sounds familiar".... but it also felt very much like an Origins story starring Hawke.

It's not particularlly long, and again it leaves a lot of questions and leaves things open..... Especially the way Larius talks at the end ((if you sided with him)).... yet to do the other play through...

only one playthrough done and that was post campaign as the lone surviving hawke...

I am happy overall with the content, I'm glad to see the casandra and varric scene hasn't been ditched...

Can't wait for the next episode ... hopefully it's that Exhalted March everyones talking about.

Just finished it. I played an hour on Nightmare, then switched it back to normal, since I'm not used to fighting as a mage on the mode.

Without spoiling anything, yes it is long, but in a bad way. It's not long because there's lots of story stuff. Actually the story is pretty basic, and not much too it. It's more of long because you'll be spending all your time fighting, walking, fighting, walking, in very meh levels. Think Overlord, except more time spent fighting, and some banter.

I wouldn't really call the new weapon great. I was hoping I could recustomize it, but you can't after you make the 3 choices. I also missed the boots for the armor.

I don't think it was worth 10 dollars. I felt Overlord felt more rewarding because it offered new elements, and hell, Witchhunt seemed more storydriven.

This felt like a sidequest that went on for way too long.

I am curious, does it change anything in the primary game or is it completely self contained?

I really had fun with this DLC. It took me about 3,5 hours to finish, because I had way more to explore as in the main game. Reminded me at Origins, good thing!

The remove of the "endless" waves was a very good move. It makes combat way better and I didn't feel annoyed by it like sometimes in the main game. Level design was great, thats how DA 2 should have looked like, diversified and atmospheric.

The puzzles did a good job in distracting you from the combat. I think the story was decent , but its hard to tell a really good, fleshed one during a DLC. You implemented more "rpg" from the "action-rpg", veeeeeeeeeeeeeeery good move. :)

Two questions:
- Does the armorset level up with Hawke, like the weapon?
- Anyone found the "easteregg" related to Origins, a dev mentioned a few days ago? PM me to avoid spoilers please.

Oh, one letdown: design of the twohanded sword, too big and scruffy.

Thank you Bioware for this DLC, I enjoyed it alot!

- The fights were more interesting and more challenging, and as everyone else have said it's good that enemies no longer appear out of nowhere.

- Great banter between the party-members and absolutely hilarious dialouge from "sarcastic" Hawke, especially when she talks with Varric.

- I enjoyed the more open areas which lets you explore a bit more instead of just running in a straight line towards your next objective.

- I also liked the story and all the lore about the Grey Wardens spread out across the DLC.

- The small puzzles were fun and quite welcome.

- The last fight was challenging and had alot of need for tactical play. Very good, very good.

- Great thing that you allowed your sibling to tag along and also contribute to the story. In my opinion your family/sibling is one of the greatest addition you made to DA2. I hope I will get the chance to do more DLC or expansions with my sibling in the future.

Great work. The battles were fair, interesting and diverse, especially the final boss was great. The story was interesting, the companions very well implemented. Level design was good, the "magic beams" riddle just hard enough. I enjoyed the main game very much, but Legacy definitly is one of my favorite parts.
My only criticism would be the sudden opening. If you play it post-campaign, it's good. But when playing from the middle of the game, it feels a little abrupt. Another tiny problem for me (but that is also that way in the main game) was too much jewelry. I like looting, but i got that many rings and amuletts in short time that it was hard to keep track.
But that are minor concerns. This DLC rocks.

This DLC was better than all of Act 3. I really enjoyed it.

The new maps are obviously very welcome. I really appreciate the effort taken to record dialogue for all of the companions and to explain the presence of the sibling. The cinematography is great. I love how fights are broken up with frequent cutscenes and/or companion dialogue. The sidequests are a welcome addition. The final boss battle is easily the most challenging and fun boss fight in all of Dragon Age. Whoever designed that boss fight, give them a high-five for me.

My only complaint is that the items you earn are less powerful than the things you get from the Item Pack DLC.

Although I'm still hoping for another Awakening-style expansion pack, Legacy is easily the best Dragon Age DLC to date and will be, I hope, the benchmark for future DLC. Well worth the $10.

The best DA DLC ever; really, really great job.
Almost all know issues of the main game and of Origins DLCs seems to have been solved.
New areas are simply amazing, better than any other area in the main game; it tooks me more than 3 hours to finish so luckly it's really the longest DLC excluding Awakening.
The final boss was so hard that all my companions died in a few seconds and I spent a half hour to defeat him "in solo"; it was great, but I hope i'll be able to count on some party helps at the next playthrough!:D
The story was cool and the interactions between followers were many and all funny/interesting.
I'm happy to have spent money for it, i've really enjoied it! Well done Bioware!

