I enjoyed this DLC a lot, took me a little over 3 hours to complete. Now after this I'm hoping we get no less from future DLC's and expansions. Also hope we get some more content sooner rather than later. :) 2 thumbs up!

I thought this DLC was superb. Having the use of my regular party members was really appreciated, their banter was amazing, and I really, really enjoyed the final boss fight. I'd probably say it's my favorite Dragon Age boss fight to date. With previous Dragon Age DLC I'd always felt like my usually helpful, chatty party members had turned into silent bodyguards, but with Legacy they seemed themselves. Carver/Bethany especially seemed to have an almost inexhaustible supply of quips, opinions, and conversations available to share. Also, I have no idea if this was intentional, but the waves of enemies seemed a lot more natural, which was a nice touch.

The only negative thing I could think to say is that at times it was a tad combat-heavy. But just a tad, and I realize for most people it probably wasn't combat-heavy at all. Oh, and it needed more Anders, but that goes without saying.

Overall, a wonderful DLC. I hope that there are more to come of this caliber.

*NOT TECHNICALLY A SPOILER BUT I WOULD AVOID READING IF YOU HAVEN'T COMPLETED LEGACY*

I really enjoyed Legacy and I believe it's a major step up in quality from Origins DLC. That being said, I'm disappointed that what seemed like a major choice ended up changing nothing and the ending was extremely similar no matter what you did, much like the main game's ending. Perhaps I'm expecting too much from a DLC but after all the "We've been listening!" I got my hopes up when I was forced into "the" decision. I don't want all of Thedas to revolve around every single decision Hawke makes but there has to be a happy medium between how Origins and DA2 handled choices.

Registered my game just so I could post here and say that I loved it.

It is quite obvious that a lot of time and effort went into companion dialogue- ambient, banter, and the regular type- which was so very appreciated. I noticed that in addition to commenting on their own about various events, the things they would say when clicked on changed by area. They all also had opinions and input to add from their own experiences, so it felt more 'real' for them.

Definitely got a more tactical feel for the combat (and no enemies falling from the sky!) In fact, I nearly got my butt handed to me several times for 'charging in' whereas there would usually be no consequences in regular DA2 (playing on Normal). In that way it brought back a lot of memories of Origins, mostly by me cursing at myself for not being more patient!

The story was not at all what I expected, but in the best possible way. I'm really excited to see where the lore goes from here.

Finally, I also really appreciated the more 'open' feel of the level design; there seemed to be a lot more to explore vs in the main DA2 story.

Big props to the whole team! Keep it up

This is pretty much exactly what I wanted from DA2 to begin with.

i just played Legacy, on a Friends House.

if you have been seeing my comments recently, then you KNOW that i am not fond of DA2.
But..... i actually LIKED this DLC.

I'm not really sure why, probably because i'm not stock in Death city aka
Kirkwall, it doesn't have a BullS**t story that thinks it's subtle, and
no focus whatsoever on the BullS**t characters.

Some of my main gripes with the game are still there (The Combat it's still annoying as F**k, the Art Style is....eh, Etc...).
but with the fact that this actually has an overarching plot that evolves a
bit from start to finish makes it a better story than the game itself
for me (LOL), and i do like that the story go a bit deeper into Hawke's
family (HEY, who Knew? Hawke and his family CAN be interesting !!!), and
it manages to not really feel very personal, which is good, because what's
important is how it feels.

Also, things such as no more waves.
No more F***ing repeated scenarios
The Banter is very amusing, more than the actual game.

("Isabela: i spot something with my little eye, something that is...Red. and socially Uncomfortable
Aveline: Ugh
Isabela: No Guesses? starts with A
Aveline: Shut Up
Isabela: Ooh my mistake, it starts with such a B
Aveline: Time and a place Isabela. No Games when we're this deep in a Mess
Isabela: Fine. Gone from B to Real C, anyway"

LOL!)
it's fairly long.
Has FAR better and tougher decisions than the actual game.
The weapon that the dlc gives you it's more interesting the entire loot of the actual game combined(though that's not much)
etc...

my overall score of this DLC would be...... 8/10, my main complains are
still there, and i would still probably complain about them DA3, given
that i could stomach the combat and the art style because this is short
compared to the real game, but i wouldn't stand it if i have to play it
for 30 to 40 hours, BUT, in the case of DA2, i can see that at least
they listened to fans and fixed what can be fixed, giving that many of
MY complains involve a Redesign.

