Otherwise, great DLC. The final boss was a blast to fight for me and I enjoyed the new environments. Companions speaking and involving themselves in the dialogue was also greatly appretiated.

The plot is solid enough, and good as a short, standalone story.
I loved the new banter, dialogue and character interactions; although the voice actors seemed a little off their game. I'm not sure when the voices were recorded (if it was during the recording for the rest of DAII), but I could sense an almost tiredness in their work (particularly in the banter with the characters I took--Varric, Anders and Fenris).
Improved gameplay in the fact that I didn't have endless swarms of enemies dropping from the sky. Much more interesting, tactics-based battles; though still not as thought-provoking and brain-working as Origins.
My biggest complaint: Too short. I powered through it on normal in about three and a half hours, and I'm a slow player. Having paid $10, it just doesn't seem worth it. Paying $50 and getting 40 hours of gameplay in DAII, I felt as though I deserved two hours more at the very least.
Knowing what I know now, would I pay $10 for it, again? No. Six or seven, is what I feel it's worth, and I was not ultimately satisfied with what I was given, for the price it came at. It was enjoyable, definitely more so than I feel DAII ultimately is, but not enough for me to recommend buying.
Overall: 7.8/10; far higher than the score I gave to DAII, which was a lowly 6/10.

For DLC, I consider this rather long. I was very impressed with the length, just like with Shadow Broker.

I don't know what to tell you if you're looking for DLC that goes past this number. DLC is a quick fix, it's not an expansion. It's simply supposed to compliment the main campaign, not add anything majorly new.
My point was simply that the time I spent on it was not worth the money, in my eyes. I would not have had a problem with the length if the price had been slightly lower.

Also, I really enjoyed the party banter with the companions and the banter that Hawke got to interject in as well. Furthermore, the developing story of Thedas (and darkspawn and the Maker, etc.) is really intriguing.
The battles were good, and I thought this dlc had a good balance between story and action. I appreciated the "portal" that took me back to my estate. It was surprising and very welcome as I was loaded down pretty heavily by that point.
I have to say that I felt I got a great product at a decent price.

I've spent more money on sandwiches. I wish I could say those captivated me for three-four hours.

Well one thing so far with post-game save is only place you can go is Hawke's mansion and the Black Emporium. Meh ...
But one thing that really .. upset me (though more ticked me off) is that Sebastian never seemed to acknowledge the romance of my character with him.
Let me explain.
My playthrough with my first Hawke was with Anders. We went to the Legacy content and Anders had some line he was concerned about my Hawke being attacked by these dwarven carta which was touching after all I went through.
With Sebastian, breaking my arse getting through the romance and all for me to finish him, killing Anders and I got NOTHING from him, just staring into space.
Look BioWare .. if you make ANY character ... even DLC ones ... be CONSISTENT! Please if you have any flags there about romances, things that happen, quest related, bring them into your new DLC. I know some might not be bothered by it, but if your character romanced Merrill or Anders, or Isabella .. or Fenris, yet they never acknowledged it in any DLC wouldn't you be ticked off?
I'm still going to continue playing but this glaring thing really irks me. Please, BioWare, in any later games you make, be CONSISTENT EVEN WITH DLC! I know everyone didn't get Sebastian, but I know you can make flags for code!