Only one bad point: the weapon doesn't seem to scale with level; i took it at level 26 with 59 damage points and at the end of the DLC i was 29, but still same damage points!:crying:

Just a note - this thread is mostly intended to gather feedback on Legacy, to share your thoughts and impressions.

There is now a separate thread in which to ask non-spoilery questions about Legacy. Please feel free to use it to ask things!

Very nice! I love the tantalizing additions to the Dragon Age mythos. The lore is very fascinating, and I think I read and re-read the codices at least two or three times. I'm also really pleased by the amount of dialogue and banter between party members. It's nice to see romances recognized, as well. Especially bringing Anders down there, that was really something that should have been acknowledged and it was. Little details like those--even something as small as Anders addressing Hawke as "love"--helps reinforce the idea that your choices, romances, etc. matter. I love seeing that type of story and character reactivity.

Hands down, this is the best piece of DLC released for the Dragon Age games. I really hope we see more of this caliber.

Im halfway through a second playthrough, this time with Grey Warden Bethany instead of Circle Mage Bethany.

Suprisingly big difference between them, i am impressed.

This is what i like to see.

I think im still going to hang on a week or two.  At this stage all the excitement is still grabbing people making it hard to actually critically analyse it.  Those that over-do it at this stage just aim to be as cynical as possible or are just over hyped up.

I will give some time for the DLC to sink in.  But the overwhelming positive responce so far is making me think it will be worth a download.

:)

Fantastic DLC BioWare, thanks! It is worth 800 points? Yes it is.
For me it was over 3 hours of extremely good (new / fresh!) content.

I enjoyed the story presented in Legacy. Similarly to LotSB it was well paced, engaging and actively present throughout the whole dlc. There was never a dull moment be it from party banter, expositionary dialogue or the occasional new codex entry. Story was presented in a balanced well-planned manner something I don't often see in a dlc, where it is most often dumped at the beginning and the end. Without delving into spoilers I think it does well in balancing together a personal story with a more "epic" one. I must say that watching Corypheus during the cutscenes really made his design shine, the textures helped as well :)

The Ievel design allows for more tactical maneuvering and planning during and before battle, further helped by the inclusion of the new-old creatures more specifically the genlocks and their awesome shield. Enemies can ambush and use the environment (traps, heights) against the player. Final boss battle was a blast, both visually and gameplay-wise. Levels are also more open and allow for some exploration outside of the main quest. Visually there is a good amount of variety , from desert forts, to forgotten ruins to misty undergrounds to mountaintop towers.

Enemy waves are minimized to an extent similar to the waves in Origins. No more dropping from the sky, encounters with deepstalkers do include waves but they make sense in terms of lore. There some waves during the battles with The Carta but they were tastfully done, again no dropping from the sky or anything of that sort.

Minor nitpicking would be the quest about the dwarven prince. Its conclusion was lackluster, also there is a bug where the first legionnaire journal opened again in place of the second one. The game also crashed two times during my playthrough.

Even though I enjoyed the main game, I'm not sure I want to play it anytime soon. Legacy was excellent to such an extent that all the flaws present there now seem more bothersome than before. Everything is improved and if Legacy is a slice of what the DA team has in store for us in future content than I want a piece of that cake.

I really don't think that you will be sorry    =)     bring your sibling if he/she is alive and get going. The best thing for me is that I can see really good replay-value in this one. Just did it with one Hawke and can't wait to try it with Bethany instead of Carver and bringing Varric since I didn't bring him last time. Hmmm... for me this was as good as LotSB     <3

Thought it was good. The scenery was easy on the eyes. The fights were alot harder. I know it takes alot to develop these dlc. I wish it wouldve been a little longer. I enjoyed it though. Looking forward to more. And fingers crossed for an expansion! I just had one curious thought. (SPOILER) So when Hawke got the armour in the end, it looked alot like Warden armour. Yet hes not a warden. Would love dlc where Hawke finally meets the the hero of ferelden. Or at least as to when he went into exile after defeating Merideth.

This felt a lot like Origins combat, in the sense that enemies were more strategically placed. The final boss fight was brilliant, but Meredith is still superior, I think. The time the boss went into Phase Three, I was all "whut".

But the Genlocks still confound me. No idea why they need to look like what they look like. However, the Genlock Alpha's attacks make it one of the best enemies in the game.

A bit confused as to why The Plan in Legacy echoed Awakening, but it was a minor grievance as there was no endgame choice to be made.

Also, the new armor is awesometastic.