But despite all, i enjoyed Legacy, and i will play it again to see the different out comes(hopefully my copy of DA2 hasn't grown mushrooms Yet)

I'm Happy that the guys at BioWare are listening and fixing what CAN be fixed in this game, giving that many complains involve a redesign.

This is what i was hoping DA2 to be, and what it Could and Should have been.

I Am now hopeful for the future again and patiently await news for DA3 (No hurries... Seriously).

lol, it's funny that i actually liked a DLC.... For a game i don't like... LAWL!

This DLC is an epic! Best DA DLC ever! Just like LotSB!

Believe me! Play in Act 1 is the best choice.(Because your mother and Carver/Bethany are still there!)

Loved it!  I did a double play session tonght, and tacked on a bit extra.  Finished it in around four hours, only missing the family achievment.  Casual difficulty with my favorite elemental mage.  One level of Blood Magic and one level of Force magic.  Took Merrill, Isabela, and Varric.

1)  Waves are done much better.  Where they still exist, they they are tied a lot tighter to the world.  The mobs come out of doors, or from around corners.  That is win.  There were several ambushes, which was awesome.  There were what seemed like more set battles too, which was nice.  The five demon fight was fun,  Overall, there was a lot less random or filler fights.  Each combat felt more like it was part of something larger, rather than just being tacked on.  I liked that.

2)  Zones were gorgeous...  And the min-map lined up.  That helps keep me from trying for an hour to get to a section of the map that doesn't actually exist.  I prefer outdoor zones, or caverns where there can be sweeping vistas (but not a swooping vista, because swooping is bad), and Legacy definetly had several spots with "grand views."  I really liked the final tower, the underground tower with the bridges shooting off to who knows where, and the whole Vimmark region.  It was all great looking.

3)  Over all, there seemed to be less looting of monsters.  Was that because there was less waves or simply less looting to do?  Probably the less waves.  I **** about having to loot boxes to get trash trinkets... now I have to loot small purses.  At first I was  but then I was .  In general, environment loot felt more natural.  It was in boxes and vaults and beside beds and things like that.  It's a step up from ten thousand small boxes.  For DA3, screw random and junk loot.  Eliminate it!

4)  Monsters ruled.  The darkspawn were badass.  I got a creepy feeling looking at the new hurlocks that I never got from the old ones.  That's win.  The genlocks were also great looking.  They have their own style now, rather than being hurlocks someone sat on.  Win.  Shrieks are the best darkspawn though.  I'm just casually mentioning that.

5)  The balance of story to combat was also win.  There was a personal side to it, and some huge reveals to the world lore.  I very much liked how both of those played out.  Makes me look at the events of Awakening again...  I loved the major reveal at the end.  I've suspected that for a long time, but had no real proof.  The personal ending was really nice for my "sole survivor" Hawke.  I got a nice sense of her missing her family without it straying into sappytown.  It's nice to see (and hear) the main character in a vulnerable moment.

6)  The customizable weapon was a great touch.  I like that I can tailor the weapon to how I like to play... even if that has no relationship to the build guides that people make.

8)  The final boss fight was great.  Great effects, great fight, great blend of action and cut scene.

The lack of a central party management screen is still fail, but that's outside of a DLC's scope I would expect.  Loot also needs to go away and leave me more time for story.  And the customizable weapon idea needs to be taken to the next level... Customizable weapons more like how Mass Effect 3 appears to be handling customizing weapons.  And customizable armor like in ME2.  That would be a thousand times better than picking up random items.  Name each base, uncustomized model and give them stories.  I'd love that.

On the whole, great stuff.  You get me one of these every 90 days, I'll get you 800 points each time, no problem.

Pretty good stuff. I liked it a lot. Bioware, I really think you did just about everything right with this DLC. If/when you do more, I think you've got a very solid foundation here. I especially enjoyed all the chatter from my companions, and the sensible spawning of enemies!

In fact I dare say this is one of the best DLC I've seen from Bioware.

PS: Merril elicited quite a few laughs from me on this adventure, since I have a terrible tendency to well... *SPOILER* make deals with demons and all things dark and dangerous. Her reactions to my decisions were gold! :D

Finally finished Legacy and I'll give it the highest praise I possibly can to a DLC: It was as enjoyable as Shadow Broker. LotSB does excell in more interesting environmental stuff, but Legacy excells by involving new dialogue for all your companions, not just one.

It was very nice how the whole thing flowed. It felt like feedback was listened to. Enemies came from sensible locations. No dropping waves. No repeated environments, and everything looked great. I can't believe I fell for the 'Alpha Genlock Door' trick more than once. Well played.