I, a fence sitter who's extremely hesitant to buy this DLC because I disliked just about everything in DA2, will now try and see if I understand your gripes here.Ad Dugg wrote...
Man, I feel so shafted. I've defended you guys since DA2 launched, check my posts.
I defended you guys when all the fans were being unreasonable and you give me this!
I saw someone from Bioware post this DLC was around three hours long. 1hr 20m is not three hours, it's less than half.
The level layout and combat aspects were an improvement but the story was absolutely terrible! DA2 had an excellent story I thought, so why did we get a mostly predicable story with no personality?
800ms points was way too much for this. I paid £10 to buy the closest denomination of points which is 1000msp. So I feel like I've forked out a tenner, even though I know you guys only get the 800msp I'm now left wondering why I bothered.
For 800msp I expect a selection of new weapons and armour, not just a few hand me downs. I expect a decent amount of content. Have a look at what Bethesda and Obsidian did with Fallout. That is what I expect for 800msp. I understand you can't match them because of different issues but you just tried to make the angry forum fans happy and forgot about the other fans. The angry forum guys must make up 2% of total sales (or somewhere near that). I think you've lost touch with what's current and what people want from game add ons.
The new armor is nothing special, giving us some Warden armour just makes me feel like you couldn't be arsed to give me anything extra for my money.
Let me try and give you an example incase that wasn't exactly clear. If I buy a COD map pack, I feel like I'm paying to play some exciting new stuff in a fun game. I don't feel like Treyarc or IW have only made them so they and Activision can have a even bigger pot of money, even though that IS what they're doing. That's how you guys have made me feel. Like I'm just another statistic that you and EA can boast about in corperate meetings and not a valued customer who has bought all DA games and DLC to date, has all the achivemeants and most of Biowares previous games.
I understand the need to make money, video games take a massive amount of funding and you need to re-coup the money spent to make more titles, and that's fine, I just feel really under valued, let down and unimportant.
I know this is a rant and I'm sorry if any this displeases you guys who believe in what you're doing but that's how I feel.

1) This DLC does not feature the all-too-common "pay us a few bucks and we'll give you a bunch of shiney new items!" Instead, it features a couple of legendary old items with relevant-to-the-plot item histories (or hand-me-downs, as you call them.)
2)The content of this DLC manages to disappoint someone who absolutely loved DA2 - it seems to pay lip service to those of us who didn't.
3) rather than being long and dripping with filler, it's short, but features better environments and combat.
Damn.... You know what? I'll Take it! Maybe I'll download this baby for my weekend playtime.

Yeah, I was about 15 minutes in before I realized I'd forgotten to sell my loot from The Last Straw after the post campaign save. A really nice feature in a DLC but I wouldn't want to see it in the main game.Saberchic wrote...

PROS:
- Awesome story and lore questing. Much more interesting than the main game's "random" quests. This is easily better than any of the Act ending quests in the main game. It reminded me a bit of Awakening but that is a good thing
- Boss fight was fun and different.
- More leveling up.
- New party banter!! One of the things I hated about ME2 DLC was that there was no new party dialog. I also like the shout out to LIs. Totally adds to the replay value.
- Dwarves and Grey Wardens...some of my favorite aspects of DAO and they were sadly lacking in Kirkwall (for the most part).
- Combat spawning was organic and flowed nicely. No more "It's raining men!!"
- New enemies (shield carrying darkspawn, return of the alpha genlock and hurlocks...) were cool in redesign.
- Holy cow, look how much different this game plays with some unique areas!! No more running through the same two caves the whole time. Was that so hard, Bioware?
- Had some poignant moments. It's nice to care about Dragon Age characters again.
- Just fun to play...
- No bugs that I noticed...
- Well, not many if compared to the main game. If you didn't like some gameplay elements of that one you probably won't like this much.
- No real killer items. Even the "key" is not very useful for my 2 handed warrior. But, it was unnecessary as I found the game quite easy on "hard".
- $10 was a bit much for what it was...but then again, I spent about 4 hours of pure fun, and, fun that I didn't really have with regular DA2. So, for what amounts to about the same cost as three beers at the bar, I give a firm thumbs up!!

In the words of William Munney "Deserve's got nuthin to do with it."
Anyway, $10 for four hours of fun gaming is worth it to me. I would gladly pay for content that is this quality. Now if you were going to argue that the main game wasn't worth $59, then I would agree!

Dragon Age Legacy has:
Great story,
great banter,
great premise,
interesting enemies,
Nice items.
Dragon Age Legacy does not have:
Waves of enemies coming from idiotic places. [in fact there is very little wave combat at all, the only thing that pops out of nowhere are demons, which makes sense]
Poorly done characterization [like the entirety of Act 3]
All in all it's a damn smash hit in my book. Keep it up Bioware!

Only gripes:
1. It is flippin' Monty Haul down there. Way, way too much stuff in terms of tippy top magic items.
2. The Key isn't actually better than the DLC Item pack items - at least for a mage
3. On 360, Hawke's dialog in non-cutscenes doesn't have enough volume.

No raining men or Darkspawn emerging from behind me when I was just there 2 seconds ago. THANK YOU. Please keep it up for DLC and DA3.