Went in with Myself(rogue), Isabela, Varric and Bethany. My favorite team. I was quite surprised to find the origin of Bianca in there. And loved Isabela and Bethany resuming the affectionate dialogue they shared in act 1 of the main game. Also the bit where Isabela explains why she wears no pants and doesnt change clothes as often as Hawke was a winner.

Speaking of Dialogue, Isabela's mid combat banter with Hawke in the final battle got me laughing so hard I nearly had a party wipe. "Quick, strip him!" It was nice to see everyone so chatty overall.

And thumbs up on the Rogue finishing move in the ending. Just looked great. Looking forward to replaying this thing with other companions, classes and story points.

All this positive feedback and I still haven't seen anyone that has found the super-secret surprise yet. I'm going to lose my bet as to when it gets discovered :pinched:

Why do you tease us so, Luke? Do you really want me to stay up all night looking into every single nook and cranny of Legacy and then fall dead in the middle of my campus tomorrow? ;D

That's far too easy if I give a hint. The only thing I can say it that I'll call it out when someone finds it. I suspect it'll be on the YouTubez before anything else though - always seems to be the way.

And no, of course I don't want you to fall dead, DrunkDeadman (wait, redundancy check?) ...I may chuckle if you fall asleep though :lol:

Gotta say the combat is improved. The tactical placing of some of the enemies was awesome. I'm sad to say that when a Genlock alpha came from a space on the left side of the wall I thought he was gonna push me off and freaked out.. But luckily dragon age isn't that kind of game.

Also I couldn't beat the last boss on hard at all (I know I suck). Got SO close so many times.. but I finally just turned it down a notch. Got to say I enjoyed it though, Also the true "identity" of the last boss made me really excited in this weird fanboy way. Overall great DLC. I also enjoyed the warden armor so thanks for that.

i watched my buddy play it (im broke) it had the same lame art style so some of the maps did look recyled. the dungeon reminded my of the sewers and dark town. other than that it seemed to be a pretty big improvement. fix the art and graphics in the next installment and i think everybody will be willing to forgive the  mistakes in da2. i'll buy it in september maybe(Bday). good deal bioware im inpressed.

Very much enjoyed Legacy. A lot of good story and action in a small package, as well as lots of leet lewt to plunder. Sets a high bar for DA2 DLC and I look forward to my next dose.

The only two negatives I can think of after playing the game.
1. Without spoiling the final battle too much, path-finding makes it harder than it need to be.
2. Very minor grip, petty even. The customizable weapon in the DLC is, to put it bluntly, ugly. Nothing that bends me too out of shape, but there it is.

All in all, loved the DLC. The end fight was a bit repetitive, once you figured out how to beat him each puzzle time it was easy and really didn't require much other than time. I think one of the times would have been nice to change up what you had to do, instead of doing a threepeat. Maybe the last could have been actually destroying the statues as they spawn shades instead of what was done. I kinda have a thing about those who do me and mine wrong ending up dead, so I wasn't super happy with everything. I understand the choice but I wish it could have been more varied if you wanted to go a certain route.

It took me a bit over 3 1/2 hours to play, loved the new maps and monsters, this is how DA2 should have been the entire game. Loved the remark by Varric on Griffens and Swooping is bad to Merril. I got an Amulet from Dumat, it was meh, maybe because I took a 24 level Mage into the game, and had some really good stuff, it just wasn't worth the hunt to me. Loved the background on Varric's family and Bianca's maker. Loved the blessing of the Lost Lord, loved the puzzles, even if there could have been more, man I bet the light puzzle was fun to design.

Does the "key" scale to your level when you enter?? And does it scale any as you level in the regular game, because it would be nice to have but getting it early may make it obsolete pretty easily by the end of the game which would be a shame.

If you continue to make this quality of DLC, I will continue to buy. If you can just make the main game this quality next time, then I will continue to buy, of course I probably will anyway for awhile because I like your games. But please continue to put this or better quality in the games and DLC.

Great Job, Guys and Gals.
Bravo to Bioware.

I enjoyed this DLC.

I loved the new environments.
I loved how enemies didn't just pop into existence.
I liked doing the puzzle side-quests.
I had a ton of fun with the last boss fight.

I'm looking forward to the next story DLC.

Loved the level design and using the staff makes Hawke glow. The storyline was pretty nice as well.

Disappointed that I couldn't let the boss go in exchange for some power.
